What a wonderful book! My boys really had such big smiles while I was reading the story of Fox and Raccoon. They saw how Raccoon was doing all he can to help his bestfriend, Fox. In a way it helped them understand that friends help each other in whatever way they can. What made it more interesting was the illustration of the book. The felt texture of the world of Juniper Hollow is adorable and fun. Its always good to see different types of illustrations in each children's books. I enjoyed reading this book with my kids and I hope this will help you decide to read this with your kids also.

Fox and Raccoon are best friends and play together and every day. One day, though, Fox is very busy and doesn’t have time to play. Raccoon jumps right in to help and finds a sweet surprise in the end.

This book was adorable! I love the graphics - they are different from the usual illustrations in most kids books. The textures are much more tangible than drawings. The story was also cute - showing how giving makes a person feel good without expecting anything in return, even if something is eventually returned. Goodness for the sake of goodness.

Fox and Raccoon is filled with gorgeously detailed images of felted creatures and the town they live in. The story is simple and sweet, but the book really stands out because of the creative images. It would be fun to see more of these characters in future installments. I would have liked to see more closeups and images rather than just one photograph spread across two pages, a few smaller pictures would add a lot to the storytelling.

I loved this story about best friends and kindness living in Juniper Hollow. An great lesson for kids about helping friends and kindness / doing for others. Raccoon helps his good friend Fox finish all of her tasks so they can have time together. The illustrations in this book are truly amazing. I love the detail in the little felted characters and their background have a multi-dimensional feel to them. Very detailed and colorful illustrations that add so much to this sweet children's story.

This is a lovely tale of friendship. When fox has a busy day and no time to play, Raccoon helps out. No asking required. While the ending will not come as a surprise for adult readers, they are sure to fall in love with the felted creature “illustrations” and the sweet story.

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Fox and Raccoon, best friends, are neighbors in Juniper Hollow and they play together every day. One day, Raccoon goes over to Fox's house, eager to see what the day holds for the two best friends. Unfortunately, Fox is busy-too busy to play with Raccoon. Hoping to speed up her chores, Raccoon offers to help Fox out. But what exactly is it that Fox is working on?

Fox and Raccoon is a sweet story about friendship. The felted animals used in the illustrations are adorable. While the story may be a bit too long for use in storytimes, it is a great book for caregivers to read with their child. The pictures are engaging and are a fun jumping off point for young imaginations. I am excited to see what the next book in the series brings.

Fox and Raccoon live in a quiet corner of Juniper Hollow. They play together every day, but on this day Fox is too busy to come out. So Raccoon decides to help out; he grabs letters off the table and dashes to the post office. When he comes back there is another chore he helps with, then another and another. On his last chore for his friend, he stops to pick wildflowers to share. But he loses track of time and when he returns it is getting late and Fox’s house is dark. So, what’s going on?

Cons:  Though I know this is a children’s book, it didn’t feel right that Raccoon didn’t ask if Fox wanted the letters mailed. I was a little disappointed that this offered nothing new or original to very similar stories.

Pros: The last page of text is a good thought to share with children.

Just a mini review today so that I don't spoil this very whimsical book.

Felted animals are so cute and this book has them on every page! This adorable book is about a Fox and a Racoon and they are best friends and Fox is working on a project and Racoon really really wants to help because he knows she is so busy. This beautiful book has an adorable surprise ending that made me swoon. I really loved this ending and this adorable book.

Fox and Raccoon live in a quiet little corner of Juniper Hollow. They have been best friends and neighbours forever and love spending each day together. They play games and often take a time out to just lay in the grass and relax. Ahhhhhh!

One day things change. Raccoon comes calling on his good friend and finds that Fox is a very very busy lady and certainly not ready to play the day away with him. He immediately steps up and helps her with all her chores and errands that she is juggling so they can spend time together like usual. Each time he comes back fulfilling her requests she has moved on to another project. Poor Raccoon wonders if they will ever play today at all? Why is Fox so busy? What is she up to that he doesn't know about?

Finally he discovers she is preparing a wonderful surprise exclusively for her best best... Raccoon himself!!! He is over-the-moon happy and grateful to have such a wonderful bestie who cares for him so much.

The illustrations are detailed and oh so beautiful. Lesley-Anne has created adorable felted animals and fanciful paper sets that invite the reader to come along and be part of life in Juniper Hollow. She has designed a world that kids will want to visit again and again.

This is the first book in a picture book series. "Fox and Raccoon" highlights the themes of friendship, sharing, working together, generosity and kindness. I highly recommend this book.

This was a delightful picture book. The artwork is beautiful, and colorful. Nice story about friendship. The drawback was that Raccoon never asked what to help with. He never let Fox finish her request. The ending was a nice surprise.

This is a cute story about best friends and neighbours living in the small town of Juniper Hollow. Raccoon wants to play, but Fox is too busy. Raccoon jumps right in to help Fox finish her chores, rushing off here and there to help. Little does Raccoon know what surprise is in store for him. The illustrations in this book is amazing! They are felted characters on a paper background that have a multi-dimensional feel to them. They are large and detailed. The colours complement one another quite well. Children will enjoy the illustrations as much as the story. A cute story about friendship and helping one another. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgally.

A delightful story, reminiscent of Frog and Toad, or George and Martha. I love this book, especially the illustrations. The story was wonderful, about two best friends and the kind things they do for each other. I would absolutely recommend this.

ARC copy...Very cute parable on friendship and...very nice illustrations. All of it handmade with felt and feels warm and coozy like the comfy village the characters inhabit.

The work that went into the illustrations of this children's book is amazing! These are not just standard illustrations, but instead needle felted characters and paper craft backgrounds that must have taken an extreme amount of time to create and then photograph. Eye grabbing even for adults.

And then there's the adorable story line, about how Raccoon desperately wants to play, but Fox is super busy, so he keeps helping, only to find out that the reason Fox was so busy was because she was preparing to surprise Raccoon with a birthday party, where he could play with ALL their friends.
