Five Habits of a woman Who Doesn't Quit by Nicki Koziarz provides motivation and practical application. My favorite quote from the book was a committed woman learns to choose what she wants most over what she wants now. The book delivers practical application and biblical support. Mikki took the story of Ruth and Identified five habits that we can apply today.
Habit 1 - she accepts the assignment of refinement Nikki considers an assignment of refinement a situation where we are given the opportunity to grow through it or go through it. Sometimes in these situations we take our focus off God and live in fear and anxiety. As a result we don’t see what God is trying to do.
Habit 2 - She follows through with her commitments.
Nikki reminds of to not let our emotions and feelings dictate our actions. Faith is holding in there even when you don’t know what is going to happen.
Habit 3 - She remains open to the movement of God. Nikki shares the difference in surrender and humility. This really hit me. Humility is being ok that the only one who sees your obedience may be God. Sometimes when something is really hard I want to say, hey did you see what I did or what I didn’t say.
Nikki also shares what she calls See Over prayers and that they can be downloaded from her website. They include our problem and God’s promises.
Habit 4 - She gives others what she needs
Habit 5 - She moves forward in faith

I would recommend this book for any woman wanting some motivation to not quit.

I have read “5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit” three times over and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. It is Nicki Koziarz’s first book but you wouldn’t know it! She is beautifully honest, steeped in Biblical wisdom and wonderfully practical.

At it’s centre is the Book of Ruth. Nicki uses it to illustrate 5 habits to live out:

Habit One: She accepts the assignment of refinement. 
Habit Two: She follows through with her commitments despite how she feels. 
Habit Three: She stays open to the movement of God. 
Habit Four: She gives others what she needs. 
Habit Five: She moves forward in faith.
Each chapter shares a story from Nicki’s life, unpacks a part of the Biblical journey the women of Ruth go on and shares practical ways to live out the wisdom shared by these fascinating women.

“But I believe how we walk through the assignment of refinement may determine our next assignment. I became really challenged by this idea one day when I read: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. (Rom. 8:18)“ - From “5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit”by Nicki Koziarz

It is an easy but impactful read. Nicki has a wonderful sense of humour but also a great empathy for the challenges we all endure in life. If you are looking for a Bible study for a time such as this, I highly recommend this one! It is a five out of five on the enJOYment scale!

I love the story of Ruth and this book gave me a fresh look at it. It was an encouraging look at was to reduce your inner “quitzilla”. As with all Christian “self-help” read with a discerning eye.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book!

Nicki Koziarz is lovely and authentic in "5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn't Quit". She takes us along her journey of purchasing their farm, the emotions of it all, and different things that she has experienced. The moments of quitting, and then those of pressing on just a little further to see what God has in store for us - as His children. All the while, we are learn and growing through the book of Ruth. I absolutely love Koziarz and the way she teaches through her writings. This is a must read!! I can't wait to read her second book, "Why Her".

I love Nicki Koziarz's style of writing! She is so relatable and real. I also have always loved the story of Ruth from the Bible. So this book was a win/win for me! This book was based on 5 habits that we as women can adopt into our own lives to help us trust God and follow through on our commitments.:
1. She accepts the assignment of refinement.
2. She follows through with her commitments despite how she feels.
3. She stays open to the movement of God.
4. She gives others what she needs.
5. She moves forward in faith.

I was especially challenged by the habit of giving others what I need. For example, if I need comfort, I would offer comfort to someone else. That really challenged me to look outside of myself and see how I can turn a negative situation into something positive for both me and someone else! I also really enjoyed reading about Nicki's "Fixer Upper Farm"! I highly recommend this book!

I am reviewing a copy of 5 Habits Of A Woman Who Doesn't Quit through B&H Books and Netgalley:

In this book we are reminded that taking our agenda to God and asking him to bless it, is dangerous. The author points out too that sometimes discouragement is brought on by our own disobedience.

This book points out that a committed woman learns to choose what she wants most over what she wants now. We are reminded too that opposition is always a way for God to reveal himself. The author points out too that Victory is often found in the most unfamiliar and uncomfortable places.

We are reminded that we often discount what God is doing because we are determined to go our way, and that can lead to disaster.

The author points out too that desperate situations can either bring us closer to God, or pull us away. We are reminded too that God is not a puppet master he gave us freewill to choose our own path.

The author points out too that with God what seems impossible is often the peak of a miracle. And that we should not let momentary feelings forfeit our faithfulness. We are reminded too not to let our feelings dictate our days.

The author points out too that emotional generosity is one of the hardest forms of kindness to give. The author points out too that quitting quickly follows complicated situations, and that there is times when we need to wait as hard as it is. We are reminded too that God wants us to take the time to rest and refuel.

I give 5 Habits Of A Woman Who Doesn't Quit five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Wow! It is so refreshing to read a book and be able to relate to an author that is honest about not knowing it all. The stories made me really relate to the author and rethink some of my own decisions that were made in haste. Definitely recommend this one!

5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn't Quit by Nicki Koziarz takes a look at the book of Ruth in the Bible. The author provides plenty of real life examples of times she has quit or life has been less than perfect. I appreciated her honestly as life can be very trying at times. The author related the five habits to Ruth, but the book falls a bit short if you are looking for in depth Bible study. I did find it encouraging and worth reading.

Koziarz was a quitter. She would promise more than she could deliver. She shares here many of her experiences as she gleaned lessons from the biblical book of Ruth and learned to stop quitting.

I did not find anything phenomenally new in this book. But there were some insights from Koziarz that I really appreciate. She suggests that adversity allows us to know ourselves in a new way. It is also an opportunity to allow God to show Himself in a new way. That is something I'll think about the next time it gets tough and I want to quit.

God worked slowly in Koziarz. We shouldn't expect any sudden and amazing change to be able to continue on rather than quit. The habits that she writes about might take a lifetime to incorporate.

Perhaps the hardest part of not quitting is not acting based on our feelings. Koziarz encourages us to stick to our commitments, regardless of our feelings. I couldn't help but wonder if sometimes our feelings might be spiritual in nature, telling us that we should quit what we've gotten ourselves into. That was something Koziarz did not address.

I recommend this book to readers who love to have teaching surrounded with lots of author stories. There are a few questions at the end of each chapter to help cement the ideas taught. I think this book would be best read with a good friend or in a trusted group. Having someone else along to help work through the concepts would be a good idea. Koziarz has also included Scripture to help readers confess positive promises in their journey.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
