Took a long time to review this book because i actually wanted to try the majority of the recipes and have been. It has some tasty easy meals to make that my friends and family haven't even commented on it being dairy free which is such a win. Would purchase in paperback form to.

Thank you to netgalley for a copy of this book.

This is a great follow-up to the author's original Go Dairy Free cookbook from way back, modernized with color photos for every recipe and lots of new recipes reflecting our modern options. The beginning goes into a tutorial on why people go dairy free and how to do it. There are ten recipe chapters of everything from drinks to snacks to different cuisines, plus how to make a lot of basics. Lots of these are refreshingly simple, like how to make a 1-minute non-dairy milk with whatever nut or grain you choose (cashews, oats, etc.) with optional flavorings. Many of the recipes are naturally dairy free so it's debatable if you need them in a dairy-free cookbook. Some would argue that it shows you all your options, while others argue that there's no need to have so many recipes that you could just as easily find in a regular cookbook like fruit salad or BBQ meat.

There are lots of options for people on special diets, and a chart at the start of each chapter shows which recipes are egg free, vegan, gluten free, etc. Almost all of the recipes are soy free. Nutritional yeast is used often for cheesy flavors. You don't have to buy a lot of processed imitation foods like vegan margarine and cheese, which I appreciate. Nutritional information is not provided.

The strengths of this book are the color photos for every recipe, the variety of recipes, the information for those who are new to dairy free living and its accommodation for so many diets.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

A huge help in a household that had to go dairy free for one kid! Even gave the name of the book to a friend who is allergic as well, and she liked some of the recipes from it. Will be referring to it often.

Eat dairy free is a useful book for those who want to make dairy free recipes. As many are allergic to dairy products and avoid using dairy in their meals.......

This book was very helpful in helping start my dairy free journey. Months ago my immunist/allergist told us to go dairy free. Although I could give up regularl milk,I had trouble giving up cheese, butter and eggs. I recently found nut alternative that has helped.

These recipes are no less appealing just because they are dairy-free. I think that I could try going dairy-free (at least for a while) using this cookbook. It will also be of assistance when cooking for friends and relatives who do not eat dairy!

I have stomach issues and was excited to try out this ARC before making major changes to my diet. The health benefits and substitutes were clear without being too technical or beyond an average households needs. The recipes and weekly plans were great guides and even though I am going to continue eating dairy, it's nice to have options for when I want to cut it out of my diet.

Ice cream is my absolute favorite food in the world. And thankfully, it doesn't hurt my body (aside from if I eat it to overindulgence) so dairy free is not a lifestyle that I have to follow. I do have a lot of friends and loved ones that feel the adverse effects of dairy filled diets. I wanted to read through this book to get ideas of what I could make for them in mind. Food really does create a place for people to come together and having an allergy shouldn't hold back the relationships.

I haven't gotten to try the delicious looking recipes yet, but there are a number that I hope to invite some friends to try... especially in the breakfast and dessert chapters. And the soups. And the... well, throughout the whole thing really.

I appreciate how Fleming includes notes on how to make something gluten free and even explains how different variations could affect the production of the food. Those notes are super helpful--it will save a lot of google searching.

Southwestern Sunrise Tacos and Mylk Chocolate Cupcakes are by far my favs. I enjoyed that there were other options such as gluten-free for recipes.

I love this book! From the quality, I can definitely tell how much thought and time took to get this book just right. I love the weekly meal plans and that it tells you when you should pre-cook certain meals! I feel like this is such an easy guidebook for those who want to eat dairy-free, or currently on a dairy-free diet and are having trouble finding easy, go-to recipes! The section for recipes great for entertaining was amazing! I can't wait to grab myself a hard copy. :-) Thanks for letting me read this1

Completely devoid of milk-based ingredients, these recipes also have gluten-free and egg-free options, and in many cases, soy- and nut-free choices, too.

Eat Dairy Free is a great resource for anyone looking to cook without dairy or as a guide for healthy, wholesome eating. I'm currently doing Whole 30 and there are several recipes I will be able to make and several more I look forward to eating once I am technically done with the program but still want to eat well. I highly recommend this book!

This is the perfect companion to Alisa Fleming’s book, Go Dairy Free. There are so many recipes and many of them include gluten free and allergy free options that are so helpful. I wish I had this book years ago to help with my son’s milk allergy. Once you learn all the information about eliminating dairy from your diet, this book is a helpful companion to get started with snacks, meals and even desserts. If you are considering eliminating any form of dairy from your diet, I recommend both of Alisa Fleming’s books.

Trying to cut dairy from your diet can be taxing, no matter whether you want/need to do it because of health reasons, want to go vegan or just want to cut back a little. This book offers a large variety of every day recipes, from snacks to main dishes that are dairy free, no experiments necessary, no special food requirements. Simple menu plans with a preparation schedule for the whole week make it easy to stick to a non-diary diet.

There are some very interesting recipes in this book, especially the baked goods that would normally require milk, cream, and/or butter. Still, there are also a lot of recipes that I would never have made with dairy and hence wonder why they are in this book, like the Sweet and Sour Stir Fry.

That said, I like the menu plans and the baked goods recipes, I am not really on board with most of the other recipes - apart from the fact that they are necessary for the menu plans.

Eat Dairy Free includes many dairy free and other allergen-free recipes. The recipes range from snacks to meals and included are meal plans to take out some of the guesswork. This book makes it easy to ease into reducing dairy intake, although it is not full of strange and uncommon substitutions. There is information about different types of non-dairy types of milk and what they taste like and what they may be used for. This is also true for the various flours presented in the book. There are photos for each recipe.

Note: I was allowed an advance copy of this book to review. In no way did that affect my opinions.

Great resource, especially for those new to dairy-free and/or vegetarian or vegan diets. The recipes are simple, accessible, and typically require what's already on your shelf while incorporating a variety of ingredients. A must for any library.

This book is AWESOME!

I am so excited to try out the recipes! There are so many options for dairy free milk, sour cream, cream cheese, cheese, etc. I have IBS and suffer from terrible abdominal pains when I eat cheese , but I try to stay away from all dairy when I can since all dairy seems to affect it to some degree. I am so happy that I have this book to spice up my food again and to have the ability to eat a greater variety of foods. These recipes are not only free of dairy, but are also much healthier than the foods they are replacing. I would recommend this book not only to those who need to go dairy free, but also to those who are trying to make healthier food choices!

As a vegetarian attempting to go full vegan, this book fills a huge need for me. A challenge is how to replace dairy in many recipes. While every recipe in this book is not vegan, there are a large number of them that either are vegan or have a vegan option. There are so many recipes that I am excited to try starting with the Cream of Portobella Soup and the Carmelized Onion and Mushroom Saute. I will be using this regularly as well as recommending it to anyone interested in moving toward using less dairy.

I received this free e-galley in exchange for my honest review. I was excited about this dairy free cookbook with its promise of recipes containing dairy alternatives. There are some good looking recipes and was glad to see a dairy free ice cream recipe. A lot of the recipes use nuts primarily cashews to capture the creaminess of dairy foods. I haven't yet tried any of the recipes but they look worth trying. A lot of the recipes simply omitted dairy which was not what I expected from this cookbook and I was a little disappointed in the health claims made by the author as they did not seem evidence-based.

For years now I have suffered from stomach pains, bloating and other less than desirable symptoms. I am no longer able to work because of them. This has resulted in me having to go through numerous tests, medicine and, in particular, pain relief which I realise is having no impact on the actual illness itself, all it is doing is masking over the symptoms. At the same time the NHS is becoming a liability and more and more GP's are no longer interested in the job of helping their patients - so, it is time to make some changes myself in the hope that they will benefit me in some way.

That's where this book comes in! Even if it doesn't reduce my stomach issues, I feel I will still gain many health benefits from cutting out dairy produce. I am so grateful that these type of books exist as I would have no idea where to start with creating recipes and suchlike, having been a dairy consumer for 30 years.

I know that I will refer to this to guide me when I begin the journey of changing my diet in a drastic way. The recipes sound absolutely delicious, this puts me at ease and reassures me that you can still eat tasty food without milk, cheese, butter etc.

There are a number of dietary experts that claim that eating dairy free is better for you and I guess it is time to see whether there really is something in those assertions. I cannot wait to feel the difference!

A huge thank you to Alisa Fleming, BenBella and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and impartial review.
