Raises more questions than answers but still a great read. |
Grant has created a paranormal world filled with dragons, reapers, fae and other beings including DEATH. Many installments in this series and I find it confusing with all the characters involved. This tale centers around three half fae sisters who hold the secret to the defeat of Bran who seems unstoppable and who has been sucking the power from Death herself. Reaper Daire seeks the three sisters to obtain their aid only to realize they only know themselves as human. A low action in Dark Alpha Night and the multitude of threads just made this a two star rating for me. Would be great world to follow for those who devour series novels. I love Donna Grant's Dragon Kings books so this was a nice diversion with familiar characters. The lives of the Reapers are fascinating and it is interesting to see Death in her element. All around a fun way to explore the lives of Fae, Reapers, half-lings and humans. My only criticism is that there is a lot of narrative at the beginning of the book but then again you often get that with the first book in a new series. I plowed through and enjoyed the story of Daire and Ettie. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley and enjoyed it enough that I will come back for more with subsequent books in the series. |

Dark alphas night is another book in the dragon king series, I've only read one previous book so did become a little confused at times, that said Dairewas a great hero, loyal to a fault and determined to prevent the dark fate from killing the halflings. He meets Ettie and her sisters and he and Ettie start a steamy romance hindered a little by Daire's inability to express his deep feelings for Ettie. A good enjoyable fantasy romp that will keep you entertained. My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book. |
Another installment in the Reaper/Dragon Kings series, this one add a little more info to the puzzle of how they can win the war they are fighting. The romance was a little to fast and predictable but you still will want to read it since there are more clues to the overall arc. |
Another installment in this fantastic series that was too short and revealed nothing about the wider story universe and whet my appetite for more. I can't wait to see how this strand of the series pans out. |
I admit that I haven't read any other books in this series but the blurb sounded right up my alley! Before I started I did worry that I would be lost. Although I did feel I needed the lead up to Bran defecting there were no other worries as I started to get into it! Daire was oh so perfect. Devout to his job as a Reaper, so very loyal to his cause and then he meets Ettie. His non-ability to try and put into words how he felt about Ettie made my heart bloom! This book was steamy, captivating and so enjoyable. So enjoyable I want to read the other books in the series now! |

I love it! This is a continuation of The Reapers and this is Daire’s book. He has been following Rhi for awhile now. Death gives him an option to continue with his watching or join his fellow reapers to figure out how to stop Bran. He chooses to join his brothers and he meets Ettie. Insta love and they make a great couple. I’m glad Daire found someone after watching Rhi for so long. The storyline does move forward but none if the storylines are resolved. Can’t wait for the next one. Great writing and I’m so hooked on what happens next. Love this series. |
