I don’t generally read books set in the United Kingdom, because I don’t like to have to think about what the words mean, I just want to read the story and get immersed in it. This book was very well written and had a well rounded storyline with unique characters. A fast read and perfect for the summer by the pool. Full of fun and one that you will want to give a try. Thanks for the opportunity. Enjoy!

I’ve had this book on my shelf for a little while. It’s one that I think about starting, but then opt for something different instead. I think that is because of the cover (oh what a cliche I am!!) - it’s just not as inviting or exciting as others in this genre.

I found the book quite enjoyable, the characters were well written and I got a sense of knowing them, which I like. Nothing worse than a book with poorly defined/described characters. The story flowed quite well, but it just lacked a bit of pizazz for me. I didn’t get that gripping feeling of not being able to put the book down.

The story covered some interesting topics and was a decent read, overall.

Thank you NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book 📚

A fast paced read with all the makings of a fun book: friendship, romance, vacation and learning to trust your gut feeling.

Ashleigh no longer trusts her judgement after being cheated on by her ex a number of times. She then meets Dave who seems too good to be true and Ashleigh finds herself second guessing herself when it comes to Dave and after overhearing a partial conversation she makes some big decisions about her future.
I enjoyed this read and the storyline was something that is relatable to many people. I did feel a bit frustrated with Ashleigh's character at times but felt there was some growth within her character. I would have liked to see Dave's assault be explored more as I think this topic is not talked about enough and is more common that people think.
Should also be trigger warnings for sexual assault, abusive relationships and cheating

Lighthearted and fun! Not really sure how I truly felt reading this book! It was a good read but honestly? I felt I was getting a little bored, didn't find my self really getting into it like other books I've come across. But we'll written and I loved the general story.

I swear I read this book straight through, that was how amazing it was. It was mixed with a little of everything. It made me laugh a lot especially when the main character Ash went on a vacation with her friends. But mostly I loved the romantic story between Ash and Dave, it was one of those romances that made you feel all mushy inside and I found myself cheering them on. Wonderful read.

I was just so bored, i don`t know what i had hoped for but i didn`t like the story and ended up skimming the last pages because of it. None of the characters had much development, Dave had some development but his brother? ugh, don`t get me started on the arrogant pig. But i don`t know, this book didn`t interest me, sadly.

Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne is a contemporary romance. Ashleigh Lands has given up the chance for a new life in America with her family, choosing to stay in London with her boyfriend, Lee Preston. When Lee cheats on her and quickly becomes an ex-boyfriend, Ashleigh loses herself in work and alcohol. Five months later, however, she’s ready for change and decides to reach for a new, empowered self. When window glazier Dave Croft shows up for a job at the dental practice where Ashleigh works, the two hit it off immediately. Ashleigh is elated—has her luck in love finally changed? Can she trust her gut feeling?

Gut Feeling left me with mixed feelings. I like that Ashleigh and Dave are each working towards being better people and opening themselves to each other, and that they both have issues to resolve. I liked the supportive friends and some of the intrigue brought on by the friends, ex's, and siblings. However, I quickly got annoyed with Ashleigh and her constant second guessing herself and putting herself down and equating having a man in her life as success. I understood some of it, and related to some of it. I hate conflict and confrontation too, but there are times when it is the best option for everyone involved- and the soon you do it the better. They do have heart to heart talks, but the majority of the worries that they each have do not get around to talking about. There were several times that I almost put the book down, but I still have trouble doing that.
Gut Feeling is a romance with plenty on introspection and good secondary characters.

I read reviews on Goodreads prior to reading. I am glad Victoria re-wrote and re-released her book on Netgalley. I think I have come to realize I love a good chick-lit book. One that is light hearted, has some laughs and a love interest. Overall, I really enjoyed this book!

Gut Feeling is a great light and easy read. I finished it in two sittings even with small children at home. The story reminded me of the song "Begin Again" by Taylor Swift because the main character, Ashleigh, cannot stop herself from comparing her new Beau to her scummy ex, Lee. I thought that some of the scenes could have used more details to give the story more depth. Early on in the book, I wanted to know so much more about what the characters were thinking and why. In particular the first date scene could have had much more depth but just fell too short. In the end, I'm still giving a ⭐⭐⭐. 5/5 review because even though the writing was a little immature at times, I still couldn't put it down and between sittings, I couldnt wait to get back to it.

This book was scattered, and it at times leave me not really knowing what is going on in the book. I just never understand or follow the book. I did not feel anything for the characters. The main characters was Ashleigh and Dave. There is a lot of cheating and sexual experiences in the book. After, reading the whole book I still could not tell you anything really about any of the characters other then some cheated and they did some sexual things and there was a lot of parties. Why? I got a kindle edition of this book for netgalley.

This is the story of Ashleigh Lands, a 20-something living in London with her boyfriend Lee Preston. He cheats on her, and as a result, she loses her self-confidence and doubts her ability to trust her instincts. She spirals into depression and alcohol abuse. After five months, she manages to shake herself out of her misery. She vows to become stronger. Around this time, she meets Dave and she begins to feel better about herself. She heads to Ibiza for a holiday with three of her friends. When she returns, she hears rumors that makes her believe that Dave also cheated on her. Now she has the choice -- will she believe the rumors or go with her gut instinct on the type of person Dave is?

This is an interesting book, although I was confused by some of the choices made by Asheligh. At times, she seemed less mature than a 20-something, and sometimes her reactions bordered on overly dramatic. Granted, having your boyfriend cheat on you is devastating. But I think most women pick themselves up and dust themselves off, then move on. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't relate to the way she dealt with the disappointments in her life.

I wish the book was edited more carefully. I'm not bothered by a few typos and punctuation problems. But if there are too many, my mind moves away from the story and focuses on correcting the problems.

There are redeeming qualities -- Ashleigh does become a stronger woman through her experiences!

A good read mostly, really focuses on how you need your friends to see you through the trials of relationships and breakups.
A bit predictable in places and without spoiling it for others, it took a very serious subject too frivolously. but the characters were engaging and the story drew you in.

A very sweet story with a lovely main character – I liked Ashleigh, though my fear of the dentist did make it hard for me to read her sometimes!

That said, there were a few times I was willing the action in this book to move forward. I found that by the end I was particularly strugging with this book.

I really liked this one!!!

I thought the characters were great, and the story even better! The author thought out the plot well, and definitely gave a lot of thought into the story line.

Although slightly predictable, this chick lit is full of charm and explores the difficulties of starting a new relationship well.
I sometimes felt a bit annoyed with the lead character Ashleigh as she seemed to make problems for herself. Mostly overthinking the small things and not necessarily listening to her gut feeling.
Ah enjoyable quick read that doesn’t require a lot of concentration.

It was sweet, but nothing more. The characters just made so much unnecessary problems and it was quite annoying. Just talk to each other! When they solved one problem, they would assume things and create another problem. And all of that because the characters didn't talk to each other.. Ashleigh was just really irritating. Why can't she just trust Dave. And the whole 'going to Ibiza' was just a minor event, which was a bummer.

This story was just all over the place and I didn't really like it.. It was also quite predictable.

Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne

3.5/5 Stars

Delightful easy to get lost in romcom.

Ashleigh a dental nurse, who after meeting Dave Croft, a gorgeous and kind window repaiman, finds herself in an impossible dilemma fight for her new romance or runaway to America where her family now lives.

Although I did enjoy the storyline, I found myself having to push forward from time to time. Some of Ashleigh's choices had me a tad frustrated. This is a lovely happy read, perfect for those days when you want to pick up something that's light and fast to read.

This was a cute and short story so it didn't take long to read and was very easy to get into. It had a good plot and the story flowed well. For the most part, it was a light-hearted story, but there were some emotional ups and downs. The characters were enjoyable although Ashley was a little on the dramatic side. But that said, both characters were very relatable so that made the story all the more engaging. Plenty of humor, wit, and romance to keep you glued till the last page! When you're in the mood for a light-hearted chick lit, this is the book to read.

A very satisfying read!

This book is such a good story about the things women go through and the feelings we have while in relationships. Do you trust your gut? Or is it trying to steer you wrong? This book has you rooting for her and hoping that she finds her happiness.
