This is the third and final book (and yes the previous two really have to be read first) and after the horrific end to the preview book (Fractured Refuge) I was excited about starting this and it did not disappoint.

This series takes place about three years after the plague that decimated the United States a plague for which there is no cure, the scientists are long dead only natural immunity got anyone through.
This is about the world that’s been left. A story of survival and it shows the best and worst of mankind.
Women seemed to have been hit particularly hard and as a result they are incredibly scarce.

‘There’s nothing left for us, any of us. Without women, without a future, we’re just working corpses, bound for hell.’

This isn’t always an easy read and the author doesn’t always take the nice safe route. The route where my favourite characters would stay happy and healthy while tragedy swirls around them.

I don’t want to say too much about this book since I don’t want to give anything away. I knew exactly how it was going to go but surprisingly it didn’t go according to plan and I was left with a atmospheric, descriptive and exciting read.

## Any quotes I’ve used are from the ARC and may change in the final version.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and Escape Publishing.
