A sassy heroine with a case of amnesia and a growly hero that likes to get his way. A typical story doesn’t detract from the fun and sexiness. |
This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press. Can be read as a standalone A quick steamy paranormal read. This is the story of Vivienne and Fabian. I haven't yet read the the other books in this series but enjoyed this enough that I want too. |

Can the villain become a hero? Just what will it take to change one's very thoughts? For Fabian, the night he rescues the mysterious woman, his whole life changed. Previously published in the anthology Hunger, this story is the reason why Eve Langlais is so successful. Passionate. Intriguing. Sexy |
Alpha’s Mate is a delightful quick read that will make you smile. The characters are strong, captivating and easily draw you in with a heated romance and dangerous thrills that will leave you breathless. The story is fast paced and starts off with some edge of your seat suspense that quickly grabs your attention and refuses to let go. Readers are kept guessing in regards to the danger that our heroine finds herself in and since the danger she is in is complicated by something else (sorry no spoilers), it really keeps the anticipation and suspense building. That something else also makes it a bit difficult for Fabian to woo his prickly mate and the ending is quite a dramatic surprise. Eve Langlais always writes vivid stories that easily draw readers in and this is one no exception as I was completely captivated by the characters so of course I can’t wait until her next book. |

This short story hadn't been for me. I know this author and that her females are usually feisty, but here she was so irritating that I couldn't make myself like her. She destroyed that story for me. Unfortunately Fabian also wasn't that well-written - just sex and mating was on his mind... |
Check out this review on www.wickedcoolflight.net I got my hands on another Eve Langlais early release...Well, not quite. This one actually released in an anthology a little while ago and is now being released on it's own. It deserves it's own release party though. Although too short in my opinion it delivered on all the things I love from Eve; sex, romance, suspense, and a dash of comedy. Fabian is a little older than many of Eve's other heroes, but being an Alpha sometimes takes time to build the reputation that Fabian certainly deserves as the Alpha Wolf. When he happens upon a woman with no memory, he is truly in a quagmire of deep self reflection as his wolf decides she's the one. Fabian doesn't go down without a fight against his wolf nature, but he does go down faster than "Vixen." I don't want to give any spoilers, so we'll just use Fabian's nickname for our heroine. Vixen on the other hand fights mother nature like she's caught in a leg trap. Oh, and she loves Fido references that get the hackles up on Fabian. Her personality is super evident in how she handles Fabian. She is a take charge, no nonsense kind of heroine and when you discover her full story at the end, it is right on track with how you see her. Since it's a short story, losing her memory allows her to drop her inhibitions and just let nature takes its course in their relationship building. The ending delves into the next story in the series, which I might add sounds good, funny, and steamy as well. So pick this one up and delve into the Their Furever Mates series for a little romantic crush. I'm giving this a 4 of 5 propellers because I'd have liked it to be a little longer and the ending was a little rushed, although not lacking in details. I'm hoping we get more of the back story on "Vixen's" family in the next novel. I'll definitely be looking for it, but it looks like there may be a significant wait as she doesn't have the next installment listed on her site. Eve, I like this series as much as the A Lion's Pride series and can't wait to see more. Thanks for letting me have an early read. |
Can be read as a standalone A quick steamy paranormal read. Vivienne doesn't remember who she is or why dangerous men are trying to kill her. All she knows is that she can trust Fabian Garoux, the sexy alpha who saved her. This is a fun read with a little bit of humor mixed into it. An enjoyable fast read that didn't disappoint. |
This story was awesome I love the feisty heroines! This one bumped her nugget though when she was kidnapped o has no idea why she's being targeted. And she's also thrown in the river on werewolf alpha Fabian's territory. What makes matters worse is Vixen as he calls her is his mate, but she's got way more on her plate like hoping not to be killed and figuring out who she is before she really cares about mates. I loved this cute novella shifter book! |
I was able to read Alpha's Mate and I have to say I truly enjoyed it. Alpha's Mate has a well developed storyline and strong characters. I especially enjoyed having an equally dominant female character who didn't have the shifter gene to back up her strength/smart mouth. Sexual chemistry dominated this book from the start. the characters worked well together and for a shorter book, I personally didn't think it felt rush. The story played out nicely and I liked having a bit of mystery with the who done it added in. I will say it started off a bit differently than most of the books I have read yet it captured my interest immediately. Having a 'villain' as the good guy was a nice twist, although I wouldn't consider him a villain but I'll leave that for you to decide. The plot centers around "Vixen" and Fabian. I don't want to give any spoiler so I'll leave her name as Vixen. You'll have to read to unravel the mystery of Vixen. We don't know much about her in the beginning except she is intelligent, smart mouthed and being kidnapped/downed for money. Talk about starting off with a bang! She is thrown into the water with her hand/feet bound, her future isn't looking to bright until she is rescued by our hero/villain who witnesses the entire ordeal. Fabian isn't what you'd call a hero but something about her called to him and he was unable to ignore his inner beast. Fabian is the local Alpha and rules his pack with an iron fist, not saying he is unfair or cruel just wants order and respect for those under him. He isn't use to people talking back or females not throwing themselves after him to gain the rank of Mate. Fabian and Vixen will have to work together to help her regain her lost memories and find out who is she and more importantly why someone would want her dead. Will they be able to survive each other? Fabian's need for order/structure and Vixen's stubborn personality will test the limits for both of them. |

Fabian is the Alpha of wolf shifters. He finds a woman drowning and rescues her, as her captors shoot at them. She has amnesia and is unable to tell who she is and why they want her dead. He continues to attempt to keep her safe and is drawn to her as he has never been to another. She has grit and determination which makes her perfect for him. Unfortunately, she continues to be in danger. This book has comedic spots and is full of passion. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. |

Interesting story. Not sure if it's only me, but i do feel like its a comedy romance.. |
The Alpha's Mate is a fun romp in an ugly world. Someone is trying to kill a woman in Fabian’s territory. This cannot be tolerated if anyone does any killing it is going to be Fabian. When he finally rescues the woman she has amnesia and he has found his mate. Neither is a happy camper. It takes a strong woman to deal with Fabian and even with amnesia his future mate keeps Fabian on his toes. I love these two together. They would crush anyone else. I will say that Fred the manservant really made the book for me. NOTE: The Alpha's Mate was previously released in The Hunger Anthology |
The Alpha’s Mate is fast, fun and full of sizzle. Vivienne is kidnapped by two bumbling idiots and they just might be the death of her until Fabian, the alpha wolf shifter, rescues her from drowning and takes her back to his pack. Jumping from the frying pan into fire, Vivienne ignites Fabian’s hunting instincts when she runs from him. To top it off Vivienne can’t remember anything. Both Vivienne and Fabian quickly realize that Vivienne is much safer under his watch because there is someone out there that really wants Vivienne dead. Lots of sexual chemistry but not a lot of developed romance. A shorter read, so it is perfect for those who enjoy easy, entertaining novellas with a heated shifter romance. I received this ARC copy of Alpha's Mate from St. Martin's Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. Alpha's Mate is set for publication Jan. 30,2018. Fabian is never going to settle down or allow a woman to collar him. As the alpha wolf of his pack he’s got a reputation to uphold and it’s a lot of work being the bad guy. When he rescues Vixen from the river after she was tied up and tossed in to drown, he realizes pretty quickly that she’s his mate. This is a fast, fun, humor filled read that has a little meat on its bones. Not my favorite by this author but still highly enjoyable. This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press. |
I used to really like Eve Langlais’ books, but I have not cared much for the last few I have read. This one is no exception. It started in the middle of a kidnapping which makes it a bit confusing and hard to get into from the start. |
I voluntarily read this advanced readers copy of this book. Strong characters and a great story line. You won't be able to put this book down once you start reading it. I can't wait to read more work from Eve either. |
This was my first read from Eve Langlais and I was not at all disappointed. It was suspenseful with just the right amount of satisfaction at the end. I love paranormal romances and this one was of the best I have read. I now need to dive into the other books she has written. |
The description didn't do it justice! Her books make me laugh out loud and want my man! |
