Right - this is not really a standalone book. Not in the same way that the others were. Even if you have read only one of the previous volumes, I think that you will derive a great deal of enjoyment from what is, essentially, a great big epilogue. This is a wonderful drawing together of threads. Full of emotion from heartache to joy. If you love the Kavanaghs, this is not one to miss. |
This holiday novella catches up with the Kavanagh clan and what they are up to now . Some of them are married some are dating and some are going to get engaged . The family is a loud rambunctious family that love and care for each other . There are some fun times and some sad times that are going on but at Christmas all is there happy and glad to be alive . The characters are well written and you get to know a little bit more about what is happening in the lives of the boys . The story was good and I liked the Kavanagh men but to me there was so many points of view you kind of got lost with everyone talking . You never really get the closure to everyone's stories . Other then that the story was good and it is sad to see the Kavanagh's go to their happily ever afters . I was given this book from the publisher for an honest review . |
What a perfect ending to what has been an incredible series!!! After falling in love with the boisterous but loving Kavanagh family at the beginning I am incredibly sad to see it come to end. I cried multiple times reading this book, both in sadness and happiness. I felt as though I was saying goodbye to family. Not just characters in a book. Sarah, you have done these boys justice and should be proud. I’m gutted we aren’t getting Jimmy’s or Casey’s story. In a way it kind of feels incomplete without them getting their own book. The little snippets we got in this novella just wasn’t enough for me. But with that being said I was incredibly happy to see all brothers and (adopted) sister get their happily ever afters. |
Book Review Title: Kavanagh Christmas Series: Kavanagh Legends #5 Author: Sarah Robinson Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: November 7, 2017 Cliff Hanger: No 4 Stars *This story is for mature audiences only. Contains explicit scenes and language intended for adults 18+ Synopsis: The heartfelt holiday conclusion to the Kavanagh Legends family saga revisits all the couples that readers have fallen in love with throughout the series. An angsty and loving Christmas novella, it’s the perfect goodbye to these Irish MMA fighters and a glimpse into what the future holds for them. With the Christmas season fast approaching, the entire Kavanagh family is feeling anything but the holiday spirit. Commitments are questioned, relationships are tense, and bickering is nonstop. However, when a crisis strikes and the family realizes that they might lose one of their own, they’ll come together to remember the reason for the season is first, and foremost, love and family. With their own heartwarming HEAs, Sarah Robinson’s Kavanagh Legends novels can be read together or separately: BREAKING A LEGEND #1 SAVING A LEGEND #2 BECOMING A LEGEND #3 CHASING A LEGEND #4 KAVANAGH CHRISTMAS #5 “Fans of Lori Foster’s SBC Fighters series will love the MMA atmosphere of [Sarah] Robinson’s Legends.”—Library Journal “This endearing story showcases Keira and Quinn’s easy banter, familiar warmth, and unquenchable heat.” – Publisher’s Weekly Starred Review, on Chasing a Legend “One of my favorite MMA books to date.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken, on Breaking a Legend “Those Kavanaghs really know how to make a girl swoon.”—New York Times bestselling author Katy Evans “Saving a Legend is a gripping and sexy MMA romance with characters you’ll be rooting for long after you finish reading. If you haven’t read this series yet, go back and read every wonderful story and then top it off with this very heartfelt novella. I fell in love with this family more and more as I read each book. This one though, wow! I laughed at all the banter and outrageous things this family says and does, I swooned as the brothers courted their wives, and I cried throughout the book. There are so many touching moments. I hated to say goodbye to this series, but so happy I found closure for each and every member. If you haven’t read any of the Kavanagh Legends books, then this isn’t the book for you. You will be lost. So, my recommendation is to read the books in order and savor every beautiful moment with the Kavanagh clan. ARC kindly provided by NetGalley for an honest review. |
If you haven’t read the previous four books then don’t read this one until you have as it does have spoilers. I did this and got so confused with which family member was who and who they were with as each chapter was about a different Kavanagh. Although this happened it was a really good get together for Christmas with the whole family attending, and it parts it was a bit weepy too. I loved Dee Kavanagh and the way she talked in her Irish broag it was so funny, and when she was always there to take on her grandkids at a moments notice. This was a good ending to a great family. Can’t wait to find out what Sarah Robinson will be onto next. |
Final Score - 5 I Don't Want This to End Stars! This was a bittersweet ending for me. As the first series of books I've ever read by Sarah Robinson, it was hard to let this Irish family go. I've laughed with them, cried with them, loved with them. They feel like family to me. I hate saying goodbye - it feels too final and I've never been good at it. If this book is indeed the end, then it was a beautiful glimpse into the future for this loud, boisterous, beautiful family. From eldest son to youngest grandchild - you will see how their lives turn out and all I can say is BRAVO Ms. Robinson. But ... can we have a spinoff? Perhaps with the grandchildren keeping the spirit of the Kavanagh's alive? |
OH MY! I'm not sure what I expected going into this book especially knowing it was the last of the series, but I can tell you that I didn't expect my heart to hurt as much as it did. This story starts off with Dee's point of view, as the matriarch of the Kavanagh family she has always been the backbone that not only keeps the family going but the person that is the true heartbeat of the family. I love the Kavanagh family and while I love each of the couples for various reasons I absolutely love Dee and Seamus. This story takes us on a holiday journey with each of the couples through various points of view, there are happy times, sad times, ecstatic times, and downright gut wrenching times, but through it all is the deep seeded love of the entire family. I would advise you to keep some tissues within grabbing distance because there a few moments that just sneak up on you and before you'll have tears streaming down your face just like I did, I also had a few hiccuping sobs at a certain point of the story (believe me you'll know what I am referring to when you read the book). I am sad that this series has come to an end but I can honestly say that Sarah Robinson did a wonderful job with wrapping up the series with Kavanagh Christmas, we find out what happens to each of the couples and get a little peak into the future as well. Please keep in mind that this series must be read in order with Kavanagh Christmas as the final book because it is a total spoiler for any of the books that have come before it. |
I received a netgalley copy for review purposes. What a great way to end the series. I feel like I have been through so much with this family as the series progressed. This story was packed full of all of the emotions. I laughed and cried and my heart was filled by the love this family has for each other. Make sure you read all of the series first to avoid spoilers and to make sure you're caught up on the family before you read Kavanagh Christmas. |
Sarah Robinson writes a heartfelt, holiday-themed conclusion to the Kavanagh Legends saga, a series of four books that detail a rough-and-tumble Irish family in the Woodlawn neighborhood of the Bronx. The Kavanagh family own and operate a mixed martial arts gym, Legends. “Kavanagh Christmas” takes place several years after the fourth book in the series, “Chasing a Legend.” Seamus and Dee, the patriarch and matriarch of the family, have five sons (Rory, Kieran, Kane, Quinn and Jimmy) and one adopted daughter (Casey.) Each son (and the daughter) have a significant other, and three of the couples have children, which makes for a crowded cast of characters, and a little confusing for readers who didn’t read the original saga. It was good to see what was essentially a festive extended epilogue to a much-enjoyed series. If you have read Robinson’s Kavanagh Legends saga, and you want to know more about the family, and get some bonus stories along the way, pick up this heartwarming conclusion. |

Whenever I see stories of where couples have already gotten their HEAs, I am always excited to learn more, but also wary because there tends to be problems as well. It was good to see this family again, issues and all, but it had me crying my eyes out as well. This story had me feeling all the feels. I enjoyed seeing more of them. I love this family! This was a good story. There are some hot love scenes, good family times, and some family issues in this story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from the publisher. |
Over the course of this series, I have not only fallen in love with each Hero and heroine, but I have fallen deeply in love with the Kavanagh family as a whole. Their bond is so strong and they have shown it with each novel. The love they share and the strength of their support system is unlike any other. Each time they banded together to help one of their own melted my heart and only intensified my love for every one of these characters. Kavanagh Christmas was the ultimate ending and provided me with a bittersweet goodbye. I hated to see this series end and truly hope to one day have them grace my kindle once again, but this novella gave me everything I could have wanted to know that they are all truly living the happily ever after they so much deserved. The family is such a good family that has done so much for each other and their community that anything short of HEA for each and every one of them would be a travesty. Even having read and loved all the previous books in this series, not one of them choked me up like this story did. I just hated saying goodbye. I really do hope they make a return someday. |
I have loved this series so when i heard we were getting too catch up with our favourite family in a Christmas special i couldn't wait. This might be a short catch up with each couple but it really packed a whole lot of emotion!! Because this is a novella i'm not going to give you each couple's catch up. I will say sit back relax have your tissues at the ready because this family will make you Laugh, Cry, Swoon, Break your heart and build it back up again. Get ready to fall in love all over again, it was so much more than i was expecting from this novella absolutely perfect. |

I entered into this one quickly with it being one of the few holiday ones I will read. This is set in a time calendar with them all in it this time. Far warning though do not read this in public like I did at times in my lunch room at work and when tears escaped had to down play it lol. So have a box of tissues handy it will take one or two. This was a delight with so much packed into this one it was overflowing. I felt as if I stepped into home though feeling as if I personally knew them all. Many surprises with to be expected with this family with also from author a bonus at end of end. This one is also a bittersweet one but glad I read it. |

4.5 Kavanagh Loving Stars * * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free OH, MY how I love this Irish Brood! This is the perfect look at the entire family over the past years... catching up with all of them... who is in a good place, who is finally making their relationships legal... and who is coming back to the fold to live in the hood once again. I fell hard for this series and each entry had a central theme for each of the siblings with the core of the Father and Mother holding them all together. The family had ethics, gave back to the Community and hearts as big as all New York and all the boroughs. If you have been following this series... This is a MUST. I would not read this, though, if you are in the middle of the Kavanagh Journey as there is so much from the past, present and future to enjoy. If anything... It is the perfect Carrot to have you start the series and binge read it...with this as the Icing on the Kavanagh Holiday Cake. 5 BEAUTIFUL KAVANAGH STARS!! A beautiful touching conclusion to the Kavanagh's stories. I have loved the Kavanagh's and sad to see it end, but what better way then a Christmas celebration. This book has all the feels and will pull on your heartstrings. If you haven't started this series what are you waiting for. Sarah Robinson is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to find out what is next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from via NetGalley. |

It takes a lot for a novella to get 5 stars from me. I typically am not a huge novella fan because I feel like so much of the story is missing. This novella was perfect. It wrapped up all of the couples lives that we have come to know and love through this series. It was short in length, but still managed to make me feel so much and yes there were tears. It was real and heartfelt and I loved it! It was the perfect way to wrap this great series up. - If you haven't read the other books in this series, this is definitely going to contain spoilers. |

Another fantastic book by Sarah Robinson. This is a great addition to the Kavanagh series and I would recommend reading them in order to get the best reading pleasure out of this series. Really should give this author and her books ago, you will love them both. |
This novella perfectly rounds off the brilliant Kavanagh Legends series. With chapters featuring all five brothers, cousin Casey, as well as Kavanagh matriarch Dee. And stories that are both happy and sad, along with some sexy times and laughter. This honestly had everything I love about the Kavanaghs and the series as a whole. Plus it really was great to read, even if the epilogue did have me in floods of tears!! And I'm sure anyone who is a fan of the Kavanagh Legends series is going to adore this Kavanagh Christmas novella. |
