I tried reading this one and couldn't get even a few chapters in. It's a DNF for me, unfortunately. Just not my cup of tea.

This was good! It was a new author for me, but I would read more from this author after reading this one.

What did I just read? The book has a naive religious woman, going from never been kissed to being ready to give a BJ within days? Hints of evil omens, a random mystery...the whole time I kept thinking this was too similar to Fifty Shades and not in a good way.

DNF at 34 %.

This kind of books are probably not my cup of tea. It was very unbelievable, I rolled my eyes quite often and by the 34 % of the book I had enough. Just what kind of employer asks his employee if she will kiss him, after 1 or 2 days they met? There was no relationship development, no chemistry, nothing.

Gina Jones' novel is absolutely perfect - fun, sexy, and an easy summer read. Julia and Jonas have such chemistry on the page, and the addition of Sidney gives this story a real-life quality. Highly recommend.

I am so glad that His Secret is part of a series as I am ready to find out what happens next. I often find books that I am keen to read but this book was so different I was finding any excuse to get to my Kindle! So sorry to my manager…

Julia who didn’t have the best start in life moves on from the family that took her in. She is tasked with getting a job and building her own life for herself. Desperate to get to Paris to study there she take a job as a nanny.
Julia starts her job and begins to build a motherly relationship with Sidney, the little girl that she is charged with looking after. Suddenly enter Sidney’s dad Jonas. If you are love Jane Eyre as much as I do then you will love this book as much as I do.

Soon a relationship is built quickly between Julia and Jonas and you can quickly tell that they are falling in love. Jonas is a character that you can’t help but love although he is a mysterious character who is hiding a secret.

This is a modern story that I hope will bring Jane back from the past.

I am blown away by Gina A. Jones' first novel! This book has romance, spice, excitement, and suspense. I would say there is an element of psychological thriller included. I found myself constantly talking aloud to the characters in the book, and saying things like, "She's the one." "Woah!" "Oh no! I can't believe this."
I loved Julia and Sidney, and Natalie. I didn't trust Cathy or Erin. I both loved, hated, and mistrusted Jonas. My heart broke for Sidney. I want the relationship to work out, and then I don't want their relationship to work. This book is full of contradictions, chaos, control, and love. Add in murder, love affairs, secrets, and chaos and this book is irresistible! I can't wait to read the other two books in the series.
I am rating this book 5 *****stars. I highly recommend it to readers. Disclosure: This book contains sexual scenes and curse language.
I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

3.5 stars
This story has me so perplexed for many reasons. It's a bit bi-polar, and I'm not sure this story quite knows what it wants to be. First, it's touted as a "carnal" read. And it definitely does have some of that in it. But there is a lot of God/religion in it. Our heroine Julia is very young, naive, very spiritual, and a virgin to boot. She lives with a pastor and his wife. After her parents were killed, she was taken in and raised by them. She basically takes care of the family/children. But, she has her own hopes and dreams - she wants to go to culinary school in France. She gets a position as a nanny to Sidney, daughter of the mysterious widower Jonas Fairbanks. And things are definitely not quite right in the Fairbanks household. Sidney calls her father Jonas. There are strange phone calls, even stranger letters Julia finds to someone named Eve, secrets around every corner. Julia and Jonas fall in instalove, and she is naive enough not to demand answers to all the questions that are prickling her mind, and when she does, those questions are deflected. It's all very strange, ends in one hell of a cliffhanger, and I'm still no certain what is going on, but will definitely be reading book 2 to try to figure it out!! The writing itself is well done, if not a little bit too descriptive of even the most mundane things.

Secrets, lies, romance, mystery and a cliffhanger awaits you in the first book of the series. I am awaiting the next book. I recommend this if you don't mind the cliffhanger ending.

I found the first few chapters a little hard going but oh so glad I carried on!
It has a little bit of everything thrown into the mix, erotica, romance, suspense and twists galore!
The character of Julia was sweet and naive and endears herself to the readers of the book.
The storyline once it got going kept me flipping the pages, so desperately wanting to know all the secrets!
The cliffhanger at the end though.......
will send you searching for book two straight away!

I was grateful to receive a free copy of His Secret in exchange for an honest review. Great book. It kept me engaged the entire time. I quickly read the book because I really wanted to know what "The Secret" was. To my dismay, there was no conclusion. I made it to the end to discover the book ended, but the story continued in Volume 2 Her Secret. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I avoid these types of books at all cost, because I don't like to be "left hanging." Now I am irritated, that I will never get to see what the secret was. Ughhh. Two Stars for this book. I would not recommend unless you have access to both volumes.

A charming romance book that has a slight spiritual hint. The characters were likable. Story has a mystery element.

This is the story of Julia who wants to be a chef in Paris. She gets a job as a nanny to a little girl named Sidney. Jonas is an entrepreneur and Julia's employer. An attraction between them develops but can it survive all the secrets and lies of the house? A warning for readers, the book does end on a cliffhanger but the next book is already out so you don't have to wait.

I received a copy of the book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved, Julia who was so curious and oddly innocent. Who could believe Jonas had that many secrets! T his just keeps you guessing and wanting more

A very young virgin girl assumes that meeting the man of her dreams was by chance.... she's smitten with him even before taking the Nanny job he's offering.
With him everything's very secret, and she'll soon find out why.

Very suspenseful, very sexy, great characters and story line
