The felted illustrations were the main reason I requested this book. They were a true delight. The plot was pleasant enough, but I could have spent three times as long just admiring the images.

Oh my goodness this book is the epitome of cute! The illustrations are adorable. The story is wonderful as well. Raccoon spends his day helping Fox even though he just wants to play with his friend. There aren’t many kids’ books out there that teach the value of putting others before yourself so I really liked this book’s moral. There are lots of other great supporting characters in this book so I hope this will be a series.

I absolutely love this story about Fox and Raccoon! The story of Raccoon helping Fox complete her tasks is so adorable and works so beautifully at the end. I love the use of felted animals and photographs to tell the story. It is such a neat way to illustrate a picture book. The workman ship on the animals and backgrounds fill the book with such wonder and joy. I found this book to be one that anyone who picks it up will enjoy; not only for the story, but for the artisanship of the pages as well.

I enjoyed “Fox and Raccoon.” It was a sweet story about friendship and kindness. Normally, I’m not a fan of illustrations done in this style, but I really liked them in this book. They were still bright and cheerful, which really added to the story.

Raccoon and Fox are the best of friends. They love nothing more than spending their days together, whether they were busy playing games or spending time relaxing looking at the clouds, they really enjoyed each other's company! One day, Raccoon heads over to Fox's house, ready for fun. But, Fox was really busy that day. Raccoon knew the faster he helped Fox with her chores, the faster they could go play. So, Raccoon jumps in and helps wherever Fox needs help, running many errands to help Fox.
I really loved the fact that both Fox and Raccoon were very willing to help one another out. No questions asked, they were happy helping one another! This is a wonderful tale of a beautiful, selfless friendship that is absolutely adorable! The illustrations really bring the story to life and are engaging for young readers.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review!

'Fox and Raccoon' by Lesley-Anne Green is the first in a new series of books called Juniper Hollow. Based on this one, I hope there are many more.

Fox and Raccoon are friends and every day they do things together. Today is different because Fox is busy. Raccoon tries to help by running errands for Fox. They are things like running to the post office to mail letters or buying eggs. The tasks seem endless, but Raccoon never seems to mind since he likes Fox so much. What could all these tasks be for?

The story is told with photos of felt animals in crafted environs, and the pictures are just adorable. The story itself is sweet. The savvy reader will catch on to what is happening, but that won't spoil the surprise that is Fox and Raccoon.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Tundra Books, Penguin Random House Canada, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Sweet story of two good friends! I like the way the community works together to help each other. The illustrations were really cute and detailed. I think young children will enjoy this story. Might make a nice B-day gift for a little one as the book features a b-day party!

In Juniper Hallow friends like to help friends out, and that's just what Raccoon does for Fox. Raccoon goes to Fox's house to play, but Fox has too many projects to do to play right away. Raccoon doesn't seem to mind at all, and quickly lends a helping hand. After each project is complete, another one starts, and Raccoon just keeps helping. When he returns to Fox's house after one errand, Raccoon can't find Fox. Where could he be? Raccoon is in for a big surprise!

Fox and Raccoon is a charming book with stunning illustrations made out of needle-felted wool, balsa wood, and fabric. The story is cute and the illustrations are fantastic!

I loved all aspects of this–the story, the message, and most of all, the unique “illustrations.” I’d highly recommend this to any little one or their parent(s) who loves woodland creatures and whimsical patterns.

Raccoon stops by Fox’s house one day hoping to play, but Fox is so busy with other things that Raccoon decides to help her out by running errands all around Juniper Hollow. It gets to be late in the day by the time Raccoon finishes his last errand, but he’s in for a surprise when he gets back to Fox’s house!

The message shows how it’s important to be selfless and help others out when they obviously need help (of course asking first is always a good idea too), rather than focusing solely on your needs and wants.

The book is “illustrated” with needle-felted characters in adorably whimsical diorama settings. The characters would have been cute if they were drawn, but they’re even more cute as three dimensional fuzzy friends. I would love to see a companion book on how to craft your own Juniper Hollow characters–maybe as the series goes along, there will be!

What is it about?

Fox and Raccoon are best friends. Raccoon wants to play today, but Fox is super busy. Raccoon knows that if he helps Fox that Fox might be able to play with him after. He spends all day helping Fox.

Was it good?

It was a cute story about friendship and helping the people you care about. I'd love to read it to my children in the hopes that Raccoon's selfless behavior rubs off on them. The pictures look like photos of stuffed animals in a toy town, and as such can help fire up the imaginary games your own kids play with their stuffed friends. You could even re-enact part of the story with your kids.

This is a fun sweet little story of pitching in and helping. It is a sweet way to teach children to put others needs above our own desires.
I think even very young children would enjoy the delightfully detailed illustrations, and they could easily relate to the tasks raccoon takes on.
The illustrations are very sweet, and for me, they were the biggest joy of the book.
I received this as a free ARC through NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada
Tundra Books. No favorable review was required. It was my pleasure to provide my honest review.

NetGalley was kind enough to gift my daughter and I a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

With this book my 7 year old daughter and I agree, it has some excellent messages and stunning pictures but we found out quickly that we weren't the target ausience. There were poignant messages within like how to be a helpful, loving friend and how doing good deeds reaps it's own rewards and some unexpected ones too. The morals were not lost on my 7 year old though it was a bit rudimentary for her and early on it was easy for her to suss out what the end reveal would be. She is an intermediate level reader so maybe a slightly younger demographic would be preferable.

Fox and Raccoon are best friends who spend lots of time together. One day, though, Raccoon finds that Fox is too busy to play. Raccoon jumps right in to help his friend with all of her tasks.
This is a cute story, and the illustrations are awesome! They feature felt animals with paper backgrounds that make it seem like you could feel the textures. The colors complement one another well. My kids said it was "so cool!"
I read a copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book was absolutely adorable. I loved the pictures. It was a good message about being a good, helpful friend. I figured out partway through what was going to happen at the end, but I think kids will love it.

Fox and Raccoon was provided to me free in exchange for my honest review through Netgalley. This review is composed of my own thoughts.

Fox and Raccoon is the cute tale of a Fox and a Raccoon who are friends. Fox and Raccoon played almost every day, and enjoyed each other's company. Raccoon went to Fox's house one morning, however, Fox was way too busy to play. Raccoon decided he would help Fox with doing her chores and began completing them. After each chore, Raccoon would return to Fox's home to see if she could play. But each time, Fox still had something to be done and was to busy to play. So Raccoon would start off with the next task. Finally, at the end of the day, after the last chore complete, and Raccoon returned to Fox's house, there was a surprise birthday party waiting for him. Raccoon forgot it was his birthday, and each task he aided Fox with, actually was apart of getting the party together.

The illustrations were cute, and I liked the 3Dness to them. I bet the physical copy of this book is gorgeous as the illustrations followed along with the story. I loved the ending and how selfless little Raccoon was that he did not know he was helping set up for his own birthday surprise party, and that he forgot it was even his birthday. This is a great book for parents to share with their kids, and I believe their children can get a lot out of this story and the underlying lesson that is there.

This series was such a sweet quick read. Every word jumped off the page and made you feel part of the story. You could sense the deep love and friendship between Fox and Raccoon. Not only that, the other animals around the community are helpful and kind. If you ever wanted to read a family friendly book with a message of friendship and positivity to a child, this is it. Also a great read for children wanting a book not too long to read for themselves. There's a lot in a tiny package. The artwork is also beautiful.

This is a wonderful book for young children! Raccoon wants to help his friend Fox. Fox seems to have so much going on, and Raccoon knows that two more hands will make her work go faster. When the work is done, Fox will be able to play with Raccoon. Any book that focuses so strongly on helping others and friendship is must have when it's done this well. The illustrations are beautiful and younger toddler age siblings will even be able to follow along with the pictures. The surprise at the end is sure to delight children of every age. I know the big child in me loved it.

Cute story, fun illustrations. Non-readers can follow along easily with the descriptive illustrations.

Fantastic book about a Racoon who wants to help his friend so they can play. He ends up helping with the work for his own party! The pictures were fantastic! I believe the author used toys and models for them. They were bright and cheery and my two daughters (2 and 7) loved them! I would definitely recommend this book for the pictures, the story, and the lesson about being a friend and helping others.
