I spent my break looking at this book on my Kindle and was so disappointed the photos (I assume it will have photos) didn't come along with the text! Nevertheless, so many tasty recipes to try in the future! It was nicely organized by farm season (when foods get ripe!) so as to ensure local freshness. I loved finding a variation of Farmer's Breakfast in it; my Girl Scouts all enjoyed making and eating it when we went camping, so much so, it wasn't long before some of their families also started making it! Nice variation of Hobo Supper, too. Sooo many cookie recipes, among the many desserts! Lots of veggie side dishes to try out as well as breads and sauces! I am so going to have to find a hard copy!

From The Farmhouse Kitchen is a collection of fresh, straight from the farm, recipes and tips. It is categorized by season, so that it's easier for the reader to obtain the ingredients that are currently available to buy from their local farmers markets. This is really convenient for the reader, and ensures the freshest ingredients.

The book is co-written by a mother/daughter pair and they let you know who is providing the recipe (Carol or Dawn). The book also provides tips on cooking and the duo shares stories of their experiences working on a farm.

I plan to try some of these recipes and share them with my family. I'm always looking for the purest, freshest food to feed my family and this book provides that and more.

I had some trouble with the formatting (in Kindle), but it may have worked better with a different e-reader. I couldn't see any of the pictures, but there was space for them, and I'm sure they were beautiful. The recipes themselves are simple, but nutritionally balanced and hearty. There are Bible verses, stories and anecdotes, and (my favorite part) helpful household / kitchen hints!

Fresh, Simple, and Wholesome Recipes
From Our Family to Yours
From the farmhouse kitchens of mother and daughter Carol Falb and Dawn Stoltzfus comes a collection of over 150 delicious recipes plus charming stories of everyday life on an active, working dairy farm.

Let Carol and Dawn show you how easy it is to share farm-to-table goodness with your loved ones, even if you don't have your own garden...or working farm. Cooking should be more than just prepping food. When you prepare healthy meals using high-quality whole foods, you extend the love of Christ to others and bless them with your servant's heart.
From fresh salads to hearty entrees to tantalizing desserts, let these treasured recipes become part of your family's mealtime traditions and find joy in the simplicity of cooking fresh.

Okay, I LOATHE the term "farm to table" unless, like in this case, it is from the farm out the door into your kitchen table. (Doesn't all food come from a farm to your table? That is where I get persnickety!) There are so many great yet simple to prepare recipes in here that I am planning on buying this book (for both work and a copy of myself) using this book as a reference for our cooking classes where I work. Simple, yet yummy food gets people eating healthy foods all year 'round and this will quite likely become the bible of our Harvest Buck's Food Program....thanks for such a wonderful presentation and great ideas!!! I give this five stars ... six if I could!

From the Farmhouse Table is filled to the brim with simple farm to table recipes that all sound mouthwateringly delicious. I plan to try several, and one that immediately caught my eye was the Kale Apple Salad with Apple Cider Vinaigrette. My favorite aspect of the book was that the recipes are divided by seasons, which makes the best sense for fresh farm to table recipes. Helpful hints and cooking tips are included throughout, as well as spiritual references (the family is Mennonite). The book has plenty of narrative to read along with the recipes, and I enjoyed looking through this and marking recipes to try in the future.

Thanks to the authors, publisher, and Netgalley, for the complimentary copy.
