Russian billionaire Alexander Kanzankov has plans for the recent widow and her company. Revenge for what Lily Bennetts former husband did to his mother and their family all those years ago.

What will happen when he discovers that all the years spent making plans were fueled by hate and anger. The one thing Alexander never imagined was his feelings for Lily.

Can they survive the backlash of family and board members who have their own agenda for how the company should be run and who should be in charge.

It's only a matter of time before secrets surface and debts are paid. If you like your romance spicy with billionaires and enemies to lovers trope, this is a great read.

wowww just wow. This book blew my expectations out of the water. A romantic suspense with two strong main characters is right up my alley. The twists and turns in this story I definitely did not see coming or I had just assumed wrong in my predictions. This had a bit of Christina Lauren's Beautiful Disaster vibes to it and I absolutely loved it!! The tension that builds up between the two MC was perfection. I really enjoyed how well the characters were written and developed...a lot more layers to them then what you'd expect. All in all I will definitely be reading more books by this author!

#Besting The Billionaire #NetGalley. This is a steamy story of Alexi and Lily, a gorgeous widow who inherits her late husband business. Alexander Kazankov is a successful business man and his latest deal is the Winslow Industries. He wants both the business and the widow and he won’t take no for an answer. There is plenty of hot sexy suspense and heat between them. It’s a quick read, great from the beginning to the end. I would this book. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Everything about this book worked for me.
Hot Russian - check
Feisty Widow - check
Fight over CEO of a company that means something to both of them - check
Unbridled Passion - check

Alexander Kazankov never loses and his latest deal is one he's been working on for years. A deal he will stop at nothing to finish. The acquisition of Winslow Industries from the Winslow family has been on Alexi's radar for years. After the death of patriarch Russel Winslow, Alexi in now preparing to go head-to-head with Russell Winslow's widow, Lily Bennett.

Lily is a lot smarter than anyone has ever given her credit for. She might have a cringe-worthy past but it should not define who is now. Unfortunately, there are those in the world who love to reveal the mistakes, tragedies, or other private matters that are no one's business. I'm not talking about illegal actions, I'm talking about poor decisions, choices that seemed okay at the time but maybe weren't really, or associations with less-that-desirable companions. Lily is bound and determined to run Winslow according to her deceased-husband's wishes. Except, Lily has way more against her than for her, including the children of Russell, wary board members, and hot Russian businessmen. The only way to come out on top is to prove she's exactly who Winslow Industries needs.

I really enjoyed this book. The glass ceiling is real and this book takes it on. Lily encounters several board members who subscribe to the good ole boys club. Their attitude and connections make it harder for Lily to obtain the number of votes necessary for a CEO. She's consistently trying to outmaneuver Alexi, while simultaneously pushing aside her attraction for him. Of everyone she deals with concerning the board, Alexi is the only one who doesn't hold her being a woman against her. He realizes just how strong and capable she is and how shrewd and cunning she will be as a CEO.

Besting the Billionaire is engaging with strong character development, and impressive world-building. The author's writing style is clear, concise, and conversational with perfect pacing, and likable characters. I highly recommend this book.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.

Alexander /Alexi was Russian born. He was at a funeral for business purposes and business always came first even when an actress hit on Alexi he told her no he was there for business reasons. Alexi was ruthless when it came to business. The late Russell Winslow had run an investment firm that specializes in high end results but the firm was on the verge of bankruptcy. Today was Winslow’s memorial service one year after his death. Winslow was seventy six when he passed. There were senators, actresses, models. and mongrels there. Yet Winslow was not well liked. Alexi went up against Paul- the oldest Winslow son who had been harassing Winslow’s widow saying she would never be allowed to run the business. Winslow had surprised his two ex wives, his kids, and the board when he left his entire estate, his once thriving business and all his other holdings to his widow- wife # 3- Lily Bennett. She had to fight in court against her step children but she had finally won. Alexi had went against Paul on deals and always won except the last one- the most important and then Winslow’s death put a stop to things on that deal. The sight of Lily had hit Alexi with the force of a fist. This death gave Alexi an opening he hadn’t expected and he intended to capitalize on. Before anyone else got the chance to. That would be a promise fulfilled to Lena who had raised him as her own when he was a child. He had to do this as final closure to Lena’s loss. Lily’s marriage to Russell Winslow had been more of a rescue for her then love Russell had been a lot older than Lily but had been good to her. Lily as Alexi had a tough childhood. Lily had risen above her past and had a future she had created for herself. Lily was intelligent. determined and stubborn and wanted to turn the firm back around. Alexi and Lily have a very hot chemistry. Alexi came to the point where he had to choose between to keep a promise to a woman who lovingly raised him or to the woman he cared for now. Either way Alexi was going to be seriously torn.
I liked this book a lot. I really liked how Lily stood up for herself. I loved how Alexi grew in this book to be a caring man. I liked the plot and pace. This was a little bit different kind of romance. I did love the twists in this book. This had : hot scenes, comedy, romance, mystery, a failing company, a promise, determination, a rescue of sorts, harassment, intrigue, and so much more. I liked the ending a lot. I liked the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I recommend.

Alexander (Alexi), a billionaire, and Lily, a widow, both have hopes for a certain company, one that Lily's husband left to her upon his death. While their marriage wasn't an actual love match, but he saved her, and for that she's grateful. She wants to do right by him and his business.

As for Alexi, his goal is revenge based, wanting to make those suffer who harmed Lena, the woman that treated him as her own.

As Lily struggles to maintain the company against the efforts of her stepsons, and others, who want it, now she must also fight Alexi, a man known for his cold ruthlessness in business.

But Alexi and Lily didn't count on the mutual attraction that almost ignites when they're near, nor the strength of the connection between them.

Will Alexi continue with his quest for vengeance, even though it'll impact Lily? Will Lily accomplish her goal, and stave off the attempts of others to usurp it? What about Alexi and Lily personally? Can they explore what's between them while at odds professionally? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people, both with tragic pasts and varying ideas for the future, realize there's something else worth fighting for.

Alexander 'Alexi' Kazankov wants Winslow Industries, but Lily Bennett isn't about to let him have it without a fight. Yet, she never imagined Alexander would get under her skin the way he does. But the more these two push each other to come out on top, the more they risk both personally and professionally. Will things end in disaster, or will they fight for their shot at happy ever after?

Reading any book by Ms. Aimes is always an absolute pleasure, and this book was a highly entertaining, fast-paced enemy to lovers trope encompassing story that had me hooked from start to finish. Really, there was so much to love about this story such as the incredible main characters that go toe-to-toe to see who will come out on top; enthralling dialogue that was a wonderful combination of intense moments, fan-your-face romance and delightful banter that I couldn't get enough of; and which had a spellbinding storyline due to the main characters back stories, the obstacles they face on their journey to happy ever after and because of the touch of suspense that had me sympathizing with everything the heroine goes through since someone is out to make sure she doesn't win the battle between her and Alexander.

As for the main characters, I loved the challenge the heroine provided the hero because he's the type to always get what he wants and she doesn't make it easy for him. Certainly, she's smart, feisty and isn't about to let him win. Not when she has the best ideas to turn the company around and prove that the late Mr. Winslow was right to put his faith in her. Will Lily be able to win everyone over? Furthermore, I also liked how resilient and courageous the heroine is. She's fought hard to get to where she is in her life and I could understand why she continues to fight because of what she went through in her past. No way will she be weak again. While the hero, he's confident and determined to succeed, but he's never had a more formidable opponent than Lily. I also liked how protective he became of the heroine once he realized someone was out to scare her off. Who is behind the attacks -- both personal and physical -- on Lily? However, what I liked most of all about the hero was that he was loyal to those he cared about and that he was determined to do anything to prove to the heroine that she count on him. Will he be able to fulfil his wish to the woman he's always thought of as a second mom?

Overall, Ms. Aimes has penned a wonderful and captivating read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was powerful because of the fact that their enemies and determined to win, which ups the sexual tension until it explodes onto the pages in very passionate sex scenes; and the ending had me loving the lengths the hero would go to in order to show Lily that he'll always be there for her. Certainly, there's no way they should throw away their shot at happy ever after just so she could protect him. I would recommend Besting the Billionaire by Alison Aimes, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Kira Archer, Cate Cameron, Victoria Davies and Diane Alberts.

This is my first time in reading this author so I thing that is how I got sucked into reading another one in the Billionaire genre which I have only read a couple. Not one that really draws my attention the one on this did. You have two characters that will pull your strings as you get immersed in this one. Alexander is one prideful guy whom pokes at your side of lets see him go down. The woman that does this is Lily with this being a site not to be missed. Somewhere along the way you see they are both gonna be in trouble which is part of the fun of this read. This author provides romance and fun which leads to one satisfying read leaving you sated when the end is reached.

It makes me proud when an author sees fit to give her alpha male, a taste of his own back. For that reason I loved Besting the Billionaire. Lily is a worthy adversary for Mr. King of the Mountain. When these two cross paths what follows is an intense battle of the minds, hormones and sexes. Backing down is not an option and missing out on this magnetic read would be a mistake.

This is a very different take on billionaire romances! In this instance, Lily Bennett’s elderly husband died and chose to make her the CEO of his family business - much to the annoyance of one of her two step sons. Her husband had been ill for some time and there are secrets about their relationship that his sons are unaware of.

Lily is determined to rejuvenate the business and make it a success again but she’s not just up against her stepson, Russian billionaire Alexander Kazankov is also determined to take control of the business - but his reasons are to right a wrong he believer Lily’s husband made decades ago. Lily isn’t the pushover or fluffy airhead that everyone assumes. She’s a feisty, determined young lady who is out to prove to herself that she’s so much more but will the members of the board give her the chance to do so?

The attraction between Alexi and Lily is hot, their encounters range from steamy to laugh out loud hilarious but the angst and turmoil keep this story a real page turner and great read. It is only as details of their earlier life unfold that the reasons for their determination are revealed. However, there is another person secretly working to thwart them . . . . This is a story of opposites, a battle of wills - resistance v attraction, love v hostility.

I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

alexander kazankov has been determined to bring down winslow industries for years. now that winslow himself is dead, and his widow has been appointed the interim ceo he sees his chance. but lily isn't the bubble-headed trophy wife he assumes her to be. and for all the damage her former husband inflicted on people, on his own family, he's still her savior.

besting the billionaire becomes a battle of wills between lily and alexi, it's a battle for dominance and a battle against the attraction that sparks up between them every time they are in a room together. soon alexi finds himself at a crossroads. destroying winslow industries means destroying the future lily has clawed her way out of hell for. but not destroying it breaks a promise he made to his dead fiancée and her mother, his surrogate mother.

each of these women he holds in his heart, and betraying one of them is going to tear him apart. but when he makes his choice, it's for love. and love can only reap wonderful things. and what could have been some standard category fare is elevated by the emotional depth and real complexity of the choices these characters need to make to secure their happy ending.

**besting the billionaire will publish on january 15, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (indulgence) in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I have read by Alison Aimes and I was pleasantly surprised by Besting the Billionaire. I won't tell you the storyline because you can read that for yourself. Nor will I add any spoilers.
The H and h are very strong characters, no wimps here! The book is well-written although there were some typographical errors in the editing. I would classify this as adult reading material for its sex scenes and language. There are family expectations and plenty of drama. This author definitely had a beginning, middle and end. No facts left out, not overly descriptive and all things resolved, with 1 exception. I felt that the author should have expanded on Alexi's confrontation with Lena, since their relationship was pivotal to the story. All in all, an excellent read.

This book wasn't bad, it was ok entertaining enough just totally not believable. An enemies to lovers story. So we meet Lily a recent widow who is fighting to be the head of an oil company, where the good ole boys rule along with her stepson. Yes their attitude was piggish (yes that is the word I am going to use) but I am pretty sure they had more qualifications than her. Then we meet Alexi a russian prince, who's father had lost their money, yeah, no that is not how it works. Alexi and Lily are competitors and I did enjoy their back and forth. So we have a little suspense, a little humor and some hotness..
