People think Zee is a lesbian. They also think Art is gay. But no one really knows either of them, and one day they meet in a diner and discover they are destined for each other.

I really, truly wanted to like this one. The premise is great. I love challenging stereotypes, like the idea that because Art dresses nicely, is a vegetarian, and doesn't like sports, then he must be gay. But the writing style is just so difficult to follow in this book. Each chapter is very short, and they switch between chapters narrated by Zee and ones narrated by Art, but there are numerous other characters introduced very quickly and it's just so hard to follow what is happening. I felt like I was back in my classroom listening to one of my 7th graders tell me what happened during recess, but his buddies were with him and kept interjecting other ideas until the whole story was garbled. This story is garbled.
