Everyone keeps telling me that I have to read Becky Wade’s books. I have tried two of them before, but they were not my cup of tea. A couple of years have passed and after hearing so much good things about Falling for You, I decided to try this one, but . . . I didn’t like Willow from the start and that didn’t change the further I read. Her thoughts drove me mad. I think Charlotte was the cutest character in the story. Corbin was ok, but not my kind of hero. I know the author has many fans and I’m glad she has a big reading audience that loves her books, but I’m not one of them – mainly because I don’t like her characters, but her writing style is good.

When an ex-football player and a model on vacation team up with a 12-year-old to discover what happened to a 40-year-old missing persons case, anything is bound to happen in this second installment of the Bradford Sisters series. A wonderful series when read in order or as a standalone novel. Check out my full review with RT Book Reviews!

Becky Wade took a huge leap of faith in the first book of The Bradford Sisters series. She took her expertly crafted romantic side and merged it with a new mysterious side. In between she sandwiched some of the best and most realistic characters I've met in some time.

And she's done it again with "Falling For You", and I enjoyed this book twice as much as her first. Considering how much I loved "True To You", that's saying something!

Wade has mastered the genre of romantic suspense and done it her own way: heavy on the romance, mildly suspenseful, and liberally sprinkled with faith and fun.

I adore the Bradford sisters, and I can hardly wait to see Britt finally realize. . .oops, almost wrote a spoiler!

True to You by Becky Wade was one of my favourite reads of 2017. It was a contemporary Christian romance about a librarian who dabbled in family history research, so how could I not love it? The heroine of True to You was Nora, one of the three Bradford sisters—a librarian, a pastry chef, and a famous model. It was pretty obvious the series was going to give us stories for each sister.

After reading True to You, I was keen to read the other two stories. Falling for You is the second novel in the series, and it’s the story of the internationally famous model and the retired football star.

Injury has forced Corbin Stewart to retire from football. He’s bought a house in Shore Pine, Washington, to be near his only remaining family. What he didn’t know was that it also put him near ex-girlfriend Willow Bradford, now on a sabbatical from modelling, living in nearby Merryweather and managing her family B&B.

Charlotte Dixon, Corbin’s twelve-year-old niece, has discovered a family secret. She’s convinced Willow Bradford will help her uncover the mystery behind the secret, and convinces Corbin to introduce her to Willow. Willow agrees to help, even though helping will bring her into too much contact with ex-boyfriend Corbin. Who is still devastatingly attractive, despite the way he broke up with her four years ago.

Falling for You follows the same pattern as True to You and the free prequel novella, Then Came You. It intersperses the present-day story with letters, emails, and text messages from the past and present. It’s a novel (!) way to tell a story, and it works as we see the past and present stories of Willow, Corbin, and others.

And it’s a strong story. It’s the romance of two people who messed up years ago, and have to work out if there’s a way through that mess to find happiness. Part of that mess was because while Willow is and always has been a strong Christian, Corbin called himself a Christian but didn’t live the life (football star, remember?). He’s now become a Christian, but finding life hard.

Willow has her own problems with faith, and they are so deep-seated it actually takes her a while to realise they even exist. This, to me, was the depth in the book—Willow coming to terms with her past choices, and what that means for her faith. And there was a fascinating suspense plot around Charlotte’s secret.

I loved True to You because I related to Nora, the librarian. She’s bookish, and that meant I could relate to her in a way I can’t relate to an internationally famous model. But I could still relate to Willow as a woman who has made mistakes, who has to learn what forgiveness really means.

Falling for You is a touching tale of love lost and love found again, underpinned by an intriguing mystery, and the power of God to forgive.

Now I’m looking forward to the third book in the Bradford Sisters series, the story of the pastry chef who doesn’t realise her best friend of forever is in love with her (and has been forever). He knows it. I know it. Her sisters know it. But she doesn’t, and that’s a trope I love.

Falling for You, the second book in Becky Wade’s Bradford Sisters series, is a fantastic addition to the set! I’m going to be honest and say that I loved John and Nora so much in True to You that I didn’t know if I could possibly fall in love with Willow and Corbin as much as I did John and Nora, but Willow and Corbin did indeed succeed in making their own sweet little place in my heart.

Willow
Willow is wonderful. 🙂 I love her character, from her good qualities down to her faults, from her rule making and rule following self down to her housewares shopping addiction. Willow doesn’t just follow the rules, she makes the rules for her own peace, sanity, and safety, at least in her mind. It’s how she copes, how she’s dealt with the blows life has landed. Her goodness, her rules are her protection until they aren’t anymore. You can feel the chains of being good that bind Willow. So many of us know that battle of holding yourself to certain standards, of always having a guard up. We can understand trying to be the good girl, trying not to mess up, trying to make sure no one has a reason to be upset with us.

Ms. Wade weaves the theme of forgiveness into Willow’s story, not only forgiving others, but also herself. Because of the standards and rules Willow has set for herself, it’s so very hard for her to truly forgive herself when she realizes just how susceptible she really is to falling. It’s also not easy for her to forgive others, one hunky and maybe a bit cocky man in particular. She is unyielding, at first, in her unforgiveness, using it as a cloak of protection, as a reminder not to trust, not to go there.

I believe Willow’s story has the power to speak to anyone who’s had their own battle with perfectionism, with self-righteousness, with feeling the need to “be good” and prove yourself, or with the struggle to forgive.

Corbin
Corbin, Corbin, Corbin. Sigh. 🙂 If Willow is the straitlaced heroine of the story, Corbin is the mischievous yet lovable hero! He is the rule breaker to every one of her made up rules and it is simply fantastic watching him push her buttons. But he doesn’t just push her buttons. Over the course of the book, Corbin proves himself to be trustworthy to a skittish Willow, making himself so very swoon worthy during the process. I mean who doesn’t love watching a determined hero like Corbin Stewart work to get his woman back?

That’s not all there is to Corbin’s story though. He’s new at this whole being a Christ follower thing and he has his own battles to face. His story will speak to anyone who’s ever doubted whether God is really there and if He’s really working on them, making them different than they used to be.

Corbin and Willow Together
If Corbin and Willow are charming characters by themselves, then they are captivating fireworks when put together. There’s no question that they have some serious chemistry, making sparks fly when they’re together. The tension between them, the witty banter, Corbin’s hilarious schemes to get Willow’s attention mixed with tender moments and the the heart-rending honesty needed with themselves and each other make for one spellbinding story. The dynamic of Mr. Rule Breaker going after Miss Rule Follower is perfect.

The Rest of the Story
I am not always a fan of second chance romance stories, but this one is very well done. More often than not I just don’t buy the reasons for the break up and it usually feels like so much time was wasted while they were separated when they could have been together. I don’t usually feel very satisfied at the end of stories like those. With Falling for You, for once, I don’t feel like the time apart was wasted. You can truly see God’s hand in the wait, in the in between time. You can see God really being at work, working some things out that needed to be worked out. It was truly a satisfactory story and ending. God didn’t waste a second of the wait, bringing them both to a place where they were really ready to love and forgive and be open with each other.

Extras
A few more things that deserve a mention! Once again, Ms. Wade intersperses letters, emails, texts, journal entries. etc. throughout the book and I love the way those little interchanges add to both the fun and the beauty of the story. I must also mention the relationship and dynamic between the Bradford sisters. I love their humor, their loyalty to each other, and their love for one another. There is, without a doubt, some serious stage setting for Britt and Zander’s story, and I can’t wait to see the rest of it play out in the next book! And last, but not least, I can’t not mention the impish Charlotte and the mystery she introduces to the book. I love Charlotte’s character and the role she plays in throwing Corbin and Willow together.

I loved the witty, and sometimes snarky, back and forth of this story. I loved observing the softening of Willow’s heart. I loved seeing Corbin becoming the hero he is meant to be. And I believe you will, too!

This was my favorite Becky Wade book so far and that is a big statement for me because I have loved everything of hers I have read, and that would be five previous books and three novellas.

There’s something about this one that takes he writing to a new level. Perhaps it’s the way the love blossoms so slowly and tenderly, or the way the minor plot lines weave into the main story, maybe it’s the solid presentation of scripture and it’s relevance in the character’s lives.

Regardless d the reason this is an excellent book with a wonderful. Mix of light and shade. Loved every page.

With Willow Bradford and Corbin Stewart, Becky Wade has created a chemistry that brings to life the inexplicable attraction that sends your heart pattering and your thoughts swirling.

By drawing the reader into the characters' imperfect lives, broken hearts, and stubborn souls, the author has made an international model and a superstar professional quarterback relatable - and that, in itself, is a hallmark of good writing.

The dialogue is smart and wry, and Falling for You is the kind of book I don't want to end (except then I'd never get to read Britt and Zander's story, which I'm eagerly awaiting).

The references to the Sinner's Prayer don't resonate with me, but the portrayal of God's steadfast love and forgiveness were well done. Corbin's attempts to share his newfound faith with his dad were both real and humorous.

Sizzling romance, heart-wrenching loss, and a faith theme woven throughout the story make Falling for You a stand-out Christian romance.A touch of mystery and epistolary chapter endings only add to the reading pleasure.

Becky Wade...THANK YOU for being an author!! Seriously, I have read all of Becky Wade's books and I have yet to feel even a hint of disappointment...except when I'm done...because I didn't want it to end. Falling for You is the second book in the "A Bradford Sister's Romance" series. Don't you just love this cover?! You could actually read them as stand alones, but they're even better read together. This story focuses on Willow Bradford and her ex, Corbin Stewart, and how they work through their past so they can have peace in the present.

This story has so many layers to it. Complex, yet not hard to read. The flow of the story is great...not too fast that you feel like you've lost some of the details and connection and not too slow that you feel bored. Corbin and Willow have a strong personal connection that was severed by a painful breakup, but have been reconnected by Corbin's niece who wants to solve the mystery of her long lost aunt. As the three work together on the mystery, which was an interesting part of the plot, Corbin and Willow have to face what happened in their relationship. I LOVE how the author kept what happened in their relationship SO REAL! Couples really do face temptations and struggles in real life, especially when one person in the relationship is a Christian and another is not. Consequences, forgiveness, peace, and not becoming a victim of your past were all explored in this book, through the truth of God's Word and who He is. So well done! And, of course, the romantic tension was great ; ).

Personal Takeaway...It's never too late for God to redeem your story!

Basically...put this book, and all of Becky Wade's other books, on your To Be Read list! : )

Becky Wade wows me again, I love her series, this book did not disappoint. Continuing the stories of the Bradford sisters, Falling for You dives deeper into the life of Willow who we met in True to You. The character development you see throughout the series is something that I love and I enjoyed getting to know Willow and her story better.

The book was a delightful read but I found it started slow, it did increase it's pace eventually but I struggled to get into it.
The characters were well developed and I enjoyed reading their stories. All in all it was a good book just not one I would want to read again.

Becky Wade is one of my favorite authors and I get so excited when I get to read a new book by her. This series is so fun because these sisters couldn't be more different but they are so good to each other. They know how to rally and support and love each other well.

This book had me so curious! What exactly happened between Willow and Corbin? Why was there such animosity between them? Even for all that residual anger and frustration (or maybe because of it!) the attraction and chemistry between Willow and Corbin was fantastic. I could literally feel it. There was a steady build of information and insight that kept me invested and interested from the first page until the end. It was so, so good. I just loved Corbin- his sense of humor, his determination, his kindness.

There was a bit of a mystery being solved in this book as well. It was light and fun and kept an added element of intrigue to the story.

AND now I am completely wanting the next book because ooh, it's going to be good! The bits in this book about the next sister had me almost drooling with anticipation.

Content: some references to intimate relations before marriage with no details, kissing, mention of mental disorder, Christian elements

Argh! You’ve done it again, Magoo [read: Becky]! You made me fall in love with these characters and their stories. Even crusty old Joe stole my heart. The love story, the mystery of the missing persons cold case, the reconciliation theme, the Bradford family.... Each piece just drew me in and made me want to visit Shore Pine and the Inn at Bradfordwood. Walk the forest trail to the inlet with Corbin and Willow. Stop by Nora’s historical village to catch up (she was my absolute FAVORITE book character last year). Try Britt’s chocolate confections - and gently knock some sense into her about Zander. Ask Charlotte for some random whale trivia. I can’t wait to see the Bradfords again with Britt’s story!!

P.S. Is there any chance that book 3 includes Corbin and Willow’s wedding, where fellow Mustang Gray and his lady love, Dru Porter, might make an appearance? I’m in Porter family withdrawal.

I've read this series from the start and was so excited to read Willow's story. She's the oldest sister--the mother, of sorts--and she has been a world renowned model. How fascinating is she?! Everyone has a story to tell and Willow's is tender, heart-breaking, and full of hope.

When approached by a young girl to help solve a family mystery, Willow finds herself face-to-face with the one she thought was the love of her life. In a slow, graceful, and swoon-worthy progression, Willow and Corbin face their past and their future. I love how emotions and the resolution of past feelings graduation develop and come to be. It's solid and believable and let me just say, I fell for Corbin because of his obvious regret, deep passion, and persistent patience.

The mystery isn't overwhelming, but a thread to bind the romance, friendship, forgiveness, and hope together. I love that this author is able to tie everything together in a way that is equally balanced.

Becky Wade writes in a way that draws a reader in, causing hope to surface, and tender love to arise. I felt like an honorary character and enjoyed being a part of this family so much. I love that this story isn't one dimensional--there are so many facets that meld together in a satisfying read that will twist your heart.

Content: mild, swoony romance; some innuendo, talk of past, intimate relationships (with no graphic details); moderate Christian/religious elements; mild violence

*I received a copy, which did not affect my opinions. They are all my own.*

In this sequel to True To You which I reviewed last year, Willow Bradford must face her past when her ex-boyfriend shows back up in her life. Corbin Stewart is cajoled to recruit Willow as an investigator into a family mystery by his almost-niece, Charlotte. The three of them team up to figure out what happened in Charlotte's family.

Willow and Corbin are a study in opposites. Willow is a rule-following people-pleaser. Corbin is used to charming his way into getting what he wants with no care for the rules. The sparks between the two are hot, but their past still haunts them.

I loved this book. The characters were charming and endearing. I love that this series continues from book to book, though each can be read alone. It was fun to read as the characters grew and changed in their relationships to God, others and themselves.

I definitely recommend this book.

A free copy of the book was provided to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I really did like this book.

If you enjoy witty repartee, you’re going to love Willow Bradford and Corbin Stewart. They’re like a modern-day Beatrice and Benedick (Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing)—they have a history, a healthy disdain for one another, and a wit that’s determined to have the last word. And boy does that make for an entertaining read as Corbin’s scorn softens to deliberate provocation and then determined flirtation! I also happen to love a guy who pursues his woman with single-minded purpose and a gleam in his eye. Is it any wonder I enjoyed this story as much as I did?

Willow and Corbin have twelve-year-old Charlotte Dixon to thank for bringing them back together. Charlotte is the daughter of Corbin’s cousin, and when she discovers evidence that her grandmother had an older sister who went missing forty years ago, she convinces Willow and Corbin to help her find out what happened. And that’s another thing I’m really enjoying about this series: the ‘mystery’ that brings the characters together. For John and Nora (True to You) it was the search for John’s biological mother. In this book, we have a cold-case investigation conducted by a model, a former NFL quarterback, and a seventh grader. Unconventional? Yes. Believable? In this case, also yes!

But for all the banter between them, Corbin and Willow’s previous relationship has left its mark on Willow in particular. I won’t spoil anything here, but I could definitely identify with Willow’s struggle to open herself to a relationship with Corbin again. Not only was her struggle authentic, but so was the way in which those issues were confronted and worked through. As much as I loved Becky Wade’s previous series with the Porter family, I really feel as though both her story crafting and her writing in general are maturing through this series, giving even more depth and colour to her romances.

All that makes me super impatient to get my hands on Britt and Zander’s story!

Falling for You by Becky Wade. This is the second book in the series. I loved Nora’s story so much I wasn’t sure how Becky was going to follow that one. This one is about the sister, Willow who was the model. She had dated famous NFL player Corbin and they had an ugly public break up. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Corbin when I started finding out how they broke up. But I absolutely loved how he was intent on winning her back and how they both realized the mistakes they had made in the process. Charlotte, Corbin‘s cousin was absolutely adorable. I love her character, her dialogue and her strength in wanting to find who what happened to Josephine. Josephine would’ve been her great aunt and had went missing. She had grown up thinking that she died in a car wreck. She was able to convince both Corbin and Willow to help her try to find her. Willow and Corbin think there’s probably no chance after 20 years, in finding any clues however they were wrong. This is one of those books that I stayed up till 1130 on a work night because I just had to finish it. They’re may have been a few tears in my eyes when I did. Becky has the ability to create a character like Willow who is beautiful and rich but make her very human. Well except for she can eat anything she wants. The scenes with her and her sisters were very endearing. I loved that they had such a great relationship and we’re always there for each other. Becky also did a great job of setting up of the scene for the last book in the series with Brett and Zander. I would highly recommend this story and any of Becky’s books. I’ve never been disappointed.

This is the second installment of Becky Wade’s A Bradford Sisters Romance. I liked the first book very much, so I had really high hopes for this one. It was good but not as good as True to You. My sister, who has read all of Wade’s books, told me that this was a more typical type of story that Wade writes. This book follows Willow and Corbin. Willow is Nora’s sister (Nora is the main character from True to You). This book is filled with a little more drama, compared to the first book, because Corbin and Willow have a history together, but you don’t find out until quite far in the book. My favorite quote in the book was this, “Her sisters were inextricably linked to her. Their histories were intertwined more tightly than any braid.” Like the main character, I have sisters (three of them) and we are really close, so I like seeing that in books. Sisters always (well most of the time) understand each other.

I did not mind this book but I personally did not feel like I got attached to the main characters. For any of Wade’s fans I think you will enjoy this brand new book. Those who enjoyed her first book in this series, I think might like it. To those who are intrigued with this book, I recommend that you read the first book before this one.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I am hoping there will be a certain wedding, Hint, Hint, Nora and John’s wedding.

Before, I end this review I have to say that whoever did the covers of the two books in this series did an excellent job. I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with for the next book.

I anticipated this book for a long time. Becky Wade has a way with words, and I love every character she writes. Falling For You is the second full novel in the Bradford Sisters series. We first met Willow in Then Came You, a Novella that stars in the very beginning. I got to know her better in True to You, in which her sister Nora finds love. Thus my barely contained excitement when I got my hands on this book. Wade did not disappoint. While reading I was taken through so many emotions; hope, joy, sadness, excitement, nervousness, and relief. Of course those are only a few of them, but you get my point. I loved being along for the journey as both Willow and Corbin discovered how to let go of the past and forgive not only each other, but themselves as well. It will come as no surprise to you that I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series. They are all must read, and have a spot on my read again shelf. I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Falling for You by Becky Wade is a cute love story that also brings a hidden mystery. Willow, a successful model and Corbin, a famous NFL player who were once in love and broke up meet again through Charlotte who is determined to find her missing great-aunt from nearly 40 years. Willow and Corbin while helping Charlotte fall for each other all over again. Nora and Britt, Willow's sisters, are super cool. Joe, Corbin's father, is a completely another story. This is a story about love, guilt, heartbreak, misunderstandings, forgiving and rebuilding relationships. It is very well written. Almost all the characters are very strong, from the 12-year old Charlotte to 60-year old Josephine, everyone is determined. The story taught me to forgive and let go rather than holding on to past and hatred. The pace is perfect. I could not put it down till I read the last page. The people of Merryweather are amazing. The love for each other, the family bonding, and the support they show for their loved ones in the times of trial is narrated very well by the author. The characters brought warmth to my heart and I enjoyed the book thoroughly.
All in all, love, patience, forgiving always bring the fruit in the right time.

Emotional, romantic and so very enjoyable! I couldn’t wait to find out Willow and Corbin’s story after getting a tiny glimpse of it in the previous book. I was intrigued to find out what had broken them up, that intrigue continued quite a bit into this book. Readers do not find out the cause until well into the story, but by this point I was intrigued with more than just their back story. I wanted to know where the missing person search would lead them and wanted to keep reading to find out if they found some answers.

Charlotte asks Corbin to ask Willow to help her search for her missing aunt, but neither Corbin nor Willow want to get involved for various reasons but the main one for Willow is that she would have to interact with Corbin. But she agrees to help Charlotte and this changes her in ways she hadn’t imagined. Not only does she have to interact with Corbin much more than she wanted to, but the things they uncover in this search are disturbing. Will the search provide Charlotte’s family with answers after such a long time of not knowing what happened?

I loved Charlotte, she had some great lines that made me smirk. Corbin was entertaining and I loved his determination, he is a fighter. He broke all her rules on purpose, but it was never in a bad way. Rather the way he did it was amusing and made him enduring. The circumstances Corbin and his father were enduring were difficult; it is so hard to watch a family member suffer with cancer. I could feel Corbin’s pain and hurt for him. The one thing that really frustrated me was the promise that Cobin’s dad asked Willow to make. It broke my heart. Thankfully things work out (in believable way).

Faith, overcoming guilt and learning to forgive are subjects that are significantly discussed, but it never felt out of place in the story, but rather they were weaved smoothly into the story. In true Ms. Wade fashion readers are given a little peak into Britt’s life and her romantic possibilities which has now left to patiently wait for the next book to see if what I want to happen is going to happen.
