I received a copy of Shadow Hunt by Melissa F. Olson from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book by Melissa F. Olson that I had read, but I was quickly hooked by the world she created. Fortunately, even though this was the third book in this series, it was not difficult to get up to speed on the characters or creatures of her world.

What first caught my attention was that the summary was intriguing and promised a fun read. Then the novel itself was fast paced with a fresh/different plot than the norm. The protagonist, Scarlett Bernard, was incredibly well-written and even though her character flaws were apparent, it made her all the more likeable and believable.

I would definitely recommend Shadow Hunt by Melissa F. Olson to any reader, and for myself, I look forward to reading her other novels.

In the epic conclusion to the series story arc, Scarlet gets some monumental news. Old enemies reappear with the will and the way to wage a horrific magical war. Everyone Scarlet loves is in danger, as assassins try to take her out. Something big is coming, and these enemies believe Scarlet is the only one who can stop them. Action packed ending, side story's tied up, epilogue hints a future story arc. Authors ending notes confirm future cameo's, and new trilogy on the horizon. Very good series.
