I received a copy of HIS FOR THE WEEK on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Five stars and here's why:

Alice Gaines wrote a hella-hot, love story with just the right amount of erotic steam to keep me turning the pages for more. When Désirée/Rae and Nate spend a week at the sex resort together, sparks fly, inhibitions crumble, and barriers breakdown. What’s left is me fanning myself and begging for more! If you love sexy guys, savvy girls, and a steamy romance, then this book is for you! Highly recommend!

I didn't care for the story or the characters. Unfortunately I didn't feel a connection like I hope to when I read romance novels.

when sex columnist désirée knight is invited to review an erotic resort in his for the week she decides it's time to ask the hot guy she's been eyeing at the coffee shop. the problem is that rae feels like she needs to put on a persona to embody the sexy and bold désirée.

nate winslow knows that désirée is the quiet, unassuming woman he's been watching at the coffee shop for weeks now. so when she propositions him, he doesn't hesitate to go for it. especially since he's been dying to ask her out.

being together at the sex resort has them breaking down barriers and succumbing to sexual attraction quickly. but as they reach new levels of intimacy, both nate and rae realize that they want something more than a no-strings week. this was a steamy, enjoyable read.

**his for the week will publish on february 19, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (scorched) in exchange for my honest review.

The blurb for this book sounded deliciously sexy, but unfortunately, it just didn't work for me.

Nate recognizes the quiet woman at the coffee shop as the sex columnist, but it isn't until he eavesdrops on her conversation with a friend about needing a date for a week at a sex resort that he decides it's time to make his move. So, he's surprised when he gets "sexy" Désirée instead of coffee shop Rae, and rather than telling her he likes her, he instead decides to play along with the "sexy" act and see if he get her to admit it's all an act.

“With her hair curling around her face instead of tied up in a scrunchy, Rae did appear a lot more glamorous. Even under the worst conditions, she wasn’t bad looking. With Carla’s help, she could be downright pretty. But the problem was all of this was fake.”

Rae isn't comfortable as either her everyday self or her "sexy" counterpart Désirée. She's obsessed with being this caricature of "sexiness," which as far as I can tell, involved having perfectly done makeup and revealing clothes she was uncomfortable in - basically an external version of a stereotypical male fantasy. Normally I'd be all in for an initially unlikeable insecure woman who learns to love herself, but goodness, Rae was just over the top obnoxious and awful to Nate, and seemed to have no clue as to how unfair she was being to him. The sex scenes were hot, but I had a hard time reconciling how they acted with each other outside of the bedroom. Also, for a sex resort, it was all very vanilla, even The Barn, which was a letdown after all the hype.

Honestly, after struggling to get around 60% in, I skimmed the rest, mostly just to see if Nate would get finally get fed up with Rae. Unfortunately, this was just not the book for me.

His For the Week by Alice Gaines is the story of Désirée “Rae” Knight and Nate Winslow.
Rae is actually a shy women who writes a hot column Single and Sexy for a magazine. Normally she is at a coffee shop writing her stories there is where Nate sees her. When Rae gets a assignment to go to a Sex type Club/mansion she needs a partner and thinks Nate would be great. But she has to put on a Sexy persona before she will approach him.
Nate is actually pretty nice it is Rae who is acting hot and cold. Overall I liked the book and will look for more stories from this author.

I thought this was a fun, sexy and quirky romance. When extremely shy and insecure sex columnist Desiree "Rae" Knight decides to buck up and ask her crush, Nate Winslow fmto join her for a week at a sex club (for researcg), what could go wrong? They both decide to keep it commitment free and just for the week. But when when emotions get involved can they keep it as a physical connection only?

I thought this story was great. Rae frustrated me at times however because I thought she was hiding her true self based on what she thought Nate would want vs who she was inside.. But all in all this was a fun and quick read.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Bravo! 4 stars!

I enjoy the Scorched line, as I know I am going to get a story that is fun, shorter, and sexy/

Desiree/Rae and Nate have an attraction to one another, they see one another at coffee every morning but have never really spoken. So, when Rae needs someone to join her at a couple's/sex themed resort, she decides Nate is the perfect person to ask.

I enjoyed their conversations and their attraction. I also liked the parts that took place in the different parts of the resort...but, I was irritated by Rae and her insistence on being Desiree while with Nate. At first, I understood where she was coming from, and why...but after Nate shows her he is attracted to HER, not Desiree or Rae, for about the 400th time, I was frustrated. I wanted more time for them to develop their relationship, but they were constantly dealing with the "Nate can't really be attracted to me" story-line, and I wanted more.

I did enjoy this overall. It was fun, and it had some hot steamy moments. I do recommend the title.

Yikes. Unfortunately you lost me at “while his sex plundered hers”. The writing was horrible, I just couldn’t bring myself to go any further after the above mentioned sentence.

His For the Week by Alice Gaines was a fun contemporary romance, So Sex columnist Désirée “Rae” Knight needs a date for the week her possible big break is an article at a couples only exclusive sex resort.
Due to her upbringing with her mother (who seems to be a magnet for inappropriate controlling men.)
Rae has sworn off men. shes sexy and single but not adverse to a little playtime with the right man of course.
Nate Winslow recognises the understated quiet woman who always takes her coffee at the same watering hole as himself and is intrigued and fascinated.
Not really in the field for a relationship either after a messy divorce under his belt.
He can't help but lust after the nondescript woman and is plucking up the courage to Talk to her when opportunity falls directly into his lap.
Eavesdropping at the ladies bathroom door may seem sneaky but when Nate realises Désirée also has a crush on him and wants a partner for the week a "hook up guy" what red-blooded man single man would say no.
The only issue is the coffee shop Désirée he has been lusting over is gone and in her place is a polished and immaculate woman, who is this new lady.
Well, nate is going to find out.
So I really liked the start of this it was fun, playful and hot like really really hot.
I adored Nate he was funny, quirky and a god between the sheets.
Rae, I had more reservations about, she seemed obsessed with being single and sexy.
I mean to the point, it was like she was wearing actual blinkers.
The more Nate fell for her and tried to pull her out of her shell the more she turtled hiding beneath her shell of make-up and clothes.
This woman was single-minded in maintaining her armour, which is fine but this is not what she was underneath, this was not Rae herself.
I know she maintained that Nate wouldn't like the true her, that she wouldn't be good enough.
But what did Rae care she was adamant she didn't want the white picket fence with him so why hide her true self from him.
Especially when it was quite apparent he liked her just fine.
It was understandable how frustrated Nate started to get with the situation on hand.
And her eventual actions the night of the party were a kick in the face, I'm sure she would have milked it like a baby if the situations were reversed.
So I have a dilemma I did actually enjoy "His for the week" I just found myself not warming to the heroine at all and I'm not quite sure if in the end that she actually deserved Nate.
I just felt that Nate was much more invested in the whole thing Than Rae.
I mean how long does one woman need to make up her mind wake up and smell the coffee.
It would have served her right if Nate told her to take a long hike back the way she came.
But hey-ho as I said I did enjoy this and was actually invested in the outcome.
His for the week was well written and very easy to get lost in.
It had many colourful and diverse secondary characters that helped set the scene and ultimately made this a good story I just wish I had found the main heroine more likeable.
I was provided with an ARC of "His For The Week " By Entangled Publishing via Netgalley of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

A lovely story of a woman finding the beauty that is love. Praises to the author for giving us readers a beautiful story

His For the Week just wasn't for me. Which is a shame, as I really liked the premise of it. But unfortunately the story just fell flat and rushed, and though full of hot moments. It was lacking in anything else, and I just felt there was no chemistry between Nate and Désirée. Plus, I couldn't connect at all with Désirée. And to be honest I found her very annoying and bosses. But I did like Nate, I just didn't get what he saw in Désirée. However, this was a quick, easy read. With no angst and I'm sure fans of the author will enjoy it.

His for a week is about a woman with a lot of insecurities being who she is. Hiding behind a character she created to write columns she is a little blind to what's around her. Her mother has led her to believe that not many good things come from relationships.

Nate is a man who has lost quite a bit and may be a little jaded when it comes to relationships but when his fantasy woman and the woman from the coffee shop that has his attention are th3 same woman.....Well he wants to get to know her.

A week at a sex resort is going to put these two to the test to not only try out the attraction between them but when things go a bit further than the hook up man. Will they survive or crash and burn? I did like it and wish I had had more time to sit and read it all in o ne sitting. It's a pretty quick read and did enjoy it a lot

Sexy and sweet

Alice Gaines did a wonderful job with this story.
Desire' (Rae) and Nate fit together so well. I liked the fact that they both had baggage to deal with and they worked through it. The book was definately sexy yet there was a definate sweetness that ran through it I think because of Nate.
This book was a great find and an enjoyable read.

I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.

have no problem taking Nate Winslow off Desiree's hands right now. If she can't keep her selves together long enough to see a good thing right in front of her journalistic face, I'll help her out.
What a nudge she was. Damn but she was hard to like. She far surpasses an insecure woman, and jumps right into a controlling, overbearing witch with a couple extra personalities tossed in for good measure.
Rae has a special assignment for the magazine she writes for, her column Single and Sexy is a huge hit and she writes everyday at the coffee shop where Nate first spots her. No make up, hair messy and just a normal shy girl, Nate wants to get to know her. Circumstances never presented themselves until the magazine sends her on a special assignment to a converted old mansion, now turned into an erotic couples retreat. Rae's problem is she needs a partner. She also feels that she can't ask Nate unless she's in her Desiree make up and hair and on and on. A panic call to her best friend who is a make up artist is overheard by Nate and it's a dream come true for Nate. He'll be more than happy to go.
When they arrive Rae is wearing her Desiree persona and damn if she didn't make my head spin, I felt bad for Nate. What they had going for them was some smoking hot chemistry and it was nicely threaded through the story. The first few days Rae got up before dawn slunk into the bathroom, showered, applied her war paint and did her hair before Nate even woke up. Nate finally calls her on it. I love how he called her out on a lot of her b.s. and man there was a crap ton of it. She really was abrasive and not in a pretty way. If I heard her tell him one more time that this was only for the week I was going to toss my kindle. Damn she was annoying as hell. Nate was a saint to tolerate her crap as long as he did. Until the day he didn't. And someone pulled the plug and sparkle of poor pitiful Rae's bossy pants party. Just desserts. I thought he was nice about things. She still was clueless.
Damn if I don't so stupid well. Was she that self serving she couldn't catch on after several people close to her along with people at the retreat pointed out what a great couple they were. Yup, thick as a brick. End of rant. I gave the book 4 stars because of Nate. All man he was. Pure and simple.
This is a short read and I've not read Alice before but she wrote a good story. She made me love Nate and not so like Rae. Nice work Alice!

This is Rae and Nate story. She is very insecure about her physique and he is very confident. The pace was good and the writing flawless. There are a lot of sex scenes. If Erotica is your thing then this is a book for you.

His For The Week is sizzling hot as Nate and Rae burn up the sheets during an assignment at a resort dedicated to exploring erotic desires. As the week progresses, sex turns into something more. Are Nate and Rae prepared for what that means?
Both Nate and Rae have their own reasons for wanting to stay singled but they've both been attracted to each other for a long time. While Nate pushes for more than just sex, for a connection and a bond, Rae hides behind her journalistic persona and her fears.
I liked Nate. Aside from being gorgeous and the best sex Rae has ever had, he's honest, direct and generally a nice guy. Right from the start, he's intrigued by Rae. The real Rae, but she hides behind her byline Desiree Knight and the persona she's created for that person. So Nate pushes. He wants more of the real Rae and he wants to get to know her. Along the way, he pushes some of the wrong buttons with Rae and he makes a few blunders, but his heart is in the right place. I liked that even though it started out as just sex, it very quickly morphs beyond sex for him to the person Rae is on the inside.
And on the inside, Rae is running scared. Rae is sweet, funny, bright and charming. Desiree Knight is sexy, seductive, confident and a vamp. Rae doesn't think that Nate would be interested in her - the real her, so she lays on the Desiree Knight persona thick. I got pretty impatient with her after a while because most of the time, Rae was running scared. She's seen what disastrous relationships her mother has had and continues to have, and she doesn't want that for herself. She seems to think that she needs to remain single to be safe and happy. That good relationships don't exist. She's also sadly deluded and not willing to see beyond the blinders her past has put on her. So even as she trusts Nate to pleasure her and take care of her body, she holds herself apart from him, thinking she can keep her feelings from getting into the mix. When things fall apart, I admit I'm glad it was Rae who made the move to repair things between them. It would have pissed me off no end if Nate had to be the one to grovel when it was Rae constantly pushing him away.
While this was an erotic romance and had plenty of sexy times, Ms Gaines managed to make it not all about sex by creating well-rounded backstories for Rae and Nate. They became more than just people having a good time for a week with no strings attached sex at a sex resort. They were people with feelings, fears, hopes and dreams. The sex made for a spicy read but their personalities brought depth and meaning to the story.
I enjoyed my first book by Ms Gaines. I'm certain to check her out again for future books. Might even see if she has a backlist I can dip into.

If you like erotica you might enjoy this book but I didn't think it was that well written.

Sex columnist Desiree "Rae" has made her mark as sexy and single. When she's thrown for a loop as the newest story she has to write is for a couples retreat.
Insert Nate, pretty much the guy Rae has been lusting after for months. When he agrees to a week at the exclusive couples retreat where pretty much anything goes he expects to get to know Rae better. They certainly have no problems between the sheets, the shower, pretty much anywhere they can... but it's outside the sexy times they don't manage so well. Nate has past hurts to overcome and Rae has patterns to break. Can they see past their own issues to find the intimate binding relationship to last a lifetime?

ARC received for review

2.5 stars

The title should be Hers For the Week. Rae was bossy and annoying and not comfortable in her own skin or in her alter-ego's, Desiree. Then he was a little bit of a weiner, not being brave enough to ask her out any multiple times they saw each other at the coffee shop. Plus he thought her wanted to be spanked was going to be abuse, what rock has he been hiding under. Yeah they had some hot sex, but the resort they went to had too many rules...you can only be naked outside between the hours of 5am - 7am and some other weird time. Then there was the Barn, what a let down for all the build up.
