I thought A Daughter’s Courage was well-written and an engaging story. Dorothy falls in love with ne’er do well, Robbie. The old saying that love is blind applies to Dorothy because she refuses to see Robbie’s faults and falls for his excuses every time. A Daughter’s Courage is a gritty and realistic family saga. A Daughter’s Courage is a story with drama, romance, hurt, friendship, anger, intrigue, grief and family. I thought the author captured the time period and locale. There is British slang included which can be discerned from the text. They have some interesting expressions. A Daughter’s Courage has a satisfying ending. I am giving A Daughter’s Courage 4 out of 5 stars (I liked it). I look forward to reading more books by Kitty Neale.

A super read about falling for sweet words from the wrong man, I don't know many people who have not fallen for the wrong person at some point but I just loved that even though she was heartbroken and thing were tough Dottie never gave up and thank goodness for Adrian.

Loved this book I couldn’t put it down. You are drawn into Dottie’s life from page one. I was willing her to realise what Robbie Ferguson was like. Unfortunately they say love is blind, and Dottie was so in love with Robbie she refused to see his faults and always accepted his excuses. A great read that I highly recommend.

I am a great fan of Kitty Neale and 'A Daughter’s courage' is another great read. From the very first page I was hooked and felt all the characters and emotions come to life - there were unexpected twists and turns and I couldn’t read each chapter fast enough. I really connected with the characters - the ending was enthralling and unexpected, especially for Robbie!

A wonderfully heart warming yet gripping book. This wonderfully written book gives us the insight into post war London, of a family living on the poverty line yet full of love and of a set of brothers who have it all in the material sense yet have not love between them. Dottie is living with disabled parents, her dad came home from war a broken man and her mum afraid to leave the house, its down to Dottie to work. So when Dottie meets and starts dating Robbie you cant help but be happy for her, until his true character is shown. When Dottie finds herself pregnant she also finds herself alone, Robbie has done a vanishing act. From here on in the book is gripping and at time heartbreaking. Yet as you read you really find out that the EastEnders of London are fiercely loyal to friends and those they love. By the end of the book I felt sorry for Robbie, they say pride comes before a fall and in Robbie's case this is very true. Another wonderful book by the talented Kitty Neale

Can Dorothy help her mother and father when heartbroken. A very moving emotional book.

Dorothy falls in love with Robbie, and although everyone else around her can see what a low-down evil person he is, Dorothy's love for him thrives until she witnesses his brutal actions for herself. It left me asking if love can be that blind. Robbie's brother Adrian saves Dorothy when she discovers she is pregnant. A well written story, frustrating at times because I found it hard to believe any woman could be so blind sighted..

When Dorothy meets Robbie, she falls for him quickly and it’s not long before the pair are engaged. But then an unexpected pregnancy puts everything at risk, and Dorothy is left alone – with Robbie nowhere to be seen.

Heartbroken, Dorothy picks up the pieces of her life as a working girl in Battersea helping to support her mother and father. But before long, things start to become difficult. Her father’s health is worsening, money is tight and worst of all, Robbie hasn’t come back for her.

Can Dorothy find a way back to happiness in the face of real adversity? Will she have the courage to make it on her own – or is someone else waiting in the wings to save her?

Gritty and moving, this is the perfect read for fans of Dilly Court and Maggie Hope.

This was a great story from start to finish with lots of twists to the storyline, well written and nicely descriptive.

I love the end and how Robbie ends his story you really hope that something not very nice happens to him, and the story doesn't disappoint!!
