Make sure you read Shattered Fear before you read this as this continues where book one ends.

Brent and Janies story continues as does their relationship. Janies making her own investigations and Brent will do anything he can to keep her safe.

I enjoyed the story and like book one I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is the sequel in the adventure of Janie and Brent, with a heroine grappling with a stalker whose identity we, readers, know. The only unknown element is the Gentleman. This part is read as fast as the first one and one of the reproaches I can make is about the repetitions of the first part in this one. As it’s a serial, the reader must read them in the order. We really don’t need to be told again what happened before.

4 It's Getting Good Now Stars!!

Well, we pick up right where we left off in Shattered Fears and I'm reading each line looking for clues as to who is behind the killings in Charleston. Brent and Janie have moved into a relationship that is better than either expected but there's tension looming over them because things are getting more intense with the case Janie is working.

The more of this book I read the more I was biting my nails because things are heating up and quickly with this case. Everyone is on edge and the closer we get to finding out who he is and who his next victim will be. I think I might know who it is, but won't know until I read Twisted End.

This is the second novella in this series. This book is full of suspense right to the very end. This book ends on a little cliffhanger. This author is fab at building up the suspense throughout the book. i loved the characters in this book, they were well written and very intriguing to read. I can't wait to read more by this author in the future.

Highly recommended

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book

I'll admit I read these books a bit out of order but it's honestly not hard to keep up. This is part 2 of Janie's story, the undercover cop who is swept off of her feet by Brent and who has a killer on her heels. There is great heat between Janie and her man with the crux of the story being who exactly is stalking her. The back and forth between romance and mystery was well done and I am looking forward to completing this story. I do wish Janie was still a bit more bad a$$ since she was a cop after all. There were times she often cowered and forgot her training which I found odd. But Brent is a good guy and I hope they find their forever kind of happy despite this killer making a bit of a mess of her life.

Overall good continuation of these prequel novellas.

Hidden Fate by Tara Thomas is 0.6 in the "Sons of Broad" series. This continues the story of Janie Roberts and Brent Taylor. This book starts where the last one left off and deals with some of the fall out of Janie and Brent's feeling. This book doesn't end their story it picks up again in the next book installment.
Exciting read and a great new series!

After Janie gets fired for refusing to back down from the investigation into the serial killer, she and Brent find themselves targets of a stalker. The stalker lovingly leaves little "presents" for Janie to find. Brent wants nothing more than to steal Janie away from all the drama but there is no way Janie will back down.

We get to see more of Alyssa and Bea and the action and tension increases as The Gentleman's accomplice gets closer and closer to taking out Janie.

Great story and the intriguing characters really capture your attention.

Detective Janie Roberts and the wealthy, charismatic Brent Taylor, were first introduced to readers in the first Sons of Broad novella, “Shattered Fear.” Now, in the second novella, “Hidden Fate,” their story picks up right where the previous one left us hanging. And as Janie and Brent’s burgeoning love story pulses forward, a menacing threat continues to loom much too near.

Prompted by Brent’s imminent move to Washington D.C., the setting temporarily shifts to there from Charleston. With the excuse of looking at apartments, Brent brings Janie along in his attempt to keep the threat at bay. But Brent has an added agenda—a secret hope that Janie will make that move right along with him. But there’s no escaping trouble, despite the safeguards Brent has put in place. Because danger follows Janie, regardless of where she goes.

I’m now left certain as to the identity of the person behind the threat, but the one actually pulling the strings continues to remain a mystery. While I always enjoy a really good love story, it’s the added combination of suspense and intrigue that I truly find addictive. And Tara Thomas’ Sons of Broad series is off to a really great start. With “Hidden Fate’s” cliffhanger ending added to this story’s mix, this is one reader who has been caught in this series’ grip.

Hidden Fate takes place right after Shattered Fear. Janie Roberts is receiving death threats and flowers from the man known for his killings of young women. Recently fired from her job, she thought this would end..... she is finally happy with her life with Brent.... but things take a change for the worse.

The mystery and suspense will leave you on your toes.

This review is for the three Sons of Broad prequels: Shattered Fear, Hidden Fate & Twisted End.

Strong, compelling characters pull readers into a thrilling story that fills readers with suspense and holds them hostage until the very end. This new series is off to a strong start with a series of three prequels that are fast paced, full of edge of the seat suspense, lifelike characters and steamy romance.

The author brought the story to life with well written words that provided vibrant imagery that makes it easy for the readers to picture each and every scene which keeps them glued to the pages and embroiled in the thrilling danger with surprising twists that keep readers guessing and a romance that is sweet and steamy. The first two prequels Shattered Fear and Hidden Fate end is hair raising cliffhangers, so you do have to read all three to get to the happily ever after but even with the romantic conclusion for Janie and Brent, there are still mysteries to be solved and bad guys to catch so the series will continue with the first full length novel Darkest Night and I am looking forward to reading the coming books in the Sons of Broad series.

The story picks up where the first part left off and I was very anxious to know where all was headed. The suspense, the mystery and the romance are well depicted. I enjoyed the plot twists, although they were not always unexpected.

The author’s storytelling is entertaining and fast paced. Although we are getting closer to the revelation of the killer’s identity, the mystery surrounding his mentor, The Gentleman, remains intact. Brent and Janie’s romance develop against a backdrop of danger. The combination of the romance and the suspenseful aspects of the story was well balanced. I can’t wait for more! 3.5 Stars

It saddens me to say that I was right about the person who is working for the gentleman. I still won't reveal his name so no worries. It's just that I didn't want that person to be him and unfortunately he is the villain. I hope we will find who the Gentleman is by the end of the first novella because the suspence is killing me. I wanna know why he wants these women and everything about him. I have a tiny theory about him, but I don't think it's true. I want the revelation to knock me off my feet.

If you had thought that the cliffhanger in the first novella was bad, wait until you read the one in this book. As it turns out, I was correct to say that you should wait for the three novellas to be released before you begin reading them. There is more suspence in Hidden fate and I got even more hooked! Thankfully I won't have to wait much longer for the final novella to see how everything works out. The romance is also good and I was satisfied with what I got. I hope I will see more of Janie and Brent in the full-length novels though.

This is the second novella in the prequel to Tara Thomas' Sons of Broad Series. This book picks up right were the first novella ends with Janie on suspension from her job and her growing relationship with Brent. The killer has set his sights on Janie in this novella. I wanted Janie to be a bit tougher as she is a police officer instead of depending on Brent quite so much. With the book being so short we don't get a lot of character development and I still don't feel like I know that much about Brent or really Janie. The characters are likable enough and the mystery is okay although If I'm right about the villain then I think it's very obvious.

This is the second of three novellas introducing a new series. Picking up right where the first one left off, we still have Janie being threatened by an unknown killer. In this installment, it was very difficult to think that Janie was a trained detective considering her behavior. I honestly don't know how she managed to ever make it to the rank of detective. This installment also ends on a cliffhanger as we wait to see if Janie will survive.

Hidden Fate an intriguing and appealing tale of cat and mouse.
Hidden Fate book 2 in the Sons of Broad series. A novella of romantic suspense written by Tara Thomas and penned under the St. Martin Paperbacks brand (February 13, 2018). When Janie received a package in the mail it was a surprise that she didn’t want, and she only has fourteen days to determine who sent it.
Hidden Fate isn’t a stand-alone read. Though the author tried in a few pages of the first chapter, to catch the readers up to speed. Since I never read Shattered Fears, I couldn’t really get a handle on Bret and Janie relationship.
This story was fast paced that before you know it the story was over, and the mystery villain was unveiled. The villain of the piece was obvious from the start. With the biggest mystery of who really wants Janie dead and why was left unsolved. The book ended on a cliffhanger. The good thing is the author doesn’t have you wait long to see what happens next. Twisted End by Tara Thomas coming February 20, 2018.

Hidden Fate is a fantastic romantic suspense. Well written plot with many twists and turns that kept me guessing.. The author is new to me and I enjoyed their writing. I recommend to fans of suspense.

Picks up directly after the first prequel novella SHATTERED FEAR in Tara Thomas's upcoming Sons of Broad series. While the first novella laid the groundwork for the story, this one didn't feel beneficial to me. It didn't have the air of suspense I was hoping for, and in fact it pretty much gives away the identity of one of the bad guys right from the start. I feel like it was more filler than anything and think it could have been left out of the lead-up.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Thriller
Triggers: Stalking, cliff hanger

This book starts where the previous book left off. Janie and Brent are still madly in love and while their romance is a part of the story, it's the mystery behind their romance that I am most interested in.

Brent is still struggling with his decision to move to DC, but with Janie no longer being held down by her job, she's free to go with him and help him choose houses. However, despite them trying to leave it all behind, the stalker follows them to DC and continues to create chaos in their lives.

I really enjoyed watching the mystery unfold but can't wait for the next book to see how it ends!

3.5 Stars The second of three novella that kick off the Sons of Broad series, Hidden Fate kicks up the intrigue and suspense levels and has you waiting for the third installment.

This is the second prequel for Tara Thomas’ new romantic suspense Son’s of Broad series. I would make sure to read these first. I am really enjoying this series. I don’t tend to steer of course and read others genres. Contemporary romance is my go to but I’m glad I tried this series.

This novella picks up right where the first one ends. Janie met Brent Taylor while working undercover. Knowing she shouldn’t get involved with him being he might be a suspect doesn’t stop her. Janie now finds herself the new target of the serial killer.

Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
