The suspense begins right from the start. Drama and intrigue. Lots of cursing and heat. NOT Christian approved.

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book

I really wanted to like this book because I am a Lora Leigh fan but I found myself confused because although this is book # 1 in the Brute Force series I felt like I needed to read some other series... that based on the characters that you meet in this book... was probably awesome. If I ignored the confusion in the beginning of this book.... then overall it was ok. I think that if there was some disclosure about needing to read whatever series that is attached to this one before reading this book than maybe this book would have gotten 4 stars instead of 3.

Riordan Malone, or Rory as his family calls him, is now a member of the Brute Force Agency. When we last saw him he was running the garage alongside his sister-in-law, but now that his it has been revealed that his brother isn’t actually dead, Rory needs to branch out. Given a job as a bodyguard, he finds himself quickly involved with the young woman he is protecting. While he’s out of town, she is kidnapped and beaten severely. Rory is gravely injured during the rescue. Six months later, the woman he can’t get out of his mind is on his doorstep.

Amara Resnova knows her father isn’t perfect. As the son of a Russian mobster, he has tried to live his life on the straight and narrow for the sake of his daughter. Working with Brute Force to provide intel is one way he does that. After Amara was kidnapped and tortured, she lost the memory of the six months leading up to the attack. She knows that someone died during the rescue, but her father continues to deny that anyone died. As more suspicious incidents begin to happen that make Amara fear for her life again, she knows she needs to confront the man who is haunting her dreams and ask him to protect her.

Rory is pissed off that Amara doesn’t remember anything about their relationship, but the doctors agree that pushing her to remember before she’s ready could be harmful. He sets out to try to get her to fall for him all over again, not realizing that the dreams that he has been having, she has too. There is a saying that when a Malone man finds the one for him, the souls are connected. We saw this with Nathan’s story when his wife refused to move on. Logically she knew he must be dead, they buried him after all, but her soul knew that he was alive.

As these strange coincidences keep popping up, each one putting Amara’s life in danger, Rory closes ranks around her, bringing in Noah and his team to help protect the woman that he loves. Along the way, Amara’s memories start to return and it becomes clear that her mind is protecting her from some horrible betrayal and heartache. Riordan grows more frustrated with her not remembering and then he too is told one of the reasons that she might be protecting herself. There were a few scenes that were emotional and hard to read in this book and this was one of them.

Amara and Riordan had electric chemistry but they had a deeper connection. There was plenty of action swirling around them but the focus of the story was their relationship and I loved that. I took several guesses about who was the one that kidnapped her, all wrong, and there were many twists that I did not see coming. All of this combined for a fantastic read!

I am definitely looking forward to more books in this series. The Elite Ops were some of my favorites of Lora Leigh’s books, and I suspect this series will be as well.

Lora Leigh is a must read author for me. Collision Point was a great read and I couldn't put it down.My interest never wavered and the characters were well written.

This book was just okay. I think it was trying to many things and could have used a very aggressive editor. The story has a ton of potential and I think I would give book two in the series a try to see if the writing matures.

Go into this as a light erotica and I do not think you would be disappointed.

Amara and Rioridan had great chemistry. I enjoyed this book, however the story felt a bit choppy. It didn't feel like the 1st book of a series. I felt like I was missing pieces somewhere. This was the first book I've read of of Lora Leigh. Reading other reviews I did find it is a spin off. I still would like to see where the rest of the story (next book) takes these two.

A fairly well plotted romantic suspense, where the main character Amara, has amnesia from the prior year of her life due to the beatings that occurred while she was abducted. when Amara reaches out to her bodyguard, Riordon "Rory" Malone for help in piecing together what happened and to protect her on the chance that her feelings about impending doom are correct. Readers will flip pages more for the steamy romance than the suspense.

My first book by this author was a DNF. I like my plots with a little bit of the sexy times. Not the other way around. I was not impressed with this writing of this book or the characters. I love me a strong alpha male but...I don't want a damn caveman who beats on his chest screaming possessive. With all of this, I couldn't get into the "suspense" aspect of the story. I mean if there even was one, since I DNF.

Romantic Suspense is generally my favorite genre. The plot of Collision Point has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it is overshadowed with the sex scenes. The book needed to focus more on the plot and the "passion" of the romance rather than just sex. . Alpha males can be fascinating heroes, but Riordan Malone needs a more rounded personality for this story to be in the "must read" list.

Won't be posting a review for this title. This was actually a did not finish book

Even though this was the first novel in a new series, a lot of the characters carried over from another series, so it didn't feel like a completely new one. This was a solid erotic romance, but fans of romantic suspense might find the sex scenes gratuitous.

Collision Point is the first book in Lora Leigh’s new Brute Force Series. This is a spin-off from her popular Elite Ops Series; which I would recommend checking out!

I must start with how much I love Lora Leigh! If I’m feeling the need for a steamy romance with a good story to boot she’s one of my go to authors. However, I’m sad to say that this book fell a bit flat for me. While I enjoyed it, I didn’t love it.

Riordan almost lost his life saving his love Amara. But after months of not hearing anything from her he’s not a happy camper. Even so, he can’t turn Amara away when she shows up on his doorstep asking for help.

I liked Riordan. He is the typical possessive alpha male, which will appeal to all the ladies out there who love these swoon worthy men. But for me he was just skirting the edge of over the top jerk. Regardless, I thought he was intense and passionate.

Amara lost her memory. She’s looking for answers but when she finds herself in danger she knows in her heart that Riordan is the only person she can turn to. I didn’t like or dislike Amara. She’s the typical heroine in distress with both likeable and irritating characteristics. As a result, I could neither connect or truly see a connection between her and Riordan. I wanted to get to know her more but as soon as I started to become invested in her character I was yanked back. I know exactly why too…the sex.

Steam doesn’t bother me in the least. However, I also like a story. There is definitely potential for a very good romantic suspense here BUT the potential was overshadowed by the extreme sexual escapades.

Lora Leigh is generally very good at balancing steam and story development. She can give her readers the best of both worlds; but this book came across as straight up erotica. Don’t get me wrong what we did get of the actual plot was good but wasn’t quite enough.

With that said it was entertaining as a whole, just a bit underwhelming when compared to her other works. Either way I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see where it goes.

Great continuation of her original series from the late 90's to 00's. When I first started reading the story it reminded me of one of her other books, where the victim was imprisoned in a pit. Upon reading the story a little more I realized that it was a continuation of the previous group or characters. What a treat, it was for me to realize that the cast of character I loved reading about were back. Ivan the Russian Mobster is back and ready to go to war for his daughter, by rehiring the guardian that nearly lost his own life rescuing her. The chemistry between the sheets and out is off the charts!!!! Lots of military action / mobsters and intrigue to keep the reader entertained. I read this book in one night....could not put it down.

Had I realized that many of the characters and psyche from Leigh's Elite Ops series would be so prominent in this new Brute Force series, I would've passed. Long-running series tend to bore me, leaving the feeling of sameness ... Collision Point has that feeling. The setting was interesting, the characters interesting, the writing on point (as usual), but it's a story I've read before. I'd love a brand new story with brand new characters who are loners without big families that but in and make all the decisions for them ... written in Leigh's style, now that would be a thrilling read.

It was SO freaking confusing!! It jumped right into the action, I'm assuming from a previous book. because, damn! I trudged through but it kept getting more convoluted and confusing. The hero just seemed like a douche to me and the heroine, not much better. I'll pass on the rest. Thanks.

I liked this book...I think. The chemistry between the main characters was not all that strong considering they had a previous history and the story line was not very clear at points in the book.

This book had no appeal to me. I was totally lost from page one. I have read this author's work in the past and was really disappointed with this work.

This book started with heart-pounding clarity; the action-packed rescue of a woman held captive. But then the momentum shifts, and the story becomes very unclear. Like looking through a blurry camera lens, the characters and their emotions start to draw you in but you cannot bring them into focus. As you keep at it, the plot begins to take shape. Who is Ivan Resnova and what does he do for a living? Why can’t Amara remember her time with Riordan Malone? Based on how the two respond to each other, Amara and Riordan (or at least their bodies) certainly know each other well. I kept trying to keep track of what felt like loose ends. At the end, the picture does snap into focus, but you may be too exhausted to feel satisfied!

This was the first Lora Leigh book I have ever read, so I cannot compare this book with the author’s previous works. The writing was fairly good although the characters did not seem fully developed. It seems some of the them appeared in prior series by Ms. Leigh, so that may be why I am missing some of the backstory. After I finished the book, I realized that as I read the story, I felt as off-kilter as Amara. I shared her frustration with her memory loss and how the fragments of her missing year would dance in and out of her reach. But I think that disjointedness could have been better done - perhaps a little less confused and more cohesive for the plot pacing.

The interaction between Amara and Riordan was also a point of interest and contention, at the same time! That itself can be a dichotomy - is it the the sign of an excellent storyteller or an amatuer writer? The bond that Amara and Riordan had seemed so mystical and unique, I really was intrigued. But mixed heavily into their recognition of this special connection to one another was there constant thoughts of sex with one another. Constant. Now. Before. During arguments. During emotional scenes. Just sitting around. It was clear Amara and Riordan couldn’t get enough of each other, but…… Now, I am no prude and enjoy the “romance” in romantic suspense, but this aspect of the book was done with a very, very heavy hand and I think it took away from what could have been some very intense, sexy, steamy scenes.

Overall, the book was a 3.5 star read for me. I would not hesitate reading another book by this author, and I am interested in what will become of some of the characters (Elizaveta clearly has a story to be told.) It had great potential, but what should have been “slight touches” or “flourishes” to the story became a heavy slathering that really diminished the plot.

When I started reading the book, I because almost sure this was not the first book in the series or that their is a book before Collision Point that I had no Idea of. I was right and wrong. This book is probably a spin-off of the Elite Ops Series but as far as I do know this is the first book in the series.

The beginning felt disjointed, since it felt like I was missing a major piece of the back story. I was thrust into the middle of the story and it was not a happy feeling. Unlike my previous foray into Lora Leigh which I almost always read in one go. This time it took a couple tries to get into the book and when it did, the story made more sense.
