A haunting thriller that I found very hard to read, especially late at night, but it was gripping nevertheless. |
Can a simple librarian finally solve 2 strange deaths? I read the previous book, Local Poet, awhile back not realizing that there would be a second one featuring some secondary characters from the first book. I was quite pleased when I started reading Local Artist and discovered some familiar characters. It's rare that I like a second, or later, book more than the first but I have to say that this was the case with Local Artist. The type of mystery, the location of the murder (a library), the heightened danger, a thrilling final showdown, and Paul Trembling's easy to read writing style made this book a quick, and fun, read. Also, as an American reader, I enjoyed a short escape into the authentic life of a country both so similar and different from my own. (I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.) |

I found this to be an easy reading mystery with good characters and plot. I look forward to reading more by this author. I received a copy from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my honest review. |

Reasonable, easy to read book but the ending was below average.... still enjoyed it though. Its not normally my genre but gave it a go and was fairly impressed |
