'Peanut Butter and Jelly' by Ben Clanton is actually the third entry in the Narwhal and Jelly series. I absolutely love this graphic novel series for very young readers.

Jelly has a new snack and when he realizes that all Narwhal eats is waffles, he tries to get Narwhal to try something new. To say that Narwhal goes a bit overboard is a bit of an understatement. Can Jelly get his friend back to normal? There is also a kind of backup story featuring Super Waffle and Strawberry Sidekick.

I love these two very odd friends. I love the gentle humor and I wish I had a little kid around to share this with so we could both crack up laughing. I actually look forward to each installment in this series.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Tundra Books, Penguin Random House Canada, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

Once again, Narwhal continues to make us laugh out loud! This was a perfect book for my son, who is a picky eater, to read. He took his time and reflected on why we try new things. Ben Clanton is masterful with this series!

My daughter is a big fan of Narwhal and Jelly, so we were both excited to start this title. It has the gentle humor and growth and development within a friendship that I love so much about this series. Narwhal and Jelly have their disagreements, and though they always make up it is clear that each is their own person with their own opinions and needs - it is clear that they build consensus by compromise, and support each other's differences. Does that sound deep for a kids' book? Maybe I've read enough of them by now (kiddo is eight) that I'm starting to look harder at them! I felt the reading level and content were appropriate for my eight year old, but they are appropriate for younger readers as well, and would be fun for new readers (4-6 yrs old).

Fun graphic story. This was an adorable story that will appeal to children while still teaching important lessons on trying new things and self restraint. My daughter found it very funny, and got the lessons (we will see how that translates into any vegetables getting eaten) with little prompting.

Did you hear the rumor about Narwhal and his new peanut butter obsession? I don't want to spread it...

PB&J? That's totally my jam! At least, that's what Narwhal would say at the end of this cute book. Ben Clanton has managed to make a fan out of my daughter, who loves Narwhal and Jelly. A few aquatic animal facts are snuck in the middle of the story (don't think I didn't notice!). The idea of the story is an adorable Narwhal who only eats waffles and the friend who suggests trying something new. In this case, it's a peanut butter cookie. But in true Narwhal story fashion, things get out of control, from one extreme to the other: now only wanting to eat peanut butter.

Young readers will love the silliness of this book as well as the inserted Peanut Butter and Floyd comic. The theme: try new things, but maybe not overdo it. I appreciate that the story took a pause when Jelly pointed out that some are allergic to peanuts. This would be an excellent read for grades 2nd-4th. Cute story and a great addition to any Narwhal library! I received a complimentary copy from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Goodreads Rating: 4 stars

Simply adorable, as expected. Narwhal is surprised to find out that there are other foods that aren’t waffles, but when he tries, he becomes obsessed with them! Jelly remains the voice of reason while still encouraging his friend to be himself.

Really, there’s not much else I can say about this aside from go read it! While I’m not the biggest fan of the interjections, I can overlook them for the bright and colorful style and the general adorableness of Narwhal and Jelly’s friendship.

Peanut Butter and Jelly is the third book in the Narwhal and Jelly series of easy reader level graphic novels by Ben Clanton. Each of this adorable books is able to stand on their own, but they are so cute that you will want to read them all. This volume is currently scheduled for release on March 27 2018.

Narwhal and Jelly are back and Narwhal has a new obsession, peanut butter! He's so obsessed he even wants to change his name to Peanut Butter! Ever-sensible Jelly isn't so sure that's the best idea, but is all for Narwhal trying new things (instead of just eating waffles all the time, no matter how delicious waffles are). In this third book, Narwhal and Jelly star in three new stories about trying new things, favorite foods and accepting who we are. Always funny and never didactic, this underwater duo charms again through their powerful combination of positive thinking, imagination and joyfulness.

Peanut Butter and Jelly is another fun collection of stories by Clanton. What kid (or adult) has not become a little too interested in a new food, hobby, or fandom? Narwhal takes it a bit to the extreme, as usual, but that is what makes the story so entertaining. I loved the interaction between Narwhal and Jelly (as usual) and the combination of learning about finding new things and moderation along side the wacky and fun ways Narwhal goes about things. It is a fun and delightful read that is never overwhelming or preachy despite the lessons inherent to the story.

I really enjoy the Narwhal and Jelly books and think that people will like this one as well. You definitely don't have to have read the other two books in the series to enjoy this one but it would help. Narwhal discovers that there is food other than waffles and becomes obsessed with peanut butter. Very cute but I felt like it was a lot shorter than previous Narwhal books.

Narwhal and Jelly are so funny, and this book is just as good as the rest! My kids laughed all the way through. Narwhal tries peanut butter for the first time and decides to change his name to reflect his new favorite food.

Read this story to my kids (who love waffles) and they loved it! Not a long read, just right for holding a seven year old's attention. Super cute story as usual with the Narwhal books with some fun facts mixed in.

I love Narwhal's enthusiasm for peanut butter (and for name changes)! My younger daughter loved it, too, especially the magic-type changes. This is a funny little cartoon with memorable characters, and I look forward to reading more of them!

Another funny adventure with Narwhal and Jelly with the love of waffles and peanut butter bringing them together. Their special friendship and sharing of food loves will connect with young readers and bring many chuckles for all.

Another fantastic addition to the Narwhal and Jelly series. Ben Clanton has created such endearing and hilarious characters akin to Mo Willem's Elephant and Piggie. Narwhal and Jelly are the best of pals, having adventures, eating waffles and discovering new delicacies. One of the really special things about the series and Peanut Butter and Jelly in particular is the "Facts" pages where Clanton gives you some non fiction information about narwhals. jellyfish and other sea dwelling creatures. Peanut Butter and Jelly is a clever comic, perfect for the early or reluctant reader. It's silly and fun and perfect for those just starting their journey as readers. In a surprise twist, Clanton has also added and comic within the comics with the Super Waffle and Strawberry Sidekick adventures. A simple concept executed so brilliantly. The drawings are simple and oh so cute, you will want real life Narwhal's and Jelly's to add a little flair to your book shelf.

Super cute! I love this series so much, and this new edition definitely lives up to the rest. It has humour perfect for the age group, and it's not too cheesy to be annoying to an adult who might help with reading.

I love this series! And I love peanut butter (I just made peanut butter cookies this weekend! Jelly and I would be bffs, for sure). Hilarity ensues when Jelly introduces Narwhal to the aforementioned peanut butter...and in true Narwhal fashion he takes things to extremes! Fans of this series will delight as always.

I received this book as an ARC and am new to the series. But, oh man this book has made me a believer. The book is just adorable. Not adorable in the annoying cutesy fart way, but adorable in an uncluttered visually appealing way. This book, and I would have to assume series seems like it would launch a 1000 memes for adults and still be silly and approachable for young readers. A very uncommon combination in books. I enjoyed the lighthearted tone, the graphics, and occasional interesting science fact thrown in. (Good for trivia night as an adult.) I would highly recommend this novel to the 2nd-5th grade reader.

As a side note, I can definitely empathize with Narwhal's obsession with his new favorite food. I too find myself feeling like Narwhal. You may call me Madam von peanut.
