Written as a Prequel to the Wanted series, but released as book 8, you may want to read the others first, or immediately after. This book takes a look at the lives of Gunner, Josh and Jeff before they all fell in love.

As told in the guy’s POV, this book is a great insight to what they were feeling while in school, lusting after the girls of their dreams, and the futures that they wanted.

I strongly suggest that you read the entire Wanted series, it is THAT good. Kelly Elliott can seriously write some feelings in her books, and makes you experience all of them.

What a great way to start a new series!!!!

A cute story about two people who meet after months of talking/emailing for business purposes and immediately hit it off. Not in a romantic sort of way, but in a joking/friendship way. The a bomb gets dropped and a wife is needed ASAP. A proposal and arranged marriage follows but the joking/friendship continues to grow between them.

My only complaint is that I would have loved to read some of the interaction the two had before he came home. It was referenced but I think it would have helped the reader feel closer to both characters had it been included.

Dying to see how the hard ass boss manages to find a wife next!

This was not working for me at all. I couldn't connect with the characters and was not invested in what will happen with them. The story and whole marriage-of-convenience (the reasons behind it) felt too unrealistic and at the same time full cliches - the Irish playboy, drinker and womanizer and the quiet, stunning girl (who doesn't realise how stunning she is). It just wasn't for me

Connor started out a player, but the first interaction between him and Fallon had me laughing. Fallon started out a quite home bound girl with the best heart. The friendship/relationship these two share bring out the best in both of them. I wish I had a Connor for myself he's sexy and caring. I can't wait to read about the brother's finding their wives.

This was such a fun read. Those who know me, know I love all things Ireland (and my irish boyfriend!) so it was nice to read and picture all the places I've been, especially since only returning from Dublin two months ago. Magan Vernon certainly immerses you in the fun side of Ireland and makes you fall for Conner straight up. I liked the chemistry between the two leads with their slow burning relationship and conflicting feelings about why they were together at the time. The addition of Nanna, Leah and the brothers was a delight aswell. Definitely a change in reads for me considering all the thrillers I've been reading lately!

Good craic!

Thank you to the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was a great start to a new series! The characters were fun, and I enjoy a fake romance to real romance story. How he wants her to finally explore Ireland is adorable, and it was a fun read! Looking forward to more from this Irish, whiskey making family.

My first Mayan Vernon story and it was really sweet.

This is a gentle, get to know you, need a wife kind of book.

Conner and his brothers will lose their business if they don't get married and stay married. But Conner has nobody he can really turn to, and it has to be as real as real can get.

Fallen is Conner's brothers PA. She not only takes care of Jack but for the last 6 months has made sure Conner has done his job too. And over time they have become phone friends.

So Conner decides to as Fallen for her help. But what happens when these two start really spending time together and learning about each other?

Like I said, this is a nice friend to lover slow romance novel. Good read. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

With an enticing blurb, hot Irish hero, Ireland setting, and allure of the friends-to-lovers to fake marriage trope, I was excited to read Magan Vernon’s latest romance! Straight Up Irish is a sweet and dreamy fairytale with its Ireland setting and swoony Irish hero. I loved the family bond and ties woven throughout this story, the way the hero and heroine would risk so much to protect and help their families.

Unfortunately, it was not the fairytale for me. I neither forged a connection to the characters nor the storyline. I could not feel the chemistry between the hero and heroine. I needed a longer ending as the story abruptly ended. I needed an Epilogue at least six months after the story’s timeline and not the same day. I just could not feel this story as much as I wanted to badly.

I adore Magan Vernon and was wowed by her previous work with her last gem, Unmasked, which I rated five stars. However, Straight Up Irish just didn’t resonate with me. I WANTED to love this book, especially being mostly Irish and having visited Ireland coupled with my vast love for romance books and fairytales. I really did.

What better way to keep your business running well and safe, than to demand that your errant sons get married and stay married at least 6 months, before the end of the year! That is what Jack, Connor and Sean face, when their father passes away, in order to inherit their father's business.
Connor decides to go after Fallon, Jack's best assistant. This works for Fallon to a degree because she is helping to pay for her gran's nursing home and her own college loans besides, Connor is a handsome devil! Connor and Fallon have a hard time admitting to themselves that they are falling for each other. The try to keep it professional and just a financial arrangement but the heart wants what the heart wants., Their hearts want each other.
This story will tug at your heart strings. It is well written and the characters are well developed and interesting. I love the fact that this might be a trilogy since we have two more brothers to go since we have a HEA at the end of this book.
I would have given this book a higher score but the sentences ended and started in odd places and I personally do not care for the way the chapters would start in the middle of the page. I did however like the fact that you saw everything in Fallon and Connor's point of view. Alternating view points are one of my favorite types of books to read.
So if you like man meets lady and both fight their love until it overwhelms them in the end. Straight Up Irish by Magan Vernon is just the book for you!
Looking forward to reading the love stories of Connor's brothers, Jack and Sean!

This was a new to me author. Looks like a a pretty good start to the series.

Connor and Fallon devise a plan for a fake wedding so that each of them can get their hearts desire. For him, the business. For her, financial security and help for her Grandmother. As stories like this usually go, there are some flaws to the plan.

The story was a sweet read. Really predictable in the story line. I like the premise of the brother's in business. I actually think I may like books two and three a little more. At the very least, this book set up the rest of the series.

I’m obsessed with Ireland and all things Irish, so when I first heard about Straight Up Irish, I knew I had to read it. I’d also never read any of Magan Vernon’s books before, so I figured this was a good place to start.

Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. I couldn’t connect to the characters or the writing. There wasn’t much about the story that was believable - including the Irish setting. It’s hard to believe a father who loved his sons and wanted to keep his business in the family would set such a ridiculous, unrealistic stipulation in his will. Even if you can set that aside and go with it because fiction isn’t always necessarily completely believable, I couldn’t understand why Connor rushed Fallon into marrying him when they had a whole year. The entire story was incredibly repetitive, with Fallon constantly going over how it wasn’t a real relationship and she’d be leaving as soon as their six months were up. Also...I’ve heard for years it’s really difficult to get a divorce in Ireland, so if that’s true, it makes the whole married-for-six-months-and-then-caput thing even more unbelievable.

4 Shamrocks & Cheetos Stars!!

Having wanted to check out Ms.Vernon's work for awhile now I was so happy to pick this bad boy up!! It was so sweet, funny, and blush worthy. I enjoyed it!!

Fallon and Connor are brought together under the most unconventional of circumstances. As they agree to help each other out the sparks start flying between them. Complicated doesn't even begin to cover it.

Connor drove me a bit crazy at times but I really liked him especially as I kept on reading. I loved his bond with his brothers. Fallon was so caring and I adored her. Connor and Fallon's banter cracked me up as well.

Ms.Vernon created such a great read that still has me wishing that I was living in Ireland. I can't wait for the other brother's books!! (:

Magan Vernon had done a good job with "Straight Up Irish". Simply a good story all around. I liked Fallon. The writing was quite good.

I received an arc from Netgalley. While I am sure this is a great book Injust couldn’t get into the story.

This is the first book I've read from this author so I was really excited to read her work. I enjoyed the beginning but then it seemed to fizzle out. I wasn't pulled into the story as I had hoped and it seemed to drag a little. I honestly expected so much more.....this story could have been so much more but it was just missing a few things for me. One of the main things was the chemistry and romance between Fallon and Connor. Yes, it was a "business transaction at first but I felt as if there was no character development between the two. I wanted to see some type of bond or connection between the two develop and I didn't feel it at all. I felt a little let down. Yes, Connor did sweet things but I wanted more from them but sex. I wanted to feel as if there was feelings between the two and I wanted to believe it was there; it wasn't. With that being said, this wasn't a terrible read it just wasn't what I expected. I simply expected more romance and this story wasn't that one.

The book has a slow start, but besides that we don't have any background on the characters just that they already know each other.. the ending of the book was a little predictable even within the first chapters.. the European setting was nice for a change, but I found the chemistry between the MC's barely there and the sexy times were okay.. I wanted a little more angst and too much time passed in between chapters...

Connor has been communicating with Fallon, his brother's secretary for six months. He has never met her nor does he know what she looks like but he really likes her. When they finally meet, both are smitten with each other. I loved how sweet Connor was, a total gentleman. He always was trying to take care of Fallon, to give her all she should have had but never did. Fallon was a woman full of pride but so smart and knew how to keep Connor in line. The banter written between these two were funny and at times had me laughing out loud. I enjoyed this read and hope to read more by this author!

Loved the Irish setting but both MCs only left a mild impression on me. It is a slow start/slow burn marriage of convenience romance.

Connor is back home in Ireland to find out his deceased father's will threatens to cheat him and his brothers out of the family business, if they don't marry within a year. When he meets Fallon, his brother's assistance, Connor feels an instant attractration to her and when he learns that she's struggling financially to support her grandmother, the perfect solution presents itself. They'll marry, convince everyone that its real, secure his inheritance and Fallon gets the financial security she needs to keep her grandmother in comfort for her remaining years.

But soon, their relationship doesn't feel like a farce anymore but the real deal. But can an confirmed bachelor and a wary of love heroine make the leap and risk their hearts? It a romance so of course that's a yes! Both characters go through a point of self discovery and we get to see them grow from insecure and in the H's case, a cavalier life style to a happily committed and 100% devoted unit.

The writing was good but there was something missing that kept this from firmly grabbing my attention. I didn't really feel a strong connection for or between the MCs and felt the H was a bit too cocky and arrogant to buy into his insta-love. It could be the constant harping about his past with OW but he never really grew on me. The h was also a bit bland. The way to handled her ex was a bit immature for the character we are told she is
