M/F Thriller
Triggers: Torture, Murder, Stalking

This is an interesting thriller. I had a more difficult time getting into the story simply because of how it was written. It felt that we were dropped in to the middle of the story. So, while it took me a good chunk of the first part of the book to really get into the characters and their story, I did end up enjoying it.

Rory has been living in distress since he pulled Amara out of the pit she had been thrown in after she was kidnapped and left for dead. He had to be away from her and despite wanting her with every fiber of his being, he simply was unable to go to her due to a manipulative boss.

Amara has been living a walking nightmare since her kidnapping. She cannot remember what happened for the last year. Her memory has been blank since that night. One thing that hasn't been blank are her vivid dreams. She dreams of Rory and doesn't know what to believe – did she love him? Who was he to her?

As the story unravels, you get to see more and more of who Rory and Amara were before the incident and who they have become. Both are strong in their own way and when the culmination of their love and tragedy is revealed, you want to hold them each and watch them get the happiness that they deserve.

I hope that the brothers get their own stories in the upcoming books.

This book could be considered a spin-off of the Elite Ops series as many of the characters are revisited in this book. It’s been a while since I've read the Elite Ops series and I think I would have benefited from a re-read to familiarize myself again with all the characters.

There is a lot going on in this book: torture, betrayal, and memory loss.

Riordan Malone works for Elite Ops and during one his missions, he fell in love with the beautiful Amara Resnova. While doing a side job for her father, Amara is kidnapped and during the rescue, Riordan is hurt. Now, six months later, Amara shows up on his door and the only thing she knows is that he is the only one who can protect her from the people who are still trying to kill her.

Riordan doesn't understand what caused Amara's memory loss or her father's lack of concern about her safety. Not trusting anyone else with her safety, Riordan is determined to get to the people who are targeting his lover.

Lots of twists and turns that make you want to keep reading until all hours of the night.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

Another Special Ops from Lora Leigh. The way she wrote her ops series, have that same intensity. It is more on the Contemporary side rather than Romantic Suspense. But then again, I enjoyed it.

The way the abduction was solved somehow lacked the excitement and the quality of a good op. Well, they were waiting for the memory to surface, so, that is that.

I was right on some of the plots in the story, but what I really like was Grandpops, and Noah Jr.

Currently reading book two...

I would prefer not to publish a review of this book as it will be negative. It was a DNF for me.

I didn't like the romance at all, it was overbearing and over the top..

Thanks for the opportunity to read it, but not for me.

A thoroughly tantalizing book full of twists and turns. The characters are so well written that they jump from the pages.

Loved the connection between the main characters, Riordan and Amara, but the story just felt disjointed. I usually love Lora Leigh's books, but the last couple haven't been great. They are still good, but something is off. I love amnesia stories, but Amara was too bland a lot of the time. There was a tragic event that caused Amara to have amnesia, and she has forgotten; sort of, that she was romantically involved with Riordan. Riordan is wonderful, and the depth of passion they feel is super sweet. There's secrets and danger going on. Amara's father is some type of mafia guy, who has some dangerous enemies, so Amara is still in danger. Riordan is one of Amara's bodyguards, and they are still trying to find who originally kidnapped Amara. I liked the premise and the romance, but I just wanted the flow of the story to be better. Also, more action would have been good. Still a good story that kept me entertained.

Great new series from Lora Leigh. I really enjoyed Rory and Amara's story and looking forward to more in the Brute Force series.

When it comes to Lora Leigh, I feel like her books are hit and miss. I couldn't get into the Elite Ops series. The romance always seemed forced and so heavily focused on the physical sex rather than emotional romance. I started this book with trepidation, but I loved ever single page. This book is a definite hit! Amara and Riordan (love the names!) have a hot and heavy history that they need to reconcile with and danger in the present that they need to face. The suspense was action-packed, and the romance was both incredibly steamy and swoon-worthy as these two try and find their place in each other's lives. Can't wait to read the next one!

Collision Point by Lora Leigh is a romantic suspense with plenty of steam. The dangers clinging to the heroine have the hunky hero coming to the rescue then getting it in with the gal. You’ll get lots of excitement and even more steamy sex in the mix.

I’m always nervous about starting a book series that is a spin-off without reading the original that it came from. Thankfully, this never seemed like a spin-off because all the information to understand the story is there for you to read. That made this an easy beginning to a new world for me. Which is funny because my notes from reading the book completely contradict how I started this post. I know how that sounds, but bear with me, the confusion there seems like that is completely authors intention here.

See Amara is like a Russian crime lords daughter. At the start of the book, someone breaks her body while she was being held captive. Then as she is weak, she gets rescued. So my first thought while I was reading and as she is seeing people she knows are rescuing her. On top of that, she is already completely in love with one, Riordan. During the rescue, she knows it is a trap that is meant to kill Riordan. So as they are escaping, she trying to warn him of the trap and he gets shot carrying her. As they are making their escape on the helicopter, Amara hears that Riordan is dying from one of the men helping with the rescue. He dies but comes back a time or two. Amara wakes up completely forgetting him and a bunch of stuff from the past year. So you get to read the journey while she rediscovers her love for him. Amara forgets a lot, from meeting him on to waking up in the hospital was completely gone. She couldn’t remember any of it. There is only one thing that she remembers and it is an intense loss. She lost someone that day.

Flash over to Riordan because he isn’t just a hunk of meat to throw at the reader to enjoy super hot romps. I mean he is in a way but... Anyway; he is a good a good Irish boy that has a family attribute that is magical. It’s not actual magic but it might as well be labeled that way. Basically, Malone men if they have the soulful Irish eyes and when they fall in love with their one soulmate, they have this intense bond with them. It reminds me of a bond you find in some vampire romances. Where they instinctively know how the other is feeling or thinking. Oh, they also connect to each other through dreams and nightmares too. It’s called “finding their way” which I like. I like that it has its own family legacy to it.

Having that soulful connection and her memory loss was a strong way to explain that soul connection that they share. There are few surprises that I feel were predictable and then some I didn’t expect. I didn’t see it going that way. The whole journey through the book was good as she rediscovered her memories and her love and loss. I really like the book and how well the whole story was written out.

Now I have heard Lora Leigh over the years and I know that she has tons of books but I have never read one. If I have it was so long ago that I completely forgot the story. Although I really don’t think I have. So my opinion is this is a pretty good book with a little mystery and “magic”. I’m calling it magic.

Lora Leigh knows how to mix her romances with hot alphas and strong women in a perfect medley of action, suspense, mystery and hot bedroom activity. I’m a big fan of the amnesia sub-plot, and reading about Amara remembering her and Riordan’s relationship and her abduction was intense, heartbreaking, scary, and uplifting. Lora did a great job keeping me guessing on who the villain was and how they fit into the plot. I second-guessed myself numerous times whenever the plot twisted in a new direction. Plus, since you were learning about Amara’s memories as she was, you were blind to a lot of the clues until the end and then bam! I was shocked. There were plenty of sexy times to enhance the plot, Riordan could not keep his hands of his lady love, Amara, and he loved the dirty talk.

Amara Resnova is the daughter of a notorious crime lord. Due to a losing her memory after an "accident", she turns to Riordan Malone, an Elite Ops agent. She knows that someone is trying to kill her, but she doesn't know who ... or why.

This is the first point in a new series, so there is a lot of world building and story creating going on, which I love, and Lora Leigh delivers! This was the perfect blend of excitement and sexual tension. Amara and Rory are an explosive combination together and you can feel the tension through the pages!

Amara Resnova is the daughter of a crime lord. Due to a memory loss, she turns to Riordan Malone, an Elite Ops agent. She knows that someone is trying to kill her, but she doesn't know who ... or why.

They've met before when he fell in love with her and then broke her heart. But she's different now ... older, wiser, tougher. Riordan is still attracted, but he's afraid he's missed his only chance with her.

This book is typical Lora Leigh .. hunky guys, beautiful women, graphic sex hotter than an Arizona summer, revenge, murder. It's fast-paced, action-packed from start to finish.

Many thanks to the author / St. Martin's Press / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Man I love a good steely man haha

This book drew me in from page one and I absolutely loved the chemistry Lora built between Rory and Amara.

they seem like two people who would be ready rip into each other or rip into each others clothes. Either one depending on the mood.
But I just loved that underlining heat and both of their personal stories. And how they wove together.

this story had a little of everything with the romance, suspense, and bit of thrilling excitement.

And I would suggest anyone to pick this up if you're looking for a good steamy and fast paced read.

5 stars for Collision Point for sure!!

3.5 Hearts This is a new series for Lora Leigh. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I have to say I think people will either love or dislike it. That being said I am not sure which one I am.

As for the adventure. There is a lot. Amara has lost her memory and Rory will do what he needs to do so she is protected but also does what he needs to do to have her get her memory back and to trust him again. The problem is I can’t image that sex is the best cure for amnesia.

But if you are reading this for the sex scenes that Leigh is becoming quite known for than you will love this story.

Being that this is the first in the series there is a lot of getting to know. I will certainly be picking up book 2 in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Those readers familiar with the author's previous series will not have a problem falling head first into Collision Point, the first entry of the Brute Force Series. This first entry has all of the markings of a Lora Leigh tale, which includes a good storyline and lead characters whose chemistry leaps off the page.

What happens when the son of a Russian mob boss goes legit? Well, a lot of baggage is cut loose (some still breathing) and they gain more enemies than they had before. Amara, the daughter of the Resnova crime heir represented a solid female lead for the first entry of Brute Force series but I would have liked to see her character do more. Amara's character is a survivor with incredible heart and loyalty but I do feel there was a little something missing. Amara's character survived being kidnapped, being brutally beaten and memory loss. After going through all of that there was still an expectation to see more an evolution of her character beyond the regaining of her memory.

Riordan is the sexy alpha male lead that Ms. Leigh is famous for and nothing is missing from this character's makeup. Ubber protective and willing to go toe-to-toe with Amara's father, Riordan is the cock-of-the-walk of this entry but besides being great mind candy his character is a bit limited. His task is to keep Amara alive and there aren't many action sequences that display his ability as her protector. Was looking forward to having scenes where this character was kicking the tar out of something. As her lost love, there is more than enough fuel for the interactions between the two characters. The chemistry is off the charts.

While reading, it will be easy for the reader to believe that they know who is behind the plot to take down the Resnova family but the author will keep the reader guessing until the end. Since the memory loss angle took up most of the story the ending is a bit rushed. Trust and believe there are many more characters that didn't meet with what they deserved.

I've been waiting for Rory's story since Wildcard. This is right on par for a Lora Leigh story - strong, alpha hero and kickass heroine, taking out the baddies to get to their HEA.

My Review: I love Lora Leigh. She writes some incredibly hot scenes, and her heroes always make me drool. Collision Point is no different. The steamy scenes made this book, I just wish there were a few less of them. Which is something I never thought I'd say. But I think what I really mean is I wish there was more emphasis on the story. I just needed more, there. A bit more punch, as it were.

I will say Lora Leigh is good at suspense. This book had a different tone than my favorite Lora Leigh book (Loving Lies, if you're curious), but that just shows that this author has a fantastic range. And since this is the start of a new series, I'm excited about getting more!

Cover Lovin': Appropriately suspense-y

Recommendation: Start of a new series.

Final Rating: THREE out of FIVE stars (3/5)! Wanted more story to even out with the steamy scenes.
