I loved the illustration. But as for the story, I am totally lost.
Seeing some people loving this book, I'm pretty sure the problem is with me.
This book is just not for me. I really don't get it. I don't know what is it about.

But, thank you NetGalley for the providing the review copy :)

Excellently organized and entertaining. A real winner for the publisher and the reader.

'Forget my name' with story and art by Zerocalcare is a family story told with humans and animals. After finishing it, that decision sort of made sense.

Zerocalcare lives near Rebibbia prison near Rome with his mother and near his grandmother. After his grandmother's death, he cleans her apartment. He discovers secrets about her life before she lived in Rebibbia. At her funeral, a whole host of strange people show up to bid her farewell, each calling her a different name. Zerocalcare examines his own life and the fragile nature of what we call family.

This feels like a true story (without the talking chickens and foxes, of course). I like this story about never really knowing those who are close to us. Also, the innocence of childhood. The art is kind of fun. The story is pretty great.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Europe Comics and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

It was a bit odd and hard to get into. I was really confused about what it was about and where it was going.

Plus, he went to the zoo, but then all of his family were birds and he hung out with an armadillo.

I don’t know. Am I getting old? Or was there just something lost in translation?

I did like the art. Especially the very dark dream-like stuff. But the writing just didn’t keep me going. I think the author was really pouring his heart out. But I couldn’t really relate. And I just couldn’t connect.

So, was the zoo actually <spoiler>a prison</spoiler>?

<i>Thanks to NetGalley and Europe Comics for a copy in return for an honest review.</i>

DNF at 13% - really not my thing at all, with unappealing art, over-fragmentary narrative, and too many weird animal characters. How other people have given this high ratings, the mind boggles.

I love Zerocalcare and was curious to read it in English. Compliments to the translator that was able to translate the jokes in English.
As for the rest, a very good story with good drawings.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Europe Comics

Could not read. Error message received when I tried to download the PDF. This is the first problem I've had with the newer format.
