there are quite a few characters in this book to get your head around but then again this is about a private investigator and her clients

jessie cole is that p.i and along with her niece and dog and a girl named zee this is the main team...and what they get up is just normal run of the mill stuff...apart from zee who has a condition with multiple personalities, that can get her into all sorts of trouble...and boy can she find trouble.....

jessie is hired to find a baby that went missing 7 years ago...and then finds out that she is being followed, she is also then hired to find a missing girl whose father is head of a company that has changed its policies about who can and cant have their drugs, this story is also about health insurance in america...

so can jessie and her motley crew find the missing baby/young girl...before the person who is following her tries to do more than just follow them around and then can she then find the young woman who has been kidnapped before another video is then sent of her death to the papers..

all adds to an amazing conclusion that leaves you wanting the next book in this series

T. R. Ragan does a fantastic job with character development. I cannot stress enough how well I feel I know these characters and am completely hooked reading about their lives. Zee, what a great addition to this series, I LOVE her! She visits Jessie and asks for a job at her PI firm. On her meds and convincing Jessie she is fine and no longer hearing the pesky voices of Francis, Lucy and Marion, Jessie hires her on. She definitely keeps things interesting and amusing!

I definitely recommend starting with the first in this series, "Her Last Day" which was also excellent. The plot thickens and more light is shed on Ben in his book! How intriguing is his story line?! Could he actually be a serial killer? A justice vigilante? Cannot wait to delve more into his story. He is starting to have flashbacks which leads all of us questioning just exactly who he was before his accident. I personally am ok if he ends up previously being a killer, how intriguing is that? Come on!!!

There are several plot lines running in this book, just as the first that kept me engaged from the beginning until the very end. I flew through this book and read it in one day. I was sad to have finished it but will eagerly be waiting for the next in this series! I cannot wait to see what this author has in store! 5 full stars!

This was a fast paced, well written book. PI Jessie Cole has been asked to help find the missing daughter of the CEO of a large health insurance company. The kidnapper, a man who blames the CEO for the death of his own child, has contacted crime report Ben Morrison to publicize his demands. Jessie and Ben have worked together before, and they join forces to try to find the kidnap victim before it's too late. Ben is also troubled by trying to rediscover who he was before losing his memories in a car crash. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

I did like this book but it had a lot of different story lines going at the same time. The chapters would flip from one character to another so it was kinda choppy. I will be watching for the next book in this series as It left you hanging at the end and I want to know what happens.

I thoroughly enjoy Ragan's new series, and this definitely did not disappoint. I cannot wait for the next installment, because I feel deeply invested in Ben Morrison finding out about his past. In this novel, a man' daughter has died because the insurance company would not pay for her experimental drugs, so he decides to kill innocent people if he cannot get an apology from the CEO, as well as a guarantee that all experimental drugs will be covered. Jessie is tasked with finding the missing girl that this grieving father has kidnapped, and also trying to help Ben discover who he really is. A quick, satisfying read.

Deadly Recall was a thrilling read with an engaging plot and amazing characters.

For PI Jessie Cole there's nothing more rewarding than searching for the missing and she's got more cases than she can keep up with these days. A grieving mother seeks out Jessie to find out what happened to her daughter who was kidnapped on the night she was born seven years ago. Then the daughter of the CEO of a health insurance company is kidnapped by a man who blames the company for his daughter's death and has killed two of its' employees so far. Meanwhile crime reporter Ben Morrison is still looking to connect the dots of his forgotten past and enlists Jessie's help to find out who he was before the accident that stole his memories.

Jessie has spent the three months since her sister's remains were recovered in the first book learning how to accept what happened, work through her grief, and move on. She continues to focus a lot of her energy into her work and at times lets it eclipse everything else. I liked how dedicated she was and it was relatable as someone who has a tendency to focus too much on work. Jessie continues to worry about her niece and how she's handling everything. I appreciated that Jessie was shown to not always have the answers when it comes to her personal life.

Ben has been experiencing a number of flashbacks about grisly scenes since first seeing Sophie Cole's photo on a cold case TV show three months ago. He is becoming increasingly worried about the past he can't remember and has a hard time accepting others' explanations that he must be remembering crimes he covered at work. There were a few revelations about Ben that surprised me and I'm curious to see where his character is headed in future books.

The character I was very happy to see return from Her Last Day was Zee, a young woman with schizophrenia that Jessie helped rescue from a serial killer in the first book. Zee returns in this book to come work for Jessie as an assistant at her private investigator's office. Zee is such an interesting young woman and she brought some much needed levity to the scenes in which she appeared. Olivia, Jessie's fifteen year old niece, returns and it's clear she's struggling a bit with her feelings over her mother's remains being found in the first book. I liked her relationship with Jessie as it was realistic for a teenager and I enjoyed the friendship she sparks with Zee. I was happy to see the return of Higgins, the adorable dog Olivia rescues in Her Last Day. Colin, Jessie's sort of boyfriend and a detective, returns which was nice to see as I'm rooting for their relationship.

There are four major plot points in this book much like the first book had. They are, the kidnapped baby, the avenging father going after the CEO of DHI, Ben looking into his past, and the job Jessie assigns to Zee. It was neat watching Jessie have to juggle all the different cases and deciding which she would focus on. I think the author did a great job giving each enough page time without the book feeling overwhelmed. Each storyline had moments that surprised me and I ultimately liked how each of them turned out. My favorite plot was the one involving Zee conducting surveillance as you just never know what she'll get into.

Deadly Recall has cemented the Jessie Cole series as one packed full of intriguing plots with fascinating characters. I'm looking forward to future books in the series and would definitely recommend the series for anyone looking for thrillers with a strong female lead.

Oh boy...

I gotta say I’m worried about Ben.

This series has strong quirky characters that really draw you in.

Another great mystery where PI Jessie Cole has a lot on her plate. I will say it would be nice if the romance aspect was a bit faster. I like Colin. But I understand the flow of it.

And then there’s Ben...his flashbacks, his family, his fear. I can’t wait to see what happens. I hope the author doesn’t crush my fondness for him.

Jessie is asked by Ashley Bale to discover what happened to her daughter Dakota who was abducted not long after being born seven years ago. Jessie is also contacted by Owen Shepard CEO of the health insurance company DHI following the murder of two employees, after which Owen’s daughter Emily is then kidnapped. Meanwhile, Ben Morrison who works as a crime reporter for the Sacramento Tribune and has worked with Jessie in the past, requests her help. Following a car accident some years ago Ben has suffered from amnesia and gets flashbacks but he’s desperate to find out about his past and who he really is.
For those who haven’t read the first Jessie Cole novel ‘Her Last Day’, T R Ragan gives an update into what has happened previously. This does help refresh the memory but isn’t essential as it can be read without any prior details.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading more of Jessie, her niece Olivia and new employee Zee. ‘Deadly Recall’ is every bit as thrilling as the previous novel, gripping, dramatic and with lots of action. The conclusion is riveting as once again Jessie faces danger. We now need a third novel to tie up any loose ends which I’m really looking forward to.

If you are looking for a captivating read that's action packed, even paced and one that'll break you heart then I'd recommend this book. You've got Jessie who specializes in finding the missing. She's so good at what she does that when someone threatens a top official at DHI about an experimental drug and how he lost his daughter, the official goes in search for Jessie. The race against time begins and you cannot help but wonder who'll come out whole at the end of the story.
I loved how the author factored in Jessie's own experience with her missing sister and brought about the connection with Ben, the Crime reporter. In doing so, you see that she's got her own issues to deal with and this gives you a different look to her as an investigator.
Can I just say that I wasn't for the ending? I got there and was like where's the unraveling? I guess there's the next book that sheds a light on the mystery that's Ben's past. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. To the publishers, hey...keep the cover, I love it!

Jessie is a cold case missing person specialist so is happy to take the case of Dakota Bale who was snatched from hospital shortly after her birth seven years ago. In the meantime Ben receives a letter from MAH stating that if DHI, a medical insurance company, does not publish an apology for refusing to pay for experimental drugs and amend their policy innocent people will die. If that is not enough he is starting to have flashbacks to his pre-amnesia days and doesn't like what he's seeing so he asks Jessie to look into his past.

I thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Recall. It is a straightforward read and not particularly profound but it is compelling, thanks mainly to good plotting and characterisation. The various plotlines held my interest throughout with their ingenious twists and turns and timely reveals, especially Ben's story. He lost all memory of his previous life 10 years ago in a car crash but recently some unpleasant images are coming back - are they memories or imaginings? He doesn't know but fears the worst. It will be very interesting, given the revelations in this novel, to see where Ms Ragan takes his character.

As I said it is not a particularly profound novel as the answers come easily to Jessie, mostly she asks and is told but the intricacies of the plot are sufficient that the reader too wants these answers quickly to see what is coming next. It is also an extremely readable novel with an inviting and intimate style of writing.

While Ben has his dark side Jessie is a "lighter" personality. She is hardworking, dedicated and a bit of a worrier, especially about her parenting of niece Olivia. She needs some fun in her life and that may come in the form of schizophrenic new assistant, Zee Gatley, whose escapades may give Jessie a heart attack but certainly inject some light humour into proceedings.

Deadly Recall is a good read which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Another great read by T.R. Ragan. Can't wait to read the next one in this series.

T.R. Ragan is an auto-buy author for me. I have never been disappointed with her work. Consistently thrilling and entertaining, Jessie Cole is a loveable and flawed character. I didn't find Zee nearly and interesting as "sidekicks" in the Lizzy Gardner or Faith McMann series, but that is a small complaint.

If I could give this book/series more stars I would !!! I love a book with suspense and a great female lead character. Jessie is at it again investigating more cases. This one is closer to home Ben wants to know about his past and asks Jessie for help but will he regret knowing who he was before? and what happened to Dakota Bale this case will shock you! and yet Jessie still helps with another case ! Many numerous story lines which I loved this book definitely keeps you on your toes and you can' t help but want to stay up all night finishing. I look forward to the next in the series. If you haven't read any books by T.R. Ragan then your missing out. I have nothing but positive reviews for all her books. Suspense and intrigue at it's best!

A must read! This book was fantastic I lapped up every page not wanting to put the book down. It was an exciting read full of action with moments of darkness. This is a great series and I cant wait for the next iinstallment. An excellent 5 star read.

So much excitement. Family lies and deceit. Father giving up on life. Killing, kidnapping and a love growing. This book is so amazing like fireworks on the 4th of July. One of the best books of 2018!

Deadly Recall is the second outstanding book in the Jessie Cole series written by author T. R. Ragan. I highly recommend anything written by this author. I also recommend reading the books in order. Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for the advance copy.

The plot thickens in this second book in the Jessie Cole series. So many different threads going at the same time with multiple characters and they all work together like a well oiled machine.

First up Jessie has been asked by a mother to find her daughter who was kidnapped from the hospital right after she was born 7 years ago.

Then Ben has two things fall into his lap. First is Ben is sent a letter at the newspaper from a grieving father telling him that if he doesn't get an apology from the CEO of the health insurance company that denied his daughter medication that could have saved her life people are going to pay. Second is the bones of what turn out to be a killer from many years are found and this triggers some disturbing flashbacks for Ben.

There is a lot of dark aspects in this series but it also incorporates just the right amount of humor too and that came from a surprising source. One of the victims in the last book was schizophrenic named Zee Gatley. After her ordeal and getting back on her meds she has decided she wants to live as normal as a life as she can – so she goes to Jessie and asks for a job at her PI firm. Zee and the voices in her head get into some hairy, yet funny situations and you can help but root for her..

Along with the cases Jessie and Ben are working on we finally get a better glimpse into Ben's childhood and it is so ugly. Ben has slowly been mentally coming apart with flashbacks which is putting a strain on his marriage. I have no idea where the author is planning to go with Ben but I can see its going to be a disturbing ride that I am apprehensive on what we are going to find at the end of it.

This is an addicting series with strong characters. The cases are always both fascinating and disturbing. I cannot wait to see what's next.

This is second in a series that features Private Investigator Jessie Cole and crime reporter Ben Morrison. Although second, this can easily be read as a stand alone. There's just enough information so that the reader is not totally lost, but not enough to ruin the reading of HER LAST DAY, book 1. As always, I highly recommend reading these books in order.

Jessie Cole specializes in looking for the missing. A potential client contacts her to ask for an investigation into her daughter's abduction. Her daughter was a newborn infant and she's been gone for 7 years. This new case will test Jessie and Ben to the limits. And they might not like what they find.

Meanwhile, a man blames Owen Shepard for his daughter's death. Owen is head of one of the largest health insurance companies. When the company refused the use of an experimental drug, something seemed to snap. The man has written a letter, sent it to Ben. The letter states he wants an apology and his word that all experimental drugs will be approved for use. If his demands are not met, innocent people will die.

The man means it with everything he has. Two bodies are found murdered .. but Owen doesn't respond ... until "his" daughter goes missing.

Ben lost his memory in the wake of a car accident. It's been 12 years and he doesn't remember anything before that time. But he's having visions or hallucinations or his memory is coming back. But he's seeing himself at crime scenes. Are these scenes he's followed in his career ... or is he a killer? Ben wants to know and Jessie starts looking into his background.

Sometimes the truth can hurt ....

I really like this author's style of writing. The plot is thought out and put together in details that are easy to follow. The suspense starts on the first page and maintains until the very surprising ending. Her characters are stand-outs. They are flawed, but it only makes them stronger and very interesting to follow.

This author has written two previous series which I have had the honor of reading. She has never disappointed me and I always look forward to her new books. Warning: there is a small cliffhanger, which has only whet my appetite for the next in this series ... DERANGED which will be available October 2018.
