So I kind of went on a thriller/mystery reading spree and you get the majority of them the same sort of thing, this was a little different in its own way. Let me tell you this was a short and creepy read and was amazing.

A tale that really makes you wonder about these technies who come into your house and fix your wifi, or TV or alarm system. It is all too easy these days to add in some cameras and sound recorders and and...
And then the techie can ‘stalk’ you easily from his own home. No more watching our of the window, more watching you in your bedroom as you get ready for bed, or dance to music in your lounge or..
He knows all your secrets.
Lisa Stone always writes a scary book with a unique viewpoint and something new to think about.
I hadn’t realised until reading other reviews that this is same person who wrote about her experiences with foster children as Cathy Glass.
What a writer.. such different genres and yet such consistent writing ability.

Derek fits security systems in people's homes, but Derek also watches his client's without their permission. When break ins start to happen, the police find a link to Derek's security firm. Derek also starts to receive some strange messages on his computer. What happens when the stalker becomes stalked?
I enjoyed this book, and found the plot to flow well. There weren't too many twists and turns, but it was a well written book.

The book grabs the reader by his hair from the first page and holds grip until the very end. Thrilling read. Recommended.

Stalker by Lisa Stone is about Derek - a cyber stalker who likes to watch people and thanks to his job installing security systems he can do that all day long.

Creepy and full of tension.

Great idea for a book and it had lots of potential but unfortunately I found it a bit dull in the second half of the book. This hasn't put me off trying any of her other books in the future though.

Thanks to Avon Books UK for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cathy Glass made a huge following when she wrote about her different experiences in being a Foster parent. Each child with a different story.
I was one of her avid (and still am) followers.

When she jumped over to my next genre that I love to read I just had to seek it out. The first book was absolutely great.

This book I’ve just listened to on audio is amazingly creepy, suspect and very palpable with each chapter you get to.

I must say, the narrator chosen has done a splendid job. It was easy to sync between book and audio.

The thoughts of who we trust in our home from painters, decorators, plumbers to electricians who has not allowed a tradesperson in their home?

The thought of having a security system installed for your own safety and peace of mind should be straightforward right?

This creepy book made me want to go check all my cctv cameras! Stick tape over my laptop camera and work out how I could surf online incognito!
What a fabulous plot this was.

Nothing was as it seemed, no one were who they were and you were kept alert right until the very end.

I can’t wait to start her next book.

This woman has pure natural talent which she must have been hiding under a bushel. I love both her genres.

If you love psychological thrillers, creepy, and keeps your attention, then this book could be for you.

Derek, a loner, lives at home with his elderly mother. He pleasures in life are based around the links he puts in the various security systems he installs in peoples home, as his daily job. He then watches them continuously via these same links and interferes in their lives, relative to what he sees. Needless to say he comes to the attention of the police. Weird

This is my second Lisa Stone novel and I must say I think I preferred the first. Both are dark tales of pretty awful situations but for me this was just a bit too much. The story and writing in themselves are good. Derek is a loner who prides himself on the personal touch he provides when installing security, his speciality is cctv. Unfortunately the personal touch is just a wee bit too personal as he logs onto his clients cctv feeds. Whilst watching he veers between judging others and sexual voyeurism. He's a rather damaged and confused character. But then a series of crimes hit his clients, leading the police to take a special interest in him.

The problem for me with this book is firstly there's never any doubt in the readers mind about Derek's involvement, and it wasn't difficult at all to work out the culprit. Secondly it felt like there was a bit too much voyeurism detail and leaning towards sexual crimes been a rather throwaway plot device. I'm not squeamish about plots involving such subjects but always think it should be handled sensitively. Strangely considering that its actually a true life writer behind this novel I didn't think it was. I think I would read another Lisa Stone novel, based on the storytelling and style but would think twice if it was a similar plot.

Well, this will make you consider who you place your trust in! I will certainly be giving some thought to who I allow into my home in a professional capacity and how much I trust them. If a book affects you like that, then it must be a good tale - and this one is certainly relevant in the current climate of hackers, online snooping & security breaches etc. Intertwined with that is a twisty crime thriller, which I really enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book it kept me hooked the whole way through. Derek Flint is a loner and lives at home with his mother and runs a CCTV company he goes round to people's houses installing the cameras and then watches them from his bedroom as he thinks of them as his family and feels he is watching out for them. A spate of burglaries occur and the police begin to suspect Derek has something to do with them and someone hacks into Derek's system and starts watching him and that's when things take a very creepy turn. Fantastic book absolutely loved it!

Thank you very much to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Stone for the arc of Stalker can't wait for her next book!

It's a fast paced technothriller, I think it's a good place to start reading this genre, certainly a very well structure lineal story line, there's no difficulty understanding the tech side of the book and there's the main reason why I think this book is aim for the older audiences who aren't really familiar with the terms and perhaps the whole internet.
