Rachel Hollis motivated me from the first page until the end then I went back to reread several areas again. Her openness about being a foster parent and eating disorders as well as spirituality spoke to the relevancy of this story. Loved the book and looking forward the next one

"SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION OF ME IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS."
Drop the mic because THAT quote right there, is worth buying the book! If you haven't bought this book, what are you waiting on?
I admit, I was hesitant to jump on the #gwyf bandwagon until a friend posted that quote. Nelson publishing along with Netgalley were kind enough to allow me a galley to read this book and after a couple of chapters, I HAD to run out and pick up a physical book plus, one for another friend.
Currently, my book looks like a textbook with highlighting and notes galore! That means it's a well-loved book!

This book has given me a ton of confidence and I'm beyond grateful that Rachel Hollis shared her art with us. There are many lessons and love in this text and I know that every woman can appreciate the words. Looking forward to Rachel's next book! If you haven't picked up Girl, Wash Your Face then you need to RUN to your nearest bookstore and grab a couple!
Keep reading and I wish you all a Merry and Blessed Christmas!!

I am not in the target market for this book.  I am 40 and have 2 boys in their mid and late teens. I would have LOVED, to read this book in my younger, young family years.  However, I still loved this book.  Rachel Hollis is relatable. It was as if this book is a conversation with your best friend, just talking and keeping the conversation real. There were many valid points in this books, but the key was to do what works for you. Be you. Be confident and DON'T take "no" for an answer when you are striving to reach your goals.

I can't wait to read her next book, Girl, Stop Apologizing, that is coming out in March 2019!

Thank you to netGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy.

This book just wasn't for me and I was unable to finish it. I can see how perhaps some people would connect with it. I felt like a lot of it is just common senses and it got redundant. I also felt like instead of being a strong woman, she often came across as a doormat (in relation to her husband and his past behaviors).

Rachel Hollis had a lot of nerve and a strong sense of self to publish a book like this and I'm so thrilled she did because I haven't read a book that I can relate so much like this one in a very long time.
I can't explain in many words how incredibly useful this book was to me.
The story that this lady told was just so compelling and it reached me in a way not many non-fiction books can. I was completely shocked at how much fun I got reading this and also how much value I got out of it.
I know my life doesn't look like hers in any way and I haven't found my forever partner in life but I do feel related to the small little messages she spread throughout the book.
A different outlook in life can help but pointing the little lies that sometimes nagged at us from the back of our minds, maybe not even in the same words, it's a good way to spread awareness and uplift people.
I'm glad I was able to read this book. Thanks to Netgalley for providing a digital copy.
After reading the whole thing I bought the audiobook version and I listen to some chapter each month when I need some reality check from my own way of doing things and living life.

*** 4 Stars***

I had never heard of Rachel Hollis until I had seen a lot of people recommending this latest book from her "Girl, Wash your Face." Oops, I know where have I been, because now I'm so sad I didn't find her sooner. What an honest and just great woman she comes across as. This is an inspirational read for women and at times it did sound a little preachy and overly optimistic but that's the point! A lot of this book is setting goals, how to stick to them, and accomplish those set goals.
I don't have children yet so I couldn't completely relate to some of the subject matter on parenting however, I still enjoyed it. It was excellent knowledge and anticipation of what I may experience when hopefully that time comes.

Special thanks to NetGalley for allowing me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I am not as religious as she is but I can respect her beliefs. Sometimes it was too much and I didn't appreciate it being thrust in my face. My biggest hang up was that as much as this book was raved about I kinda expected more than what there was in this book. I just feel if it's going to be marketed as a self-help book there should be more "help" than a simple "You can do it!".

So many friends and bloggers I follow raved about this book, so I was eager to see what the fuss was about. It just didn't do it for me. It was not a difficult read, but it took me several weeks to finish because the author's lack of depth drove me nuts. I was just not feeling it.

3 1/2 stars. I’m ambivalent about rounding up or down. Kid stuff was a substantial portion which I can’t really relate to. I tried to find a universal message, but it wasn’t the same. I also felt like some stuff was redundant. Towards the end it felt like the book was therapeutic for the author. I appreciated the insights and realness, and positive outlook. The theme was similar to others I’ve read recently for PD. I was hoping this book would make a great gift, but too many things turned me off from wanting to share it, unless it was for the exact right person.

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

Ok, so this book that I am about to write a review on has been on Amazon's most read books list for about 34 weeks. That intrigued me and I decided to check it out. Now clearly this book is written for women and I had no business picking it up but it's popularity made me forget gender specificity and go for it anyways.
At it's fundamental level this book is a peer-to-peer advise from Rachel Hollis (if you don't know who she is like I didn't, I suggest you Wiki her) to women who are dealing with some unpleasant things that come with being a woman. Ms. Hollis uses examples and events from her own life to show how she dealt with such issues. Although, apart from may be two or three women specific issues, most of the advise can be equally be dispensed to men as well who are trying to better themselves. I personally feel the advise in this book is pretty gender neutral. So if you are looking for some motivation to start out your new year then this book might provide you some.

Overall, it's a quick read and in my opinion almost everybody can relate to the subject matter as it deals with issues such as habits, dealing with childhood trauma, motherhood issues, balancing work and home life, etc.

This book is life changing, as if someone finally gave me a manual on how to do this life! Rachel is so positive and uplifting yet she calls you out and helps you to see how you are responsible for your own happiness. There are hard truths in this book but she is open with her trials and her journey. I have read several chapters more than once, some apply to me more than others and I have given copies as gifts to a number of the ladies in my tribe! I cannot wait until her next book comes out! She is truly inspiring!

I recommended and bought this for family and friends. I felt like she was my personal cheerleader and her words really touched my soul.

This is a great book. Once I started reading this book I didn’t want to put the book down until the end. I can’t wait to read then next book by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I really liked parts of this book it's very in powering but other parts of the book dragged on forever and a day and other parts when way to in defend about her sex life I mean I do understand why she talked about it but that felt like the section on the book went on forever.

A fun read, I took a risk on a unknown.. Based solely on my intense love of the book "Furiously Happy" it was enjoyable and some ideas stayed with me.

I can't recommend this book highly enough! Rachel writes in a loving, no holds barred manner to remind readers that life is meant to be lived, experienced with passion, not trudged through. She admits that she isn't perfect and makes no apology for it.
Each chapter is titled after a lie we tell ourself, her response to it and steps she took it is taking to overcome that lie/habit.
Rachel's enthusiasm is infectious, her wit is sharp and this book has more passages highlighted then any other book that I have read. This is a book that I can see myself re-read and, quite possibly, discovering new tidbits that may not have been as applicable to my life previously.
I received an Advance Review Copy of this book from the author's launch team and netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.com and the publisher, Thomas Nelson, in exchange for my honest review. Thanks to both for the opportunity.

Mrs. Hollis has written a timely reminder that no one is perfect, least of all her. Social media swarms with "perfect" shots of people looking fabulous and doing wonderful things. As women, we can be hard on ourselves to match that level, as false as it is. No one can live up to a fantasy where nothing is real.

'Girl Wash Your Face' is filled with stories that will uplift the weary soul. Some are funny, some are sad; all are a reminder that only God is perfect and we can get through the day with His Grace.

I loved this book.

Hollis writes in a n honest, forthcoming manner, drawing the reader in and making you feel like you're sitting next to her on her living room sofa. She's a cheerleader, encouraging the reader... but also is tough as nails at times. Her real-life experiences open up dialogue that prompts the reader to realize how to capitalize on her own dreams. Would highly recommend this book to someone struggling to find their place!
