A new story in one of my favorite series where the family matchmaking matriarch, Mama Laverne, has chosen the next Madaris to get married.  Ladies man Nolan Madaris does not care what his great grandmother says she will not tell him who he will marry.  Mama Laverne and her best friend Helen have decided her granddaughter, Ivy Chapman and Nolan are perfect for each other.

Ivy and Nolan plan to outsmart the matchmakers by coming up with their own plan.  But they will soon learn they are no match when it comes to Mama Laverne.  This new story will re-introduce so many characters from previous stories.  A really great read.

Mama Laverne is at it again…

Nolan Madaris is a fun-loving playboy, who believed that he could never see himself settling down for marriage hood anytime soon. So, he thinks. Now that Mama Laverne has set her eyes on him being the next in her matchmaking schemes, but he has no intentions of being trapped.

Ivy Chapman is a gal with a brilliant mind; a complete computer whiz. Ivy just doesn’t have any luck with the whole love thing. Ivy never meet this man named Nolan Madaris, but he is soon to meet her. Who in their right mind sends a woman flowers that they have never met?

I adore these two characters. Nolan and Ivy are not lacking in the heat department that is evident from their first meeting. I enjoyed getting to know them on their own as well as together. There were fun moments and touching moments between Nolan and Ivy. I sighed after how Nolan let Ivy know she was more than what she thought of herself, and what others thought of her. So sweet.

Supporting characters are from the other books in the series, but I enjoy seeing them all. I really enjoy who they all gang up on the one who is targeted by Mama Laverne. In this book it is said who will be next for the Mama Laverne’s love special, but my lips are sealed.

Best Laid Plans is a feel-good read with characters that are well written and very enjoyable. The match making, meddling of Mama Laverne is still going strong, this lady is such a hoot. The backdrop is always amazing.
As always Brenda Jackson leaves me with a wonderful felling.

This story is not for me because I hate meddling and 
My teeth were grinding from the first page to the last.

Nolan and Ivy are two people who have loved and lost and figured they're better off without it; that is until two meddling relatives have other ideas. Will these two headstrong individuals be able to stick to their plan or will love have its way?

This is such a fun book! The characters are well written and true. The match making, meddling grandmothers are delightful. There are so many best laid plans that go awry to make you laugh. Got to say, the love scenes are just about too hot to handle.

Nolan likes to be accommodating, “depends on where I am. Whenever I’m here, yes. And if you like, I have no problem with you walking around here shirtless as well.” Nolan doesn't appreciate waking up alone, “I woke up and you were gone, baby.” She swirled around to see a shirtless Nolan leaning in the kitchen’s doorway with his jogging pants riding low on his hips..." I liked this book, I liked Ivy and Nolan together.

Good feel good read, 
Loved the setting, character development is top notch.
