These books are adorable, clever, and a wonderful way to expose emerging readers to a graphic novel format without being overwhelming.

Another stellar Narwhal and Jelly book! This is one of my favourite recent series for younger kids! In this one, Narwhal reveals some interesting things about himself (his names!) and learns to love peanut butter!

This one one of the most adorable books that I have ever read. So cute.

For months, a young friend of mine has been begging me to read a Narwhal and Jelly book. He laughs so hard just thinking about the series that I had to give it a try.

Now I see why he loves that goofy Narwhal soooooo much. That wacky whale is just right to appeal to a young reader's sense of fun. Even at my advanced age, I loved the absurdity, the hyperbole and the illustrations and the friendship between Narwhal and Jelly. I also loved the way that Clanton snuck in a few sea-facts amidst the hilarity. I'll definitely be recommending this to other young readers I work with.

In which Jelly convinces Narwhal to try a peanut butter cookie. As expected, Narwhal takes things to the extreme.

I absolutely adore the Narwhal and Jelly books! Peanut Butter and Jelly is just as fun as the other two, and left me eager for another...that's the problem with ARCs, it makes the waiting for the next book much much longer!

More Narwhal and Jelly please!!

Peanut Butter and Jelly by Ben Clanton from Penguin Random House Canada, is book 3 in this cute graphic series which is due out 27 March, 2018. The art is super simple and adorable.

It's a short book, 64 pages, with 2 small stories, a mini-comic 'by Peanut Butter and Floyd', and a 2 page spread with facts about sea creatures great and small from blue whales to sea cucumbers. There is also a useful table of contents in the front end of the book.

I try hard to avoid comparisons with books I'm reviewing, but this series reminds me in a very good way of Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants, silly and fun and with good underlying messages which aren't preachy and don't get in the way of a good story.

The primary audience for Narwhal and Jelly is in the 6-9 year old range, but quite fun for adults as well. It would make a good read-together, short and sweet (with lots of scope for silly dialogue and voices for the reader). :)

Four stars, adorable!

This is the first book I've read in the Narwhal and Jelly series and it won't be the last! A fun story about friendship and favourite foods (a great choice to read to a picky eater!) with lively illustrations. I really like how you got not only the main story but a comic drawn by Narwhal and Jelly, plus some fun facts that relate to the theme of food. Definitely a good choice for young graphic novel fans.

This is the third book in the Narwhal and Jelly series of graphic novels. To give you an idea of grade level, the first book in the series was around a Guided Reading level M which makes it an end of 2nd grade beginning of 3rd grade level book for an average reader.

If you aren't familiar with this series, these are some of the cutest juvenile graphic novels you'll run into. This third volume is setup with 3 short stories, a fact page and a comic strip within the book purportedly created by the characters. All of these parts are related but can also be read as their own short stories if necessary. I feel that you are also safe reading these out of order. This is not a series where you must read the first one to know what is happening in the third.

They are silly and cute, the illustrations are bright and uncluttered. I work in a library and recommend the series often, this one is yet another great addition to the series.

The series is getting progressively more goofy, but I know some kids at my library who would really enjoy it.

I absolutely love the Narwhal books by Ben Clanton. This third installment is just as cute as the first two. Simple illustrations yet incredibly cute. I hope there are many more books in this series.
