I would like to thank netgalley and Bell Bridge Books for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Not a fan of the writing style.

Well written story with nice storyline and plot. I felt that I missed something because I did not know that I should have read a previous book before this one. Apart from that it is a nice read and I liked to follow this pair on their journey into their marriage.
A story about Nick and Chary, which have been forced into an engagement. They have to learn to know each other and they are in for surprises. She is an intelligent woman and that was not what Nick expected. A cute story.
Enjoyable read.

This was a fun and cozy Regency read with romance and a dash of intrigue. I appreciated the historical information regarding Java and love the way this author introduced a character in a companion book. The prologue was very interesting, but I did feel that the action rushed a bit so we could get to the main story. I'd have liked to see a bit more time spent on the friendship between Nick and Will. An extremely enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the companion book. #MistletoeMagic #NetGalley

This is a very clean romance novel. The H and h , Nick and Charlotte, first meet when he is sent by his father to propose. It is an arranged marriage. Nick is the 2nd son of a Duke and Charlotte the daughter of a wealthy banker. Neither is happy about the arranged marriage.
What I liked most about this book is despite their misgivings, and then their attraction, they took the time to get to know each other. You saw their relationship develop. They didnt just act on their attraction, thinking that would be enough. They talked about their interests and their dreams. I would highly recommend this book.

really liked it

An exceptionally good read. A clean romance ... a wonderful change to those that are all sex and no story. I liked the way the story was plotted. I enjoyed the romance as well as the characters she has created for this witty story. As you read and see the way the hero as well as the heroine are you think it is so so ... all of a sudden you find yourself completely immersed in the story and then look around at the end not realizing you have lost all time. It was such a case with this book. A clean romance that captures and intrigues as well as leaving the reader satisfied but wanting more immediately! A creatively gifted author that makes her readers happy. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Regards, Anna

Virginia Brown has written a delightful and interesting Regency romance. Charlotte is expected to marry someone she doesn’t want to and makes a break for it. Nicholas does not want to marry the woman his father has picked out for him. Little do they know that they are to meet up courtesy of a blizzard. Then the sparks fly, and they will believe in the power of Christmas. Totally enjoyed it from page 1.

I very much enjoyed the story of Nick and Chary. I found the characters to be believable and relate-able. I love a historical romance, especially when there is a little mystery involved. The conflict in this novel creates even more intrigue and excitement, and I often had trouble putting the book down. It made me long for a huge Christmas gathering in a large English manor!

Lord Nicholas Hawkely is the second son of a duke, newly resigned Captain of HMS Renown, finds his recent betrothal to the spinster daughter of a wealthy banker most inconvenient. After ten years of fighting Napoleon, he has dreams of travelling the world on new adventures, not marrying a woman chosen by his father. Charlotte St. John prefers quiet pleasures such as riding through the park and birdwatching rather than dances, soirées, or an arranged marriage. The pair are invited to Lady Laurentia Howard’s house party in Sussex, trapped by a blizzard, celebrating the yuletide season. And they quickly learn not to underestimate the power of mistletoe and Christmas miracles.
A well written lovely read of a couple thrown into an arranged marriage but as they get to know each other they find that they have much in common & they find themselves falling in love. The characters are very well portrayed & the pace of the story is very good. I also enjoyed the actual historical facts interlaced into the story. I immediately went onto read the second book in the duology

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

The plot lines was good, the characters enjoyable. I liked both this story but i felt there was a lot of unnecessary filler in it. Seemed a bit drawn out and i couldnt help but get bored at times. There are a few editing issues but all in all it was a decent read

This is a Clean Historical Romance, with a disgraced Lord Hawkely ,second son of a Duke. Nicholas has spent ten years fighting Napoleon, on the Seas, only to return home, accused of a tremendous theft. Giving his younger brother credit, did very little to help his reputation, for his spoiled little brother has run up gambling debts, all over London. His father, assuming the worst , has arranged a Wedding for monetary reasons, to a wealthy banker's daughter, someone, he has never met.
Charlotte cannot believe her father intends to marry her off to a man in such disgrace, just because he is of the peerage! She would rather watch birds, walk, or read than to marry, no matter how handsome the young Lord may be.
This is a new Author for me,I was pleasantly surprised, I think a little more than kissing would have been nice, still a very good read!
I highly recommend! Thanks! Enjoy!
