Kat and Alice met accidentally in an airport headed home. Quickly they become best friends, having lunches and weekends away, despite obvious differences in their social class and home situations. Kat is married, no kids, owns her own business, and is extremely wealthy. Alice has 2 children, doesn't work outside the home, and is stretched financially. Then Kat's husband falls from his balcony to his death. Is it an accident? Is Alice covering for Kat? Is Kat setting Alice up to take the fall (pun somewhat intended) for her? As you read the book, remember everything Ms. Hunt writes because at some point it may come back as being important. Yes, this is one of those well written and thought out intelligent books. And while this wasn't a "knock your socks off" 5 star book, I will definitely be on the look out for more books from Ms. Hunt!

What a stunning debut for Margot Hunt. This book engrossed me with its complex characters in such a fast paced riveting story. I found the friendship between Alice & Kat to be both toxic and engaging on so many levels, it was twisted till the end. This book captivated me with its characters despite the overall plot being typical. I appreciated the richness of the writing, it was an easy to follow fast paced read that kept me engaged. I received a free e-copy of the book via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Mira.

Kat and Alice are 2 very different women...and yet they are best friends. When Kats husband dies the police start asking questions, not believing that it was an accident....how well do you know your best friend.

I could not put this book down, needing to know what was going to happen next. A fantastic page turner.

Thank you to Harlequin US and Canada via Netgalley for a copy of this book to read and review in return for my honest opinions

Kat and Alice become best friends after an accidental meeting at the airport. Even though they come from different backgrounds they find enough in common to form a strong bond. Kat and Alice share all their darkest and deadliest secrets but does one of the secrets result in the death of Kat’s husband Howard ? Was Howard’s death accidental or was it a pre-planned murder and will Kat and Alice’s friendship survive this storm.

Best Friends Forever is a fast paced engaging novel with well drawn intelligent characters. An ending that I did not see coming made it a real enjoyable read and will definitely look forward to reading more by Margot Hunt.

I would like to thank Harlequin & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Best friends forever and ever.

I hate to say I figured out the ending to this one early on, but it was still a well-written thriller that will keep you turning the pages to see how the story unfolds.

Alice and Nat are best friends from different sides of the track who have forged an unlikely friendship after meeting at the airport. Their personalities are well-developed and their relationship is fascinating in its dynamics. The chapters alternate between past and present which gives the reader an interesting sense of how their relationship has developed throughout the years. I found myself not connecting with either of the ladies, but then again, this is also what kept me reading - trying to understand the persona of characters for which I can’t relate to is something that fascinates me with reading.

Several aspects of police procedural part of the story seemed a bit far-fetched and unlikely to me. I had to suspend disbelief a few times in this area to really get into the nitty gritty of the story.

An interesting thriller, but for me personally, it wasn’t anything that I haven’t seen before.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start off by saying I'm so grateful that i got to read this, i have been eyeing this book for awhile and planned on buying it as soon as it came out. I literally read this book in a day, i could not put it down.

Kat Grant and Alice Campbell have a friendship forged in shared confidences and long lunches lubricated by expensive wine. Though they’re very different women—the artsy socialite and the struggling suburbanite—they’re each other’s rocks. But even rocks crumble under pressure. Like when Kat’s financier husband, Howard, plunges to his death from the second-floor balcony of their South Florida mansion.

OK so i instantly fell in love with these two women. The story starts off with such a bang with detectives showing up at Kat's home. Instantly you become Alice or at least that was how i felt, her feelings and thoughts were exactly what i was thinking while reading this. I'm not going to lie i thought i had this book figured out from the get-go but i was surely mistaken. Soon you find out Alice is basically a suspect in the murder of Howard, Alice's husband. The whole book goes from past to present of how it all lead to that moment, all the betrayal, secrets, and lies of the to women. The real question of what would you do and how far would you go for your best friend? Margot Hunt gets a huge kudos for writing this in depth wonderful story. I will be sure to read anything she writes.

Thanks again to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this. 5 stars!!!!!!!!!

I can not make up my mind how to rate this book. I had to finish it to see how it would end, but ,I really did not like the characters. The ending was a complete shock. I guess it says a lot of the author when I am hooked on a story line even though I do not like the characters

I was expecting a page-turning thriller when I started this, so perhaps that's why I felt so disappointed upon finishing it. It is more accurately a first-hand account of a woman who develops an unhealthy friendship with an unstable woman and is subsequently accused of murdering her best friend's husband. I suppose technically there is a twist at the end, although it wasn't very hard to predict. I had trouble identifying with the characters- they were neither likable nor interesting, and the plot seemed to lag, especially in the middle. It wasn't a terrible book, but just didn't fit the bill for me.

What an impressive debut by Margot Hunt! 4++++ stars!

Best Friends Forever is a fast paced and heart pumping thriller that grabs you from the first page. Let me ask you... how well do YOU know your friends?!

Kat Grant and Alice Campbell met one another for the first time at the airport. Kat and Alice are completely opposite from one another.. yet have built a strong connection. Kat Grant is a wealthy social butterfly who owns an art gallery married to Howard. Alice is married with two children.. and struggling living a middle class life.
Kat and Alice find that their friendship is what is holding them both together. Kat and Alice share every secret with one another... even the deadliest skeletons we all may have in our closets.....

One night... Kat's husband Howard is found dead in their beautiful mansion in Florida. What happened to Howard? The police start questioning what exactly unfolded that night that Howard died..... which he all of a sudden is declared a murder victim.

Alice starts freaking out and is trying to get a hold of Kat. BUT, of course no one can get a hold of Alice... except her family. Slowly.... dark and creepy details start to come forward about both Kat and Alice. Who is lying? Who is really responsible for Howard's death?

This book was an extremely impressive debut. The author fooled me... I definitely did not see that ending coming. WOW! Highly recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed this and am looking forward to seeing more from Margot Hunt.

Thank you to Netgalley, Harlequin, and Margot Hunt for an advanced arc in an exchange for an honest review.

Women cherish their friendships, in a time of crisis, we will do anything to support each other. Kat and Alice may lead very different lives, but that hasn’t stopped them from becoming fast friends. Alice knows that Kat has an unhappy marriage, her husband is a bully and a drunk. When he falls to his death from the second floor of their pricey Florida home, no one, least of all Kat. But the police don’t believe Howard’s death was an accident, they think he was murdered. Alice refuses to believe Kat had anything to do with her husband’s death. There’s just one problem, Kat won’t answer Alice’s calls or texts. It would seem Kat has retreated to her family’s loving embrace and her family won’t let Alice anywhere near Kat. I do love a twisted mystery, one that makes you doubt not only the characters, but your own judgement. Hunt does a fantastic job portraying the “fairer sex” and the things we are capable of
