A gripping read full of action, suspense, mystery, and intrigue! The plot is realistic and a bit frightening, it will have you thinking and questioning.... what if? The dashes of history add to the story and the mystique. Compelling characters and relationships make this book! Reminiscent of Dan Brown, this thrilling, fast-paced story will keep you on the edge of your seat and awake all night.

Catherine Coulter fans will be happy with this latest installment in the Brit in the FBI series. It follows the same formula as past books in the series but seems to be getting a little stagnant.

In this fifth book of the series we find Nicholas and Mike in London enjoying some much needed time off after their last escapade with some not so nice people. Mike seems to be recovering well and Nicholas is happy to spend some time with his grandfather helping him figure out some hacking problems his company is having. When dignitaries start dying Nicholas and Mike are called in to help figure out who is doing it, what is actually killing them, and why are they being murdered . They were notified that there was a drone seen in the area of one of the deaths which has them wondering what if anything it had to do with the incident. You are instantly pulled in as the duo faces a mad man who thinks he was descended from Vlad the Impaler and come up against some wonderfully inventive high tech gadgets that are truly relevant to this day and age. The authors delivered a fast paced read filled with lots of mystery and tons of intrigue. The plot they weaved was well written and felt like one person actually wrote it. If you haven't picked up this book yet you should, it's truly worth the time. I'm excited to see what Nicholas and Mike come up against next, I can't imagine it but I know the authors can and won't disappoint!!!

The Sixth Day by Catherine Coulter and J T Ellison, book 5 in A Brit in the FBI series. I've read books by Catherine Coulter in the Savich & Sherlock series but this is the first one in the spinoff that I've read in this series. It took me awhile to get into the book but once I did I wasn't disappointed. It had everything you want in a thriller a complex storyline, good and bad characters. Catherine Coulter knows how to bring a story together. I look forward to read more in this series and more by both Catherine Coulter and J T Ellison.

I enjoyed this series, except book 4 (it was a little crazy), but this is more on track again. I could definitely see more of JT in this book and it seemed more balanced between the two authors. I have read both authors for years and can discern which author is writing which part. There were more egomanical criminals in this book, but they used a good idea to link hemophilia with different parts of history to which they added their fictional bent (I'm always in if there is a reference to Vlad). It was an interesting way to tie that history together with their story of twisted twins that want to save the world from terrorists while murdering people along the way and the Voynich manuscript. The drones, however, were scary! That was a very plausible circumstance in general that could be on the world's doorstep at some point. I do wish we could get just a bit more romance between Mike and Nicholas, although it is clear they are together and care about each other, there just isn't much of anything. I understand these characters are always very busy in these books, but Catherine puts more romance in her FBI books and JT always had more romance in her books, so what's up with that? I'm not looking for a great deal, just some.

This book combines suspense, intrigue, history, ancient evil and modern hacking to tell a story that is totally engrossing for page after page. It contains a number of unique and interesting ideas including the unique language of twins, the bond between strong and weak twins, the true story of Vlad Dracul and even Bram Stoker's inspiration for the vampire story that set the baseline. Add to this a criminal genius with a fleet of advanced drones and an army of trained raptors and you have a story that is heart-pounding and compelling. While this is a sequel, all that carries over from the original is the cast of characters. From tiny drones shooting poison darts to falcons dropping bombs, the action flows while all the communications and computers for the government are compromised. This book is scary on many levels!

Catherine Coulter hooked me years ago with her FBI series (love Savage and Sherlock!) but it’s been quite a while since I’ve read her books so I jumped at the chance to read an advance copy of this one when Gallery Books made it available on Net Galley. It was quite the thrill ride with gripping suspense, fascinating intrigue and complex drama. I always enjoy a book that has several plotlines running throughout, and the authors do a terrific job of weaving it all together perfectly. From centuries-old folklore to modern-day cyber security issues, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page until the last.

I’m always excited when a new book by Catherine Coulter is released. I really enjoy her FBI series. This series is a brick in the FBI which is written by Catherine Coulter and JT Ellison. It’s nice to see Nicholas Drummond and Michaels Caine back in action.
As always this is a complex thriller. They are dealing with hacking of computers at the highest level of government as well as the murder of several high officials. They are also dealing with the Voyanich manuscript which has a puzzle with unknown language and illustrations of plants and stars.
It is a compelling story in which the mystery is not solved till the end. Fascinating to see a thriller combine with the mystery of a mysterious transcript. They must all the transcript while they also find out who is responsible for assassinations. To find how it is all connected is fascinating and compelling. Once again we are given a fast-paced thriller that is hard to put down.

I found the story slow to start but it did pick up and keep me interested. It is a unique premise The bad guys are descendants of Vlad Dracul (Dracula). As with some of Coulter’s other works. We have couples working for each other. This just smacks of poor order and discipline, but I digress.
This story has drones, Dracula myth & legend, falcons, weapons, greed, and some hints of romance. Of course no one in these books ever gets a vacation.
We have a computer genius with an ailing twin and an enormous ego. This starts the story rolling after the prologue. So we discover why the Voynich queries are important, the greed with a few well-placed intelligence operatives, and high rollers that want to fund the fight against ISIS.

I like that there is so much going on in the story. The nefarious uses of back doors to codes, the video games sense of the drone operatives, high tech solutions for area defense, and loyalty even though it is misdirected. This is a high speed adventure junkies’ dream book.

This book does not disappoint if you like action adventure and thriller suspense rolled into one.

An enticing, complex enigma…

This is the fifth book in the A Brit in the FBI series that can be read as a stand-alone.

Take a real manuscript, a codex that is centuries old, that no one can decipher and from the creative license of two authors comes a fantastical tale of its beginnings and its possible meaning told between deadly, suspenseful occurrences in the present. Two members of the FBI Covert Eyes group, Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine are in England on vacation, the place they need to be for what is about to unfold, to chase the madness of an insidious genius. They’re unaware that a conspiracy born of good intentions was twisted by greed leading to betrayal and a lethal vengeance that’ll impact many nations.

These FBI agents are an involved couple who’ve worked together before, though one is an English transplant and the other is American. Running from one crisis to another, trying to get ahead of and thwart the actions of unknown perpetrators, they’ll have to figure out if the source of the diverse mayhem is the same person or connected parties. An enticing, complex enigma filled with assassinations, cybercrimes, drones, highly trained falcons, and special twins.

Reality seamlessly meshes with folklore and with fiction in this book. We’re given the history of a family, that of Vlad Dracul III also known as Vlad the Impaler, and the author inspired by the dark tale that was passed along about them through the years that he then romanticized. I loved the Bram Stoker cameo. This was the first book in this series that I have read and out of order with no issues for doing so. I’ll be reading the rest of the stories and look forward to what comes next from these ingenious writers.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the publisher via NetGalley.

Fast paced, will definitely get your blood pumping. I enjoy both authors and having them together is such a treat.
Scary! So much of what is happening is based on real possibilities in the technology world and that scares the beejus out of me, The story is softened just a tad by the people we have come to know and love in Covert Eyes. I highly recommend this book for a thrill ride, thought provoking read. I have read several books in this series, but I missed book 4. You can still read this as a stand alone.

A chilling look of what could really happen during a terrorist attack. Ellison and Coulter bring their Brit in the FBI series to a new level of insanity. A villain bent on revenge and obsession on healing a family member. The Sixth Day show a history of a mysterious 15th century book, and how obsession can take on several forms, and just how life a change so quickly.

British FBI agent Nicholas Drummond comes home for a visit with his healing partner Mike (Michaela) Caine. He fixes the ransomware attack on the family business. The two of them are called in to help with some high profile murders and on the way are attacked by a drone. Drummond meets up with old friends and they figure out that a drone was used to kill the victims. They call in help from the US and bring in another member of the Covert Eyes unit who is on vacation in London as well. As they get information about the victims they realize that they aren't as above board as they seem. Bringing in the head of the company that owns the software that was hacked for help, gives them the patch to fix the problem but keep his back door open so he can steal information. Wanting a secure way to communicate the team comes up with their own channels to do that. As the investigation progresses and more people are murdered it's revealed that all the victims seemed to be part of a Secret Pact to develop a drone army. Suspicion brings to form that Ardelean isn't who he seems to be. A corrupt consultant is found in MI6. Meanwhile a discovery is made at the British Museum that attracts undue attention. When Dr. Marin is kidnapped and her fiancé is murdered it's revealed that Ardelean is behind it. Going in to rescue the doctor lives are lost on both sides, causing Ardelean to go over the edge and plot a massive plan for revenge and to kill Drummond. A last minute change in a schedule brings about an attack on Parliament putting the Queen, President and Prime Minister in danger. Drummond & Caine come face to face with Ardelean and his birds and drones with the final showdown between Drummond and Ardelean. Special honors are given by the Queen and a few days are to be spent relaxing.

Coulter and Ellison need to write together again. I look forward to reading the next adventures of Drummond and Caine and seeing their personal relationship become deeper. Maybe next time we can meet Caine's family. Catherine Coulter has been a favorite author of mine for years and I always look forward to her books and J.T. Ellison may just become a favorite as well.

The Sixth day Has everything readers have come to love from Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison. The characters are dynamic, the story is flawless with the mix of history, suspense, and intrigue.

Reader will be caught up in The 6th day that won't realize they have been reading it non stop.

While the story is a little over the top it will keep readers hooked with the amount knowledge these authors have on the subjects they present to the reader.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Gallery Books for the advance copy.

Loved the suspense and history in this book! As a true history lover, I found the story to be fascinating and kept my attention riveted. Even if you are not a history buff, this book will keep you entertained all the way through. This is the first book I’ve read in the series but it definitely won’t be the last!

The Sixth Day was the first novel I read by Catherine Coulter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were captivating and the plot was exciting. FBI agents and Covert Eyes team members Nicholas Drummond and Michaela (Mike) Caine are vacationing in England when disaster strikes in London. Several major political figures die mysteriously. When the German Vice-Chancellor dies a drone is spotted hovering over the scene. Are these deaths assassinations? Simultaneously there is a massive hacking problem that affects every computer running MATRIX, the most popular spyware. Coulter also incorporates the story of a missing Voynich Manuscript. Roman Ardelean, founder of MATRIX, beleives he must have this manuscript to save his twin brother's life. Although there were four previous novels in this, A Brit in the FBI series, I felt comfortable with the plot and characters. Coulter's superb novel makes me want to start from the beginning.

I really enjoyed this book. I was glad to have the opportunity from NetGalley to be able to read it in advance.

This book grabs you from the very first sentence and never let’s go. It really looks at the use of drones, computer espionage and just how vulnerable the world of today is to acts of terror and corruption. I had not read any of the other novels in this series but the characters are so well fleshed out that it really doesn’t matter. I like the style and flow of the book and was awake very late reading it!

With all of the current Facebook revelations, the timing of this book is exceptional. It is indeed a strange new world with vulnerabilities no one could have foreseen even a few years ago and plot twists galore. Well executed and bound to be a best seller!

Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison return in their fast-paced action thriller series, A Brit in the FBI. Agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine must cut their vacation short when two high profile politicians are killed in a two day period. They know the game's afoot, but exactly what game and who is behind the attacks is yet to be revealed.

One thing I love about this thriller series is the complex plot lines. Mike and Nicholas are adventure junkies so one simple mystery to solve would not be enough for them! In The Sixth Day, pages from a mystical manuscript have been discovered and it can only be read by special twins. One man is determined to get his hands on the missing pages at any cost because they hold the key to his brother's life. While Mike and Nicholas are looking for the link between victims, Covert Eyes team member Adam Pearce is working the cybersecurity angle, looking for whoever is spying on MI5 and MI6. Roman Ardelean is the epitome of an evil mastermind genius. He uses a special class of computer code to infiltrate the most secure government databases and he has a group of wealthy citizens backing a secret project that could save many lives or throw the world into a state of pandemonium. He's a Romanian Lex Luthor and my favorite villain from the series so far!

While the previous novels of this series have had complex plot lines and mysteries that completely take control of your attention, I thought The Sixth Day gave too much information away before Mike and Nicholas came across it making the flow a bit repetitive. The mystery aspect of the story was very subtle and it felt as though it was quite easy for them to get to the answers of their investigation. Maybe the fact that they were fighting an enemy in the real world and in cyberspace made it seem like the frantic running around chasing leads was a limited part of the novel. The climax was done exceptionally well as Ardelean makes his last stand and Mike and Nicholas fight to save the lives of their loved ones and some very, very important people.

While The Sixth Day is not the most thrilling addition to the Brit in the FBI series, Coulter and Ellison still manage to expertly meld notable aspects of history and culture into an engaging read that will keep you flipping the pages. I adore Special Agents Caine and Drummond as partners, and lovers, and their eagerness to run headfirst into danger to catch a criminal always keeps me coming back for more!
