I still do not understand why in the heck I am still reading this.. Bea is supposed to be an attorney and smart but she does the most dumbass moves.. my god I am being spoon fed crap, you knew who Jade was immediately, you knew who Tom was working for, and Jade warned Bea and she still gets in the car..come on!! Really, really.. I am so disgusted with myself.

3.5

Romantic suspense. I may hate cliffhangers, but she already had me hooked before I realized it was one. The author knows what she's doing.

This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

3.5 stars

The first book in the Sons of Broad series was an okay read for me. I was glad that I enjoyed this book more than I did the previous one. The characters acted more mature, and I felt a connection between them even though this couple is already married, and how they met is told in a couple of sentences instead of a flashback. For me it wasn't necessary for me to really see how they met and because I was more interested in solving the case/mystery that continues from the previous book into this one. I am still not sure what is going on and why the Benedict family is targeted by this Gentleman.

There were a couple of times the main characters didn't do anything with information that warned them. They kind of went head-first into a dangerous situation and it was obvious what would happen next. This total disregard to the warning was unbelievable to me and could've been handled much better. If the author wanted the characters come face-to-face with the bad guys, she could've found another more logical way to do it. This is one of my book pet peeves, especially in romantic suspense books, and that it why I rated this book 3.5 stars instead of 4. However, there was a twist at the end which has me excited for the next book in the series. I can't wait to see how this series will end and get all the answers to my questions.

Knox Benedict has a pretty big secret. He married Beatrice and didn't tell anyone. After she was attacked she pulled away from him and he let it happen. Thinking she needed space and would come back on her own terms.

That isn't what happened. She was forced back to him because of threats to her life and he was done being separated from her.

Bea is a lawyer and was helping Knox with a family problem that ended in her being targeted. She was told to stay away from Knox or he would die. She tried to be strong for so long but at some point she had to admit she needed help.

I enjoyed the writing style and story. I gave this 3 stars because I didn't like the romance. I didn't feel like Knox and Bea meshed well at all. Sure they got along but I didn't see the connection like Keaton and Tilly's. Other than the the story is intriguing! There are more questions coming about and I can't wait for the answers. Though one of my theories has been proven correct.

I can't wait for Kipling and Alyssa. Cause let's face it, they're meant for each other.

It's been awhile since I've binge read an author. But Tara Thomas has me hooked and I've read all of this series so far. I'm not patiently waiting for book 3! I am looking forward to finding out about The Gentleman - I have so many ideas darn it!

I don't want to give anything more away but to say the characters are fabulous, the suspense is gripping and carries over between books, While you can read out of order, you learn pieces that may help you later in each book.

Deadly Secret is filled with mystery and suspense, and both were well done. The characters were quite good, too, but there is something about the writing that made me not be completely wowed.

Deadly Secret is the second installment of the Sons of Broad Series. It picks up right where the last book left off and follows the story of Knox and Bea. Knox is a one of kind, stand-up guy. He's followed the rules his entire life. However, Knox has a secret. A secret that he would live and die for. He would do anything to protect his secret and just how far he would go is about to be tested....Bea and Knox were never supposed to be. They were rivals and fought each other at every turn. But somewhere along the way, their tension turned into an undeniable passion. Bea knew there would never be anyone else for her. When an investigation has an unexpected turn, Bea is forced to make a decision  she never thought she'd have to. Keeping her marriage a secret has never been more important....

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It started off with a bang like the novellas that I've read from this series and had me positively hooked. I was captivated and intrigued by Bea and Knox. I loved seeing the two of them together and could tell that their feelings for one another were genuine. Just like the previous books in this series, Deadly Secret is filled with mystery and suspense. Once again, "The Gentleman" is up to no good and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Deadly Secret was a terrific read from beginning to end. The characters were smart and full of intrigue. I loved the mystery, suspense and danger that surrounded the story. Add in some romance and some seriously steamy reads, and you've got the perfect recipe for a great afternoon read.

Deadly Secrets will keep you on the edge of your seat right until the very end and just when you think everything is all squared away, you'll be left with another cliffhanger that will have you begging to get the next book in your hands....

Deadly Secret, reads like a horror movie. Instead of covering my eyes, I covered my mouth to keep from gasping out loud.

Wow! Plenty of suspense, surprises, and sexy scenes. Bea is an attorney who was beaten and left on the Benedict’s porch. Knox is rich and he and Bea secretly got married. When Knox comes to the hospital, she tells him to leave she never wants to see him again. See while she was getting beat up, the man told her to stay away from Knox or he’d be killed. So to keep him safe she tells him she wants nothing to do with him. But she is still getting threatening notes and phone calls. She finally breaks down and tells Knox everything. He moves her to his house because it’s safer there. They are trying to figure out who wants to kill them and why. But the danger is closer than either thought.
Cliffhanger. Shocking surprises. Love. This will have you biting your nails and wonder what will happen next. I read this in one day.

Deadly Secret by Tara Thomas is an exciting romantic suspense read. I was instantly hooked. Her writing has me captivated. I am so ready for the next novel in this new series. Secrets, danger, and love are combined in a way that made me stay up all night to read this entire book. It is that good.

A family empire consisting of three sons are in grave danger. Someone went to great lengths to make their parents death look like  an accident. Then,  a family friend is excused of doing wrong...except that now, it is looking like that was false too. The brothers need to band together before the threats get worse. Their women have been targeted and the killer is still out there. But then, they find out more secrets and their lives just got more complex...

Bea is married to Knox. Their marriage was kept a secret. But now, they face an unknown danger from all sides. Someone wants to see Knox dead but not before he watches his wife suffer.

Deadly Secret is stunning. The characters all have their own flaws which makes them more likable. The risks they take only heighten the suspense. Tara Thomas definitely knows how to write well. Bringing heat, intrigue, and fear into one brilliant book.  Overall, I highly recommend this title.

Was she raped, poor thing?

Knox sounds like a nice person. And like someone who can take care of himself.

Who the heck is Jade?

Really, no one knows they're married? That's kind of depressing.

Geez, what a compassionate boss. Not.

That is so creepy.

Your house is on fire, you saw a man watching your house beforehand, but you don't tell your husband? Okay...

There's a cliffhanger ending. I guess none of the books in the series are standalone.
