I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley for an honest review.

I feel like I should start by saying that I requested this book as a bit of a gag. My feedback percentage on Netgalley is abysmal because I get easily suckered in to a lot of read now books that I just don't have time to actually read. Meanwhile I have a blogging friend who is much more discriminating when it comes to books she selects with a pretty healthy feedback percentage. This was a book that she really wanted to read, so she requested it and got denied. So I requested it to also get denied so I could be like "Yeah, they turned me down too." But then they didn't. I'm not sure I've ever been more upset about being approved for a book I requested than I was about this one.

I also went into this book, the second in a duology, essentially blind because I have not read the first book. So there were a lot of things about the story that just didn't make much sense to me at first, and not a whole lot of rehashing of the backstory that I can only assume I would be familiar with if I had read book one. While that made my reading experience somewhat less enjoyable, that was my own fault, and I actually appreciate the author for not doing major rehashing that would've brought me up to speed (because that would have annoyed me if I had read the first book like a normal person).

Even with those things in mind, once I got into this book, I had a hard time putting it down because I very much wanted to know what happened next. The plot twists kept me on my toes, but even without the book one information, I was mostly able to suss things out before any of the major reveals (which I consider a plus because I don't want to read a book that makes me feel like a big doofus for being able to figure things out).

Overall I give Tell Me No Lies 4.2 out of 5 stars.

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

I loved the first book in this series so I was insnley excited for the second book. I wanted to love this as much as I did the first. It was just to slow for my taste and did not hold up to its predecessor.

The task of repopulating the senior library has been an exciting and daunting task aS in a boarding school our aim is to encourage all members of the community to read. Because of this, I have been searching down a wide and diverse range of books to read that will entice a wide cross-section of the school to come in, browse and find books that they love.
Books like this will ensure that the senior students in the school see the library as a diverse, modern and exciting place with books that speak to them and they want to recommend to their friends, classmates, teachers and tutors.
It is an engrossing and exciting read with fully-formed characters and a plot that ensures that it's hard to look away. It is as far from formulaic as it is possible to be and kept me up far too late in order to finish it. I immediately wanted to read all of this writer's other books as I loved their voice and found that it really drew me into the story and made me think about it even when I'd stepped away from this tale.
This is a thought-provoking read which I'm sure will be a popular and well-read addition to our new library; I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to read it and I know that the students are going to absolutely love it too!

So I was a HUGE huge fan of Follow Me Back when it first came out. It was plot twist after plot twist that kept me on the edge of my seat. So of course I jumped at the chance when this was available on netgalley. However, this second installment was a bit of a disappointment. Sure there were still plenty of twists and turns, and I think the way the story is told is extremely unique and engaging (with the flashbacks and police records) but....it just didn't have the spark the first one had. I also know there have been a lot of people complaining of the mental health rep, but I'm not at liberty to discuss that as I do not have the mental illness the main character has and therefore would be overstepping. The climax was very riveting and had me on the edge of my seat. Unsure if I will continue to read books by this author, but not a horrible read.

Tell Me No Lies is terrifyingly great. Social media is such a wonderful but scary thing, I absolutely loved reading this novel about the potential dark side of social apps.

Ugh. Geiger‘s books just aren‘t good. So so so so so cliche. Unlikeable and inconsistent characters. Sh*tty plots. Poor mental illness depiction. Blahhhhh. Not worth the time to read.

This was a fun and enjoyable sequel to "Follow Me Back." It was a relief to get some answers after that cliffhanger! Recommended, but be sure to read the series in order.

While this sequel was not quite as exciting as Follow me Back, it was fun to revisit the fun characters and explore another view of social media and trying to hide in our very connected world. Some events and choices did not seem accurate or true to character's previous actions, but overall this novel was a solid sequel and explored the characters' growth very well.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author. I probably struggled to get into it as I’ve not read Follow Me Back.

I Thoroughly Enjoyed the first book in this series, Follow me Back, and I was so excited to read the sequel. Tell me No Lies follows Tessa and Eric after where the first book left off. You find out there is another mystery to be solved, as they have interviews with the police again in between chapters. The police interviews were one thing that I really liked about this book. It made things interesting and made you keep thinking about what happened for there to be an interview. Eric and Tessa’d Relationship continues to grow and I really loved getting to actually see them together in this.
Blair is also back and a part of this plot, but I wish we would have gotten more from him. We didn’t get to hear a lot from him and I feel like his story line was never finished. It was just cut off short with a quick explanation at the end.
Same as the first book, I totally did not see the plot twist coming at the ending and I always love that about books.
Although, I did not enjoy this as much as the first book, I still really enjoyed reading this and sss more of Tessa and Eric.

A few weeks ago I went back and reread these amazing books. I can't begin to explain how much I adore this little duology. I was heartbroken when I found out it was just a duology. A.V. Geiger can write a mean mystery/thriller book and I really hole she writes more in the future. I thought the first book was crazy but the second book raised the bar. If you like YA thrillers then I highly suggest this duology. Even if you dont care too much for music or the whole boy and craze these books still have a lot to offer anyone. Thanks so much @sourcebooksfire for sending these to me!

Follow Me Back was one of the most interesting, completely unique and fully engaging books that I had encountered. Just the main concepts alone were different, dealing with mental issues and social media, but then the format where most of the interactions were completed through twitter and false identities. Add a stalker and potential murder? Yes please! Make sure you read Follow Me Back before you even attempt to read Tell Me No Lies.

I went into the second book with very high expectations. Unfortunately I did not enjoy this sequel as much as the first. I was way more confused when I started the book than I hoped, expecting it to pick up right where the first left off, but instead it was a month later and some of the details were missing to really catch me up. A new mystery was started, all the while a dangerous stalker was still on the loose, so I was all in again...and then I wasn't. The majority of the book was a slow build to the fantastic, surprising ending- but I almost did not get there because I was overwhelmed by the angst that was Tessa in the middle of the story. The voice and character development from the first book, and the start of this one was not the same and I felt a little underwhelmed. I am glad I got to the ending but it was a battle.

The ending did feel a little unfinished so I wonder if there will be a third book and I would check it out, as well as other books by the author. I am sure others will really love this sequel, it was just not for me or my expectations. Visit me at https://smadasbooksmack.blogspot.com/ for more bookish ramblings

This was a 3.5 star read for me. I didn't feel as much tension in the story as I did with the first one. I do enjoy the format and the take on social media catfishing that is a theme in the first book, and in this book as well, but the pacing was slower this time around. It was almost too easy for me to put the book down for days, or weeks, and I felt there were some parts of the book that were rushed or thrown in as extra dramatic effect.

Follow Me Back mixed the dangerous elements of being online, a pop star, romance, and an interesting use of multi storytelling formats to create a intensely readable, if underdeveloped, thriller. I was curious enough to pick up the sequel to see how the story would progress. Sadly, this book ended up being not for me.

A.V. Geiger's writing style is very readable. It is easy to get lulled into the story because her writing is simple and engaging. The use of interrogation transcripts to break up the chapters is a great touch. It lets the story unravel at a measured pace and that keeps the reader's interest. The writing style itself is fine and because of that I would be willing to check out another book by this author if it caught my attention.

The plot is where I struggled. The ultimate answer of who is behind everything that is happening is a logical solution. The motive makes sense for the character but was a little under explored. I wish it had been fleshed out. I feel like we were told the motive instead of shown it. Everything outside of the who and the why did not work for me though. There is the inclusion of plot points that never really go anywhere and are just left as loose ends. There are a couple of plot points that feel entirely unnecessary in the end. They serve no purpose other than to be a 'twist' or 'reveal' of some kind and the story would be the same without them. This plot sort of feels like every twist was just thrown in because it felt like they should be there. They didn't service the story in any tangible way. It is a case of too much happening and none of it really working together to create something cohesive. There were some interesting elements that I wish we would have followed more than we did.

This is a book that is plot driven. Plot driven books can sometimes when when the plot itself is engaging enough. This book needed me to connect with the characters for it to work (at least I needed to connect when them). The character stuff just wasn't strong enough for me. I didn't feel like I learned anything new about them from the first book or that they changed in any tangible way. There are hints that the events of this book changed them towards the end, but we don't see any progression or change until those final moments. It reads, at least for me, like all of the focus was on the plot, and how crazy it could be made, instead of on the characters.

This mentions that it is the conclusion of the Follow Me Back duology and as a result the ending felt unsatisfying to me. This is mainly because it feels unfinished. There are so large plot points that I felt were left dangling that should have been wrapped up in the ending. It ties in to how certain plot points were tossed in without ever being really fleshed out. It simply made the story feel unresolved in a way that would work better if the series were to continue with another book.

I predict many will love this more than I did. It's a wild, twisty, over the top ride that may work for readers who are only interested in for that reason. I think might work better for readers who like a more plot driven novel. I just didn't connect with the story, found the plot of this out too disjointed, and wish it had been a little more tightly pulled together.

This is the sequel to Follow Me Back, which is a YA novel that follows two main characters, Tessa and Eric. Tessa suffers with anxiety, and Eric is a massive pop star who feels the pressures of the industry.

This novel picks up straight after the events of the previous book, which ended on quite a cliffhanger, so I will have to be vague in this review to avoid spoilers.

I loved how topics covered in the previous book were built upon even more. I also love that we got to keep the fun style from the first book. So again the book opens with police interviews and mystery. This book has a fabulous twist in it, which I didn't see coming at all, my mind created almost every other possibility.

I loved this book, though I don't think it was as good as the first book, hence the four stars rather than five that I've given the first book. This is a really satisfying conclusion to the series, and tied up all the loose ends. This was a quick read just like the first novel, and I struggled to put it down.

Thank you to the publisher for a copy of Tell Me No Lies.

I really loved book 1 and I think this was in large part due to the quirky romance. In this book, although there wasn’t anything wrong with the story—in all honesty, the mystery was surprising and satisfying—I had trouble with the fact that every single character from this book suffered from a mental affliction. It didn’t allow me to connect with any character.

At the end of Book #1, we read as Tessa and Eric disappeared, all that was left was cracked cellphones and a trail of Eric's blood. What had happened that fateful night when Eric went to see Tessa one last time? Three months later, we read as Eric and Tessa have popped up in Mexico living in a caravan and enjoying life as free people. The thing is though that they are about to discover that no-one in showbusiness can ever be free unless a tragedy occurs. When a news report shows up about Dorian being found alive, and a crazed fan framed for his murder - it starts to get Tessa worried that if the public ever sees them - will that be how the music world make Tessa out to be - a crazed fan who kidnapped the star, Eric Thorn? Think Misery for Teens. Soon their whirlwind romance and hiding away is over when they are discovered and betrayed. Soon Eric is back singing away and being the pop star every girl on the planet, and Tessa is in the background being his social media representative. As Eric goes on with his role, Tessa starts to feel that their relationship and romance was as fleeting as some rockstars career as she is being pushed further into the background and away from Eric. What happens though when tragedies start to happen, and actual murders occur, and it looks like someone has it out for Tessa and wants her either framed for the murders or locked up where she can't be anywhere near Eric ever again? Can Eric save Tessa once again and prove to her and the world that he loves her always ?

This was a pretty quick read. The book was not bad. It has a lot of action in it that's for sure. This one I like a little better then the first one. There are lots of unexpected twists in this book compared to the first one. There is also still other media in the book such as the police transcripts and intenet messages. I honestly didn't think a second book would be a good idea when I read the first one. After reading the second book I can say that it wasn't necessary to really have a 2nd book still but it does give you some information and explanations from the 1st book. If you are investing into the characters then you will enjoy having a second book. I unfortunately am not attached to anything in these books.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author. I probably struggled to get into it as I’ve not read Follow Me Back.
It’s a modern thriller centering around social media.
I enjoyed it but it’s not one of my favourites of this year.
