4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

For me, Kylie Scott is one of those authors that just sneaks up on you. While she is a favorite of mine, I admittedly don't follow her too closely. I know, I know. It's just that with all the authors out there, sometimes some just fall back and get lost amongst the fray of the over advertised and highly promoted authors. Not that Ms. Scott isn't promoted well. It's just I don't always see her promotions. Then out of the blue I see a sign up for the release of Chaser. I'm so glad I didn't miss it because I loved the previous two books. Actually, I've liked everything I've read by her and vow to be more diligent in <s>stalking</s>, I mean following Kylie in the future.
Eric intrigued as well as annoyed me in Twist. He came off so douchey. Kylie totally had her work cut out for her turning his character around in my eyes. Boy, did she ever. I don't know what it was exactly but his interactions with Ada totally melted my heart. I was a goner.
Jean was harder to read. It was hard to connect with her since we don't get her POV. I liked her well enough. I just never felt a connection with her.
This was a great read that was low on drama but high on the sweetness factor.

Eric thought he was happy with his life until his friends started pointing out how childish he was. He wanted to prove them wrong. He was looking to start a relationship the only problem with that was everyone knew he was good for a good time but that's it.

When he sees Jean he can't help but start hitting on her, he actually starts to like her attitude and sass. THEN he sees that she's pregnant.

Eric had a lot of growing up to do, his friends were right and he realized it. When he decided to be friends with Jean and be there for her he actually took it serious. I loved watching the transformation of Eric. Loved hearing it from his POV.

Then little Ada made an appearance and oh my goodness I fell in love even harder with Eric!

I was laughing throughout the book, smiling and shaking my head. I felt like I was right there with them watching this relationship blossom and grow.

Kylie Scott is still very new to me. This marks only my third title from her but I have loved every word I've read. There was just something about Chaser that had me smiling on every page.

I'll admit Eric wasn't my favorite person going into this book. I found him irresponsible and childish but at least he owned it. But oh how he redeemed himself. And all it took was one happy baby and her beautiful mother, Jean. I liked the mystery surrounding Jean. Strolling into town and most of the gang already knew her and her situation. Eric was drawn to her beauty but the baby thing scared him. However, there was something about Jean that he just couldn't seem to get out of his head.

I loved watching the dynamic of their relationship change. Especially after baby Ada arrived on the scene (and what an entrance she made!). From strangers to acquaintances to friends to more. The progression of Jean and Eric's relationship was gradual and I savored every moment of their slow burn. Especially when Jean concocted her "idea" that changed things between her and Eric even more.

Every page of Chaser was a new something new to savor for both of them. I will say that Nell about got on my last nerve but not nearly as much as Jean's parents. Ugh- they were the worst! Thankfully Eric was there to keep the peace and Jean helped ground him. These two shouldn't have made sense. Shouldn't have worked but Kylie Scott worked her magic and somehow it just did.

Oh my, I think Eric might be my favorite. It's safe to say I loved this book and I completely devoured it.

It was so sweet to see Eric change in front of my eyes. I hated the fact that everyone was so hard on him but they did have sort of a point and he realized it too. I loved that he wanted to change and become a better man, and I loved watching him try to do it in a blink of an eye, But change like that needs a bit more time than that, specially to make it real for people around you. And finding someone - the right someone- to let you be their boyfriend takes a little bit of time too, even though she was right in front of his eyes and he knew it from the first moment he saw her.

I thought it was sweet that Eric did the right thing with Jean. He didn't want to make her life more complicated or risk breaking her heart so he did an even more amazing thing; he became her friend and he helped he with whatever she needed, specially looking after her little bundle of joy.

I loved watching him become that type of man and just seeing how amazing he was with them. It was so easy to fall for Eric - Jean and I are proof of that.

Pick this one up, you won't regret it. It's a sweet sweet one that will warm your heart, put a smile on your face and provide you an excellent couple of hours. Trust me.

This was a sweet and fun read. I’m new to the Dive Bar series so those of you that haven’t read any of the other books in the series, like me, this is a complete standalone. Yes characters from previous books make an appearance, but it doesn’t take away from the story of Eric & Jean.

Eric is a partner in the ownership of the Dive Bar. He’s single and man does he like to mingle. He gets a lot of crap about it from everyone he knows and everyone he doesn’t know. He always has but lately it’s starting to bother him. He’s a sexy man, he’s got a lot going for him, and he’s smart. But he likes the attention, so what. Eric is kind and willing to do anything to help you out. Maybe it’s time for a break from the sex life for a bit, he’s thinking. So when a new single woman comes to town, umm hello, Eric is there to welcome her.

Jean is moving from Florida to start a new life, escape from the claws and disappointment she’s caused her family. She’s met a friend online that has helped her overcome some things and invited her to move to Nell’s town. Her first stop in town is the Dive Bar, where Nell works, and her first encounter is with the sexy as sin bartender Eric Collins. But she isn’t here for love, she’s starting over with a new life. So when she stands up to greet her friend Nell, Eric gets the first glimpse at her rocking 7 month pregnant belly. So will this deter Eric’s attraction to Jean or will he skip out and get back to mingling?

This story is about finding love when you at least expect it. It’s finding your happiness, your soul, and it’s a story about being yourself even when everyone else may be against you. It is predictable but I still liked it. The chemistry and sweetness was nice and overall I really enjoyed this book and enjoyed an all male POV 😇

I loved Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series. Even though I didn't love book one in this series, I still wanted to give this one a try. It didn't win me over. I didn't know that this book was told only in Eric's POV. I would have loved to see how Jean was feeling. Especially when it came towards her feeling towards Eric.

To be honest, I found this book to be quite boring. I liked the relationship between Eric and Jean. However, I never felt anything but friendship vibes from them. There wasn't any sparks or funny banter that I look forward to in my books. Also, I hated the way those around Eric wouldn't give him a break and take him trying to change honestly, especially Nell!

All in all, it was an okay read for me. Nothing that I will reach for again.

Poor Eric, he's such a manwhore and wants to change his ways. Jean catches his eye until she stands up and reveals a surprise. We watched him become an instant birth partner with hilarious results. I loved his interactions with this little girl, we watched him grow up and take responsibility. Will his friendship with Jean become more? I enjoyed watching this story unfold, it started slow then took off and I couldn't put it down. Well done Ms Scott, another entertaining read.

I loved the story Kylie Scott gave us for Eric. Because past Eric was an immature manwhore. He had a lot of growing up to do that he wasn't even conscious of. But this storyline brought out the very best in Eric. Thankfully he was fully redeemed.

Eric and Jean's story is a beautiful slow burn. The pacing was pretty perfect. I loved the building of Jean and Eric's (and Ada's) friendship. I loved watching Eric mature. I loved his doting on Ada. The story is told from Eric's POV and it was great. Nell was completely obnoxious, but I guess not everyone can be great. Otherwise, the whole Dive Bar gang (and some special guests) rounded out this lovefest.

Eric and Jean's story was so sweet. I fell in love with them and their little family with Ada. Kylie Scott captured them beautifully.

Chaser was an ok red for me. Call me old fashioned, but I am not a big fan of the lead characters being pregnant, especially with another man's baby. t takes away from the love story for me. For that reason alone, I could not get into this book.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley for an honest review.

Yes, it is finally Eric’s story. Eric is Joe’s brother and if you read Dirty or Twist you are sure to remember him. I am so ready to see him redeemed not sure if that is possible but if it can be done Kylie will do it. I wasn’t sure about Eric when I read Dirty and Twist I mean yes he is easy going, an all about me kind of guy and a manwhore. However, I stilled wanted to see if he would be the same kind of guy when he was finally face to face with his one. I could not wait for him to meet his match and settle down. Then again maybe he would always be this way but man I hoped I was right on this.

Eric is getting it from all angles. His care free attitude toward woman is causing his friends who are beginning to settle down to come down on him hard. He decides he is going to give the stick with one girl thing a try. He happens to choose a new face that walked into the bar only thing is he didn’t realize he was getting a little more than he bargained for when he set his eyes on Jean.

Jean came to Coeur D’Alene so she could make a new start for herself and her baby. She meets Eric at the bar where he attempts to hit on her. This only causes a bit of friction because Jean just happens to be Nell’s online friend. I loved Jean she was so sweet. The instant chemistry between Jena and Eric was amazing. Even with that instant chemistry Eric decides to back off and go the friend route when he finds out she is pregnant.

I fell harder for Eric when he was reading the baby books to be able to help Jean when she needed him. I absolutely loved seeing this side of Eric. Seeing Eric and Jean baby bonding was so heartwarming. Being able to see the Stage Dive guys at the party was great, oh Mal you never let me down for a good laugh.

I have always enjoyed reading books by Kylie Scott and Chaser was no different.

Chaser was a fun, sexy and entertaining read. It is an easy read, meaning not a lot of angst in this story. Which I find a refreshing change of pace once and awhile.

Chaser is the third book in Kylie’s Dive Bar Series. It can be read as a complete standalone and can be read in any order. I don’t feel reading this series out of order would ruin the enjoyment of the stories. This story is told solely from Eric’s POV, which I think is a good way of telling this story. Since the main focus in this book is on Eric’s growth and being a better person, I felt this story could only be told through his eyes. I thought the flow and pace of the story was spot on. I didn’t feel anything dragged on and nothing was rushed. This is truly a slow burn!! But it worked for this couple because each of the characters needed to grow before finding love.

Chaser is about Eric (Joe’s brother and co-owner of the Dive Bar) and Jean. Eric is known to his friends and family as a player and not one to settle down. That is until he meets Jean. Jean is new to town and trying to get settled in. Eric has his eyes on Jean until he sees that she didn’t move into town alone. Jean is very pregnant. So setting his sites on Jean has changed but he is determined to be Jean’s friend and help her along the way. He is also determined to prove his friends and family that he isn’t all about the love em and leave em way. Over the course of the story we watch Jean and Eric form the sweetest friendship. He also bonds with Ada (Jean’s newborn daughter) I loved watching him grow and become the man he wanted to be. I thought the connection between Jean and Eric was relatable and perfect!!!

We do see other couples from the other books in this story as well as other side characters. I loved catching up with other couples in this story. I do have to say I really didn’t like Nell in this story. For being someone’s friend she was pretty cruel to Eric at times and I wanted to smack her, but I was glad to see things sort of changed by the end.

So if you are a fan of Kylie Scott’s books or are just looking for that fun and entertaining read, then you should read this book.

I loved this story of Eric the bad boy that wasn't all that bad.  The growth of his character throughout the book really made it great.  He faced some odds, especially from his "friends" but, his resilience and positive attitude never seemed to waiver.  Jean was sweet and mature for such a young woman.  Her strength of character really endured her to me.

My absolute favorite part of this book hands down was the interaction between Eric and Ada.  I love when kids are written into stories but, I hate when they are more an afterthought or just there as a plot twist.  When it's written right they can be the shinning stars in the book.  Kyle one hundred percent wrote it right.  Ada was the focal point of this book, she had personality, and really carried the storyline.  When her and Eric were together it was pure beauty.

This book had it's fair share of ups and downs but, they were all true to life issues.  There was no angst or over the top eye-roll moments for me it was just a well written storyline that flowed from start to finish.

I'm one of those people who read series out of order so this is the first book in the series I have read but, it was so well done that I will absolutely be going back to read the first two, and soon.

Eric is the bad boy brother of Joe from the last book in The Dive Bar series. He's arrogant, hot, and can't seem to keep it in his pants. That is, until Jean walks into his bar and it's pretty much insta-lust on Eric's end, at least until he realizes Jean is pregnant.

Eric was not really a likeable character in the first two books in this series. He does get more fleshed out in this book and we find out what's going on in his pretty head. We find out that he is honest, loyal, and smarter than he first seemed. He won me over and I fell in love with his sense of humor. The story was told from Eric's point of view, which was also different from the other books.

Eric and Jean left me equal parts swooning and laughing and I loved getting to know this couple!

You know, I wasn't sure if I'd like Eric after the previous books in this series because he always seemed dickish. But after reading Chaser, I'll give him some credit. He's definitely got the sweetest heart of the bunch, and he's not nefarious or an ass like I thought he might be. If anything, he was just a bit aimless and shallow. He needed something other than himself to focus on which came in the form of Jean and then Jean + Ada.

Over the course of their friendship. Friends with benefits. Denials of feelings. Acknowledging of feelings, Eric went from a guy who was so funny and awkward around women to this really funny, sweet, less awkward version of himself. And while we never get Jean's take on his transformation, I definitely got the impression that she thought he was so much more than Nell ever wanted to give him credit for. I could sense her amusement, adoration, and appreciation on every page.

Another fun Kylie Scott novel--a really great mix of lighthearted fun and sweet romance that blends friends to lovers and single parent tropes into a great read. Here's to hoping Andre rounds out this series?!?!

3.5 stars

I have been a fan of Kylie Scott since I discovered her Stage Dive series. And, although this is a spin off, it's nothing like it. The Dive Bar series is a little lighter with a different kind of emotion.

Eric and Jean were great together. Their banter was fantastic and I love the way Eric accepts Jean as part of the "family" right away. Despite the obstacles that they face, he steps up to be her friend and protector. I loved all the characters and I enjoyed seeing some old friends. If you've read the previous books, you've met Nell. And while she isn't a main character in this book she is around quite a bit and did not love her in this one. In fact, I found her to be slap worthy. She was not at all likable, and I don't think she was meant to be. She tried to redeem herself in the end but it was too little too late for me.

The story flowed pretty well and there was little to no drama, but something was off for me. I can't really put my finger on what it was but for some reason I didn't love it as much as I had hoped. I found myself at times trying to rush the story along and I don't remember ever having that feeling with Kylie Scott before. Having said that, I am looking forward to the next book and remain a big fan of this author.

This book was brilliant, I didnt expect to like it as much as I did. I frankly found Eric to be a self absorbed, womanizing arsehole but how wrong could I be. Yes Eric a great looking man and has a gift of the gab with the ladies but Chaser sees him hit a wall and its in the shape of 2 little ladies.

When Jean walks into Dive Bar you dont expect to her to knock Eric's socks off but that is exactly what she does. This story is fraught with troubles and people interfering but when trouble strikes in a screaming bundle of joy called Ada. Eric steps up and knocks the world around him on their arses. This was when I truly fell in love with Eric.

This book is in much the same vein as the other books and the supporting casts input is just as important in the way this book goes. There is a hell of a lot of shouting. Interfering and judging in this book and I kind of feel for Eric if I am honest. I am so pleased that Jean stands up for him. The pair of them spend the majority of this book in a state of denial. Which makes for a great read.

I laughed and smiled heaps through this book, Stage Dive Again make a great cameo. This book is fantastic and a huge recommend from me.

(Review as it will be seen on my blog on release week)

Oh my Oh my... This was so sweet. I was not expecting that on a book on immature and self-absorbed Eric! 🤣

And so this was slightly different than I was expecting...in a good way of-course.

I am very much in love with Kylie Scott's writing (as you all know by now). I love the sassy characters, the funny stories, the romance, the beautiful friendships...

Chaser was different in the sense that the humour was not as present as in the other books; and although all our beloved characters (including the Stage Dive members) make an appearance, it is mostly focused on Eric, there was a little less of the other bar members than usual (or that is how I felt anyway). That was not a bad thing at all though, I have zero complaints. It was another masterpiece by Kylie Scott!

Here is the blurb for you guys:

Given his well-earned bad boy reputation, Eric is having a tough time scoring. When single Jean moves to town, she seems heaven sent by the sex gods. Only problem is, she not only wants nothing to do with him, but it turns out that she's pregnant.

Starting over in a small town, Jean is determined to turn her wild lifestyle around and be the kind of mother she always wished she'd had. Since local bar owner and all round hottie, Eric Collins, is now determined to steer clear of her pregnant self, it should be easy. When she goes into labour during a snow storm and her car slides on some ice, it's Eric who comes to the rescue.

There seems to be a bond between them now, but is it enough? And can Eric give up his manwhore ways to be the man Jean needs?

Jean was an easy to like main character, though I felt Eric had a stronger page presence than she did. We didn't get to know much of her, enough to like her, not enough to love her.

Eric on the other hand...

Boy that man went through some amazing character growth through the story. It was impressive and really well written. At the beginning his friends are giving him a hard time for being unreliable and irresponsible, and the way he goes about trying to prove them wrong is both funny and face-palm worthy. I had to laugh.

His growth didn't happen overnight, it happened slowly and without him even noticing it was happening. He transformed from bad boy manwhore to the most caring and loving guy in the whole series. He starts putting Jean and the baby ahead of his own feelings without even having to think about it, naturally and willingly. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!

I dare you not to fall in love with him! Go on...try! 😉

Chaser was fantastic, the story was brilliant and the characters unique! If you have read this series before, you have already met Eric!I was so excited to read his book and see what Kylie has for him. Chaser is a romantic, sweet and funny story!

description

Kylie Scott did an amazing job with this one and especially with Eric's POV since the book is all in his point of view!I loved that Eric in the end he isn't the manwhore that everyone think! I loved that he grows up through the story! We can see how sweet, funny and lovely hero he is!The only reason this isn't a 5 stars is because the heroine wasn't as strong as I like my heroines in books but still this didn't make me not to enjoy the book!

Overall, it was a heartwarming story with one of the best male POVs I have ever read! This series is a must read you should definitely read them!

Honestly, I do not like the cover. It just doesn't work for me. The title is lost in the picture and the couple is not what I had expected. But as the saying goes, you should never judge a book by its cover and I really enjoyed Chaser. The story has an authentic feel. The relationship progression is well developed. It's easy to find yourself engulfed in the story.

Chaser is the third book in the series. It's Eric's turn to move past his man whore image and settle down. Surprisingly, he finds himself chasing after a single pregnant woman. Jean Antal has moved to start a new life. She making new friends including her neighbor Eric Collins. He had tried to stay away after he had jumped in as Jean's birthing partner but his heart had other ideas.

Chaser is a sweet, heartwarming story. The story captured my attention right from the beginning. 5 Stars!
