Edge of your seat, nail-biting, can't wait to see what happens next type of book!!!

It's been a while since I've read some PNR and this books makes me question myself as to WHY????? I absolutely couldn't put this book down.

OOH this one had me from the first chapter. I couldn't quite figure Beckham out but it didn't stop me from falling for him. Then we have Reyna who was a strong, independent woman who was trying to do right for her brothers. These two bump heads, lots of things that Reyna doesn't understand but Beckham sure as heck isn't helping matters at all.

I cannot for the next book to see what happens!!!

Reyna is trying to help her family out and the only way to do that is to become apart of the Visage and providing blood. But when she is chosen for a new project and finds out she will be permanently placed with a subject, everything she has ever known is about to change. And when she meets Beckham, he will challenge her like no one else ever has.

Beckham is apart of the new Visage program and is already regretting it. He can’t deny the instant attraction he feels for Reyna but knows he needs to separate himself from her and keep it business. But as he spends time with her he can’t resist her, but can anything really work between a Vampire and a Human?

Together they will not only be faced with how they feel for each other but how their worlds work. But will they be strong enough to help one another? Or is it too much of a risk to trust one another?

No Spoilers!!Blood Type is a paranormal vampire romance story with lots of blood action happing...well I should say lots of Blood talk also! I normally do not read this type of story but I was super surprised that I really enjoyed the story and the writing style. This is part one of a three part series... there is romance in the story but unfolds a lot slower because it is a three part series. Overall I think Blood Type was very entertaining and made me want to find out more about super rare blood types:):)

REVIEW: Still deciding.....
"Every journey begins with one step."

I am aware it is rather odd of me to withhold a star rating until I have fully completed a series, but there is a reason with this one. Bear with me as I try to maneuver my way through my first Vampire PNR and how I felt about the story and the writing as a whole. And yes, you are reading that correctly: I, The Book Bee, read a PNR book with a vampire in it AND. I. LIKED. IT. Weirdly enough...I liked it a lot. I was completely drawn in to the story development and the different nuances this one had. However, as much as I liked it, I also had some issues with it. Not enough to push me away from reading more of the story; just enough that I felt I needed to mention them.

I am not a huge fan of third person; a lot of the time it's because it's just not written well. It doesn't flow well for me, and sometimes it keeps you on the outside of the story, looking in - not really feeling a part of it. Sometimes my ability to connect with the characters is even inhibited. Unfortunately, such was the case with this book. In general, it felt very scripted for a good amount of the book before it started to flow. Maybe it was me needing to warm up to KA's style of writing, or maybe it was the POV. I'm not sure, but being in that POV, it separated me from the actual emotions of the book and being in Reyna's shoes. It did, however, allow me to watch everything happen from afar. Which, if I think about it, is probably what I needed since I have never read a book in this genre and I needed to experience this one a little differently.

Also, if I'm going to be nitpicky here, Reyna was obnoxiously irritating. Why? I am not entirely sure why she was, but she most definitely was. Her job, her desire for this change, and her reasonings behind it all made sense, but her actions disputed that sense. Some attitude was justified, but many of her childish rants and tantrums were just that: childish. She didn't come off as strong and independent. She came off as bratty and immature. For someone who had nothing, she sure was ungrateful. I'm not bemoaning the fact that she had an attitude and rightfully so. Not at all. I just didn't care for her character as a whole. She could almost be described as wishy washy. I wrote in my notes that she was "stubbornly wretched". Her anger and rudeness were contradictory to some of her statements/actions, so I had a very hard time warming up to her. But again, she was going through something I can only imagine, so I had to dismiss her insufferable antics to get through some of the scenes. I realize she was in a situation she didn't want to be in and I can totally recognize that. Even though I felt she was completely out of line in some aspects, if I had to put myself in her shoes, I would probably be a bitch too. {{just saying}}

"Beckham was an enigma wrapped in a mystery."

That quote couldn't be any more true. Was Beckham perfect? No. He was was so closed off and too controlled to allow himself to feel anything. But there was something about him that I needed to discover through this story. His reasoning....his why. I wanted to know what was going on with him and I loved seeing his control break and him losing himself with Reyna, no matter how brief it was. That 'break' is what I looked forward to. I didn't necessarily feel their blooming love immediately though - it felt like it came out of left field. In the beginning, their relationship felt very clipped, almost forced. I was 'told' about this love long before I ever felt it, but I did eventually warm up to it and them and the book went a little more smoothly for me.

Having said all that, I know it sounds like I didn't like this book, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Even though I had some issues, I did actually really enjoy the storyline. Having never read a Vampire PNR, it definitely made me want to read more in this genre, but I felt like I was overly picky because I was paying attention to every little detail. I liked the way this one was different than anything I've ever seen before (I can only compare to movies/tv series that I've seen - lame, I know), but I liked the vision K.A. Linde was affording me through her tale. Overall, this fantasy world had me turning the pages, because as irritated as I may have been, I was really curious as to where the story was going - I was genuinely intrigued. I may have struggled, but I couldn't put it down and that is such an anomaly for me, but it also says something. I warred with myself between the writing and the storyline, but I have to say the storyline won out. I normally would have put the book down and walked away without looking back, but there was just something about it that really sucked me in. {{NO pun intended}} I'm very interested in seeing the outcome for Reyna and Beckham play out. I actually can't wait to read more of this series, as well as some other Vampire/PNR books. I'm looking forward to BLOOD MATCH and BLOOD CURE.

~BEE

P.S. to my review: The writing in this book was quite literally jarring. We get a sentence. Then a period. We get a reaction. Then a period. We get an action. Then a period. It was very awkward to read. Where are the conjunctions? Where are the commas and the embellishments? Lengthen those sentences. Make the words talk! Make them pop!! Don't make them sit on a page, stagnant and not moving. The structure was almost elementary in form and it was quite distracting. I was told this was not indicative of her normal writing style; that this may be a publisher editing/indie writing difference. I can only hope.

This is book is a masterfully crafted world that will draw you in from the beginning. The author weaves a world of intrigue, suspense, love and betrayal. It is a world like no other that I have read.

Reyna is a woman who is just trying to find her place in this new world and find a way to help her family survive after the economic collapse. She decides to do the one thing she never wanted to but it is now her only option, become an employee of Visage. Little does she know that this choice will lead her into a new and even more dangerous world than the one she is leaving behind.

Beckham is a complex character that will keep you guessing. He is a high-ranking official in Visage and becomes Reyna’s Sponsor. I enjoyed finding out all the different layers that create Beckham. He wasn’t what I thought he was at all. He had a few surprises up his sleeve. There were times I wanted to punch him and then he would catch me off guard and make me want to love him. I love characters that keep me on my toes.

I really need book 2 (Blood Match). I need to know what the author has in store for Reyna and Beckham and all the other characters.

4.5 Permanent CROWNS

If you love paranormal romances, read this book. If you don't, read this book. Once again, this is not my genre. The last paranormal romance I read was Twilight, but I was certainly sucked into this world with its new order between humans and vampires. I was riveted to each page trying to figure out all the players and where their allegiance lies.

I haven’t been in love with a vampire hero this much in forever. It is like KA Linde took my favorite romance hero qualities and added the dangerous vampire component only to make him more alluring. I was thoroughly seduced by this man and everything he stands for.

Reyna is an interesting heroine. I didn’t always agree with her choices, but her characterization is solid and never falters. Like her, readers are stumbling through the new world, wondering who is on which team, trying to learn the rules of the new world, and being seduced by the danger and allure of Beckham.

One thing Blood Type will do is keep you in suspense. Everything from the relationship between Becks and Reyna to the edge of your seat plot line with keep readers captivated, unwilling to walk away. The ending does leave readers hanging and waiting will be torture, but I cannot wait to see how it all plays out.

I am not a fan of paranormal romances, but I found myself swept up in this romance anyway. I became captivated by this world, the characters, and the storyline. I am already waiting for more.

It has been a while since I've read a good vampire book. The last time I really got into one was The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike and I read that when I was in high school. I haven't found a series that I've wanted to read...until now.

When I started reading Blood Type I wasn't sure what to expect. Knowing the types of books K.A. Linde writes I knew that there would still be a fair amount of angst in the book. I was unsure of what would happen in the in-between. Would I like the rest of the story?

Well I read a preview chapter that she posted a while back and from that one chapter, I was hooked. I wanted to know more about this girl, Reyna. I wanted to know more about why she was doing what she was doing. Then we met Beckham. And the angst started and not only was I already hooked, now I was salivating to get through each chapter.

The story is well-paced and the characters are thought out. I love Reyna and her spunk and I love Beckham and all his broodiness. The story line kept me invested in the characters and in the story. And when the end came...it hit me like a bolt of lightning! I could not believe that's where it ended. And now, I am so anxious for the next book!!

K.A. Linde did a great job with this first book. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next book and where she is going to take this story and these characters.

The first in K.A. Linde's new series, despite this being PNR, I think I have to classify this as "vampire-lite." Yes, the whole vampire-human thing is central to the plot, but given the details of the way the story unfolds (which I won't go into here), it's not as much in the forefront as you might think.

Reyna's hand is somewhat forced by her circumstances, but I still wanted to shake her several times throughout the book for all the waffling/flip-flopping she did. Beckham is cold and remote and I never felt that I got a good read on him. Much of that is because the book is written exclusively from Reyna's perspective and that might have been by design - I'll have to see how the rest of the story plays out.

Linde does an good job of world-building and creating an intriguing future (?) where poverty is rampant and vampires have risen to the top of the economy by creating a business model around humans providing blood. Fair warning that this is a true trilogy and the book ended on a cliffhanger. So if that's not your "thing" either pass or wait until all the books are out.

5 stars for - Blood Type - the first book in a new paranormal romance series by K.A. Linde. I was blown away by how utterly unique and exciting Linde's spin on the vampire world was. I do want to give those who need it forewarning though, that with this only being the first of three planned books it ends in a cliffhanger of epic proportions.
Reyna Carpenter was the youngest in her happy family of five but after her parents died she always felt like a burden to her older brothers. Reyna decides to take matters into her own hands and help out the only way she knows how and applies for a job as a blood escort since she can't qualify for any other work. Reyna's only thoughts were that the money she will make for the temporary position will help her and her brothers afford their very meager apartment and minimal food with little if any being leftover. What she never in a million years would expect is an exclusive offer to be placed permanently in a new program with an executive at Visage that comes with so many bells and whistles and a steep pay increase but the only drawback is she can't go back home to tell her brothers and she must decide in the next handful of minutes or the offer expires.
Beckham Anderson is one of the senior officials within Visage - a corporation run by vampires. Visage technically is the company that runs the world and Beckham sits on the executive level of that company. Beckham is a man with many layers who we know very little about, he is cold and calculating for so much of the book you have no idea how you feel about him. Then seemingly out of no where with about thirty percent or so of the book left it was game over and I firmly found myself on #TeamBecks!
Do yourself a favor an READ. THIS. BOOK! So much mystery, danger and Linde's signature angsty romance are all mixed together to take you on one heck of a journey like never before. I promise you that you've never read a vampire romance like this before and it will leave you breathless and on the edge of your seat until the very last page!

A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.

For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival.

In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her.

Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.

For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.

Review:

Very interesting start to this new series!

I really enjoyed this world that the Author invented. The story was fast paced, mysterious and action packed. Now, this story does end on a cliffhanger, so if that bothers you may want to wait until all the parts are out to read it. I liked the way the Author made the humans the more down trodden and the vampires are ruling everything. You have the gritty, run down side where the humans live and the modern, clean side where the vampires live.

I really liked Reyna, she is smart, independent and not afraid to do what she needs to do to help her family and herself. She is although a little out of her league with all the vampires and machinations going on.

Beckham is definitely your typical brooding vampire. For most of the book I don't really like him. Of course, later we learn there is more than meets the eye with Becks. Once they are actually together they have super chemistry and the intimate scenes are sexy and well-written.

Like I said before this does end on a cliff hanger and I cannot wait to read what happens next.

Linde has done it again. I have been DYING for this novel to come out since I read her announcement, and it was SO MUCH MORE than I was hoping for.

Reyna and Beckham! I just can't, I need more of them and I need it now.

This novel was such a change of pace for Vampire reads. It reminds me of a move that came out a while back where vampires were mainstream and kind of ran the world. I Loved it. I also loved this book. It was new and exciting and my goodness, the build up in this book rivals all of Linde's other publications for my top read.

Also, this book has SO MUCH IN IT! There is a lot of world building going on and a lot of building of the story, while also developing the plot. I loved that I felt like I was learning the world as I was reading the story, rather than Having he book told to me before we dove into the fun parts.

I don't know if that makes sense. But I don't know how wiles to pt it. You dive in and get immersed into the read, but not in a confusing way. Loved it.

Reyna was a strong willed character that fought her own battles. I loved that she did what she needed to do to save her family. I also loved that she stuck to her guns and kept her attitude and personality through everything she endured.

I can't wait for the next novel in this series.

If you are a vampire fan, or even a romance fan that loves a good paranormal twist, GET THIS!

Have you been needing a good vampire romance lately? With angst, mystery, and characters you can’t get enough of? Look no further than K.A. Linde’s Blood Type. Holy crap! This book blew me away. I devoured it within hours and needed more after it was over. This storyline consumed me in every way and I’m so ready for the next installment; just know…Blood Type does, in fact, end in a cliffhanger.

“Everyone is corrupt. Everyone is broken.”
“I’m not,” she whispered.”
“Oh Little One, this world will kill the goodness left within your beating heart.”
“But it will not break me.”
“No,” he agreed. He leaned his head into her hair and drew a deep breath. “I will do that.”

Everything about this book is so well developed; the characters are amazingly thought out and it’s like their personalities jump off the pages. I fell in love with both Beckham and Reyna. Beckham’s character was full of angst and intrigue while Reyna was hot headed, brave, and so relatable in almost every way possible. She’s human with all the complicated emotions and thought processes while Beckham, the vampire, is shrouded in all the mystery that a character like him should be. He has many layers and I loved how Reyna peeled them back little by little in her own human-like way.

The world Linde has created is so detailed and thought provoking that it was easy to get lost in. When we readers enter into it, Vampires have already came out of hiding and have established themselves as a part of functioning society. In fact, they have taken over and are in no way finished making the world more vampire-friendly. Because of this and a fallen economy most humans just can’t make ends meet. This is why Reyna decides to become a blood escort so she can help contribute to her family’s financial needs. By random selection (or was it), she is chosen for Beckham’s permanent escort, a new program at Beckham’s corporation, Visage, was slowly rolling out. This is where things get good…

Beckham isn’t too keen on a permanent escort; reason being is that he has his own motives and she doesn’t fit into his life or the plan that he’s laid out. She’s a means to an end, but he isn’t prepared for Reyna because she becomes so much more than just something to appease his boss. She ensnares him and enchants him like no other ever has. When things start heating up at Visage Reyna is smack dab in the middle of it and we are left trying to figure out if their personal relationship can withstand the issues in their professional lives.

In Linde fashion, the chemistry between Reyna and Beckham is off the charts! It was a palpable type of need in both of them that leaves readers breathless and needing more. I loved how the instant attraction was there but both fought to keep it at bay, but in the end just couldn’t deny themselves any longer. Sure, there are huge hiccups in their way and believe me…it’s so much more than he’s a vampire and she’s a human. The overall plot was fast paced and has a depth to it that just fascinated me and put me in awe of Linde’s talent.

Everything about this book is so good and I’m so, so ready for the next installment that releases June 26, 2018.

We are paranormal readers at heart, it’s always been one of our favourite genres. If you’re like us in that respect then you’ll know what we mean when we say Blood Type was pure old school paranormal and we are so incredibly excited about this. Nostalgia eat your heart out, this is just what we needed and have been missing. Now whilst it felt old school there was no mistaking this for something we’d read before, rather it was a unique and original concept with passion, suspense and intrigue.

‘She wanted to make something of herself. One day she would. Every journey begins with one step. Hers began with this one. ‘

KA Linde slowly built a world of humans and vampires living alongside each other knowingly yet with a deep seated resentment brewing in the background. The affluent vampires living it up and the humans struggling in poverty. The vampires are without question in control but in the shadows a rebellion is brewing. Just who is betraying who and what truly lies behind the intentions of the Visage?

‘She wanted more. She craved him like an addict craved the next hit. She didn’t know what he did to her, but when they got like this, she didn’t care. It didn’t matter how infuriating he was, she was caught up in the whirlwind of their desires.’

Reyna our naïve and sometimes slightly frustrating heroine is trying to make life better for her two brothers as well as herself. Living in the slums with little to no escape she decides to sign up to become a blood donor at the prestigious company Visage which proclaims to serve the sole purpose of acting as a blood bank for vampires in order to stamp out -a literal blood bath- and also to match up vampire to human of the same blood group which prevents unnecessary violent reactions. Little does Reyna know that her blood means she’s matched to a very powerful vampire and not only that, she’s signing up to become his own personal blood escort.

“So that’s it? You said you’d never kiss me again…and now you have.”
“A mistake,” he said callously. “Your emotions run high, and they send my…baser instincts into overdrive.”
“It couldn’t be that you’re a man desiring a woman?”
“No. It is an animal enjoying the hunt. The monster within struggling to get out. Nothing more.”

Beckham Anderson is an enigma. Affluent, secretive, aloof, superior and seriously frustrating but an oh so wonderfully lush and delicious brooding vampire who is clearly hiding what and who he truly is. There’s a steel wall encasing the heart and mind of our controlling vampire. Whilst there’s bouts of caring, attraction and protectiveness displayed he’s still an insufferable arsehole, but a lovable arsehole nonetheless.

“Come back.”
“What?”
“Come back….Stay with me.”
“Why? So you can keep stringing me along?”
“No, because with me is where you belong.”

This first book in a three book series was brilliantly written and a great introduction to a story we found to be immediately addictive. It was fast paced story wise yet the romantic element almost slow burn. Even though book one was push pull – back and forth we understood why and enjoyed that this aspect felt almost secondary to an evolving storyline of the inequality between vampires and humans and the fight that’s brewing just beneath the surface. A mystery is unravelling and we cannot wait to discover what truly lies beneath.

Oh, there are so many things I could say about this book.

So many things!

But I honestly don't know what to say.

I'm just... Shocked. And have a book hangover.

A serious book hangover...

Ok, here goes!

I loved it.

I loved the concept, I loved the writing style (it was my first KA Linde) and I liked the characters.

The chemistry between Reyna and Beckham was smoking hot.

The pace of the story was just right.

The information teases and setups were gripping. Throughout the book, I had so many suspicions and theories... And I was right on a couple of things! However, there is so much more to come and I cannot wait!

The book was unputdownable and I swear to god I was in a near perpetual state of anxiety throughout the entire thing waiting for something bad to happen, for the other shoe to drop, and for it to all go wrong... And it did!

OMG the ending!!

WHY?

Why did it have to end like that?!

I hate cliffhangers and this was just too much!

I can't take it! I may actually die and I can't die because I need to know what happens!

😭

I think paranormal romance lovers who like their PNR with an edge - this edge being a pseudo-dystopian setting - should definitely read this and fear not on the cliffie! For book two is out soon.

I have been wanting to read K.A. Linde for a while, but had not gotten around to it yet, so when I had the chance to review Blood Type, I jumped on it. Though I have read paranormal stories before, they are not what I tend to read, but I was so very pleasantly surprised reading this! I devoured this book!

In Blood Type, vampires are the rulers and humans fight to survive. Reyna Carpenter needs to help her family and when all else fails, she decides to become a blood escort. Reyna wanted to be strong and was determined to do what needed to be done.

Beckham Anderson is a wealthy and very commanding vampire. He is dark, sexy and full of mystery. He was a cold and distant, yet there were times we saw a bit of a thaw from him. I loved him, even when I was frustrated with him!

Reyna’s brothers were doing all they could to survive and care for her, but she realizes she needs to do her part as well. So, she becomes a blood escort, someone who provides blood when needed, and was partnered with Beckham. She was so unprepared for him. He on the other hand seems to be interested in everything but Reyna.

As I mentioned, I have read paranormal books before, but they are not usually my go-to for reading, however, to-date, Blood Type is the best PNR book I have read. I was riveted by this story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book! The story was full of angst and that ending! I have a new-to-me author for sure!

4.5 stars! Loved it!

I have to tell you that I am so excited about this new twist on Vampires, this dystopian paranormal romance. Oddly I have never been a huge dystopian fan (minus Hunger Games of course, ha) but there is just something so right about bringing these two genres together and in particular with vampires as the paranormal element.

Reyna is a loyal as they come, to her brothers that is...her only remaining family, a family who have not just fallen on hard times but have been living in poverty, her brothers working themselves to the bone just to keep a ramshackle roof over their heads and a minuscule amount of food in their bellies. Reyna, unable to finish college, meaning unable to get a beneficial job does the only thing she can to help her families finances, she decides to become a blood donor.

Things go topsy turvy for Reyna however when she becomes (basically) a test subject in a new type of blood host arrangement. Instead of short term arrangements the vampire counsel is attempting to discover how long term arrangements between one vampire and one host will work out. Seemingly in their mind this is a win-win situation for everyone, but of course you know there has to be something nefarious going on underneath. Not only is Reyna invited into this new program but she's also placed with bad boy millionaire alpha, top of the 'game' vampire, Beckham.

When it comes to Beckham, he's a vampire you love to hate and hate to love. He's got a lot of annoying habits (one human in particular) and even more secrets. Yet, even at his worst moments if Reyna could see past her fears of the unknown and her naivety she would see that he is only trying to care for and protect her the only way he knows how. The vampire world as we know it has a different feel in this book but the basic truths of vampire society hold true. There are always machinations, always a hierarchy, and always some truly depraved among them. I loved that even with the dystopian-ness of Blood Type the basic truths that we have come to expect from a paranormal are still there. It gives this book a edgy comfort that will have you feeling safe in your read when you really never are, ha.

I will tell you this book, it ends on a pretty big cliffhanger so if you don't mind them go forth and read, READ NOW. However, if you are not a cliffhanger fan be warned. Buy the book but just wait for the next one, Blood Match to come out..maybe even the last, Blood Cure. I am so excited for this series. I am a HUGE paranormal fan and other than my tired and true authors (J.R. Ward, Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, Carrie Ann Ryan...) I feel like paranormal has kinda fallen by the wayside so it is great to see a new fresh idea coming out, especially one like this that will have you hooked and begging for more!

Blood Type by K.A. Linde is by far my favorite read this year. It was full on addictive and I couldn't stop reading. Once I got to the last page, it was an instant NO!! WHY?? It absolutely killed me that it ended the way it did, talk about a gut wrenching cliffhanger. Everyone who reads it is going to be BLOWN AWAY.

You talk about a slow, slow burn. Oh my word, I'm never gonna be the same. This was the best book hangover I've had in a while. It completely consumed me, owned me, it was perfection.

Reyna's character will surprise you and you'll love her spunk. Even though she's had to do something she never thought she would, she doesn't let it break her. She holds her head high and takes on this new world with a fierce heart.

Calling all vampire lovers, sigh, you are going to worship Beckham. This was one of the best characters. I'll never get him out of my system. When Beckham brings his brooding, I don't care attitude into your life, you're gonna fall HARD and I mean HARD! I knew I'd love him and boy was I right. It's like he pulls you in and all you can think about are those eyes, his smile, how cunning he is and that you would do ANYTHING to get more of him.

So if you love Vampires, a book that's story never lets you go, and a character you full on NEED more of, you are going to be so satisfied you picked this one up.
I give Blood Type by K.A. Linde 5 out of 5 TANGLED IN BECKHAM STARS.

Rayna raised her hand as her number was called by an administrator of the hospital. - number 4 9 2. Reyna had been waiting eight hours and at last her number had been called. Visage was the largest company in the world and it specializes primarily in what they called body employment services or blood escorts. Reyna was waiting to be tested and become the thing she feared most. Then she thought how her brothers Brian and drew were going to kill her. But reyna was there of her own free will if poverty and near starvation could be considered free will. Thousands had gone through the testing in the last ten years since Visage had unveiled its plan to employ humans as blood donors for vampires. Reyna had to put food on the table for hre brothers and that was why she was here. Reyna couldn’t stand seeing them wasting their lives away toiling in factories. Reyna hated needles but there would be lots and lots of needles. Reyna was twenty one her parents had died thirteen years ago in a car accident. Reyna had an on again off again boyfriend named Steven who worked with her brothers. Then another man came through the door and told the administrator-Dr Trainer after her vitals had been done and blood drawn- to go to the eastern corredor. The man came in and reminded reyna of a mad scientist, he introduced himself as Dr. Roger Washington. He proceeded to tell Ryena they had elected her to be a trial subject for their new venture. Dr washington was the head of the team. Her type, history, build, and biology made her a great candidate for this venture. He also said anything they talked about was completely classified. Visage came forward in the middle of the economic collapse and wanted humans and vampires tp coexist in a mutually beneficial atmosphere. The Blood Cure was born. They would register all known vampires and offered humans money to become their blood donors. They new program was a permanent position with double the pay instead of switching to different sponsors every month which was being done now. Even though Reyna knew her brothers would hate her doing this she agreed as Dr. Washington told her she could quit at any time.that she wanted to. Then reyna filled out a lot of paperwork and was told her sponsor was there to pick her up. Reyna’s sponsor was Beckham/Becks Anderson he was Senior Vice president of Visage Incorporated. Reyna was very intimidated but refused to let Beckham see it. This man made her want to run as fast and as far away from him as possible. She could do this. She could leave behind everything she had ever known and go live with this strange man Beckham was a complete ass. He lived in the penthouse of a Visage building in the city that Reyna hated. It had been a week and a half and still beckham had not fed from Reyna. She knew he had originally been against the program but had still became her sponsor. Reyna went to club with the valet-Everett- of their building as she wanted some friends but Everett hit on her and reyna went outside to get some air and Everett followed but then was attacked by a rogue vampire and almost drained dry then the rogue was going after Reyna ready to bite her then Beckham showed up and killed the vampire got Everett to the hospital and took her home. He had saved her life. Beckham called his “Little One”. Beckham brought Reyna a camera so she could take pictures for a hobby. But he warned her not to let anyone know.
I was very disappointed by the ending of this book I had loved it was going to rate this a five until the last chapter or so. Then it went to ma three an I pondered a lower score but it was a great read until the end and that had ruined the book for me i was actually POed . I loved Beckham and Reyna together. I loved how he always worried about her being safe and actually saved her several times and took all her questions even if he rarely answered them. But as I said the ending had ruined what I so had been enjoying.

This book was great. Reyna is struggling to find work after the economy collapsed and vampires are controlling technology and jobs. Beckham is a high level Visage corporation vampire. Reyna is desperate to take the load off her brothers, so she signs up to be in Visage’s blood donor program for money. Reyna is paired with Beckham, and she is not ready for his world and what comes along with it.

This book is not like every other paranormal book, which I appreciated. It has characters you love, and ones you hate, and things are never what you expect. I can’t wait to find out next. K.A. Linde hit this one out of the park.
