I am no longer interested in reading this book. I find my reading tastes are changing and I'm therefore becoming pickier about the titles I pick up.

Thank you for providing me with a copy

At last a book with a strong female lead that doesn’t need rescuing. I loved this book and the writing style was brilliant.

Sarah goes in search of a story to get her job as a journalist instead of writing the beauty pages, but is teamed with Nick the sleazy photographer, spanning across Europe on the hunt for a missing rock star and to bust a drug cartel, I could smell and picture the cities so well.

A great book with plenty of twists.

The solving of a mystery in various European cities made this book more interesting than a lot of chick lit. However, I found the main character quite annoying, and her increasingly stupid decisions in ever-escalating ridiculous situations made me cringe. Not to mention the incredibly predictable romantic aspect.

This is a pleasant enough holiday read. The main character is unbelievably naïve and the decisions she makes along the way border on ridiculous. However, the story moves at pace with an interesting backdrop of European cities. The ending is interesting, perhaps setting up for a sequel/series??

A light easy read, perfect for the beach! The characters are likeable and the plot flows well. I would recommend this as a holiday read to any chick lit fans

This was probably more like 3.5 stars but it was an enjoyable enough way to while away a few hours. I enjoyed the chemistry between Sarah and Nick most of all and would have liked some closure on what happened when they got back to Australia. My biggest bugbear with the book was the idiotic decisions Sarah kept making without any real consequences it was just unrealistic. That being said I enjoyed the book enough to read more from this author in the future. Thanks to Netgalley, Pantera Press and the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for an honest review. The story is about Sarah who is a journalist, she has just broken up with her boyfriend, she manages to persuade her boss to send her a trip to pursue a rock star who is on the run. With her is Nick the photographer, the have a 'Past' together. The story begins in Australia but goes across Europe. The bok is an easy read, in parts it is a little far fetched but still and enjoyable read.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book for review consideration. Unfortunately I found that it wasn't for me and as such I won't be formally reviewing it.

This is an average rom-com. The main character, Sarah, isn't particularly likeable and I found myself constantly irritated by her annoying decisions.
It was a real struggle to finish this book and I only continued as Netgalley had provided me with a free copy.

Hot Pursuit centers on Sarah, a 30-year-old beauty therapist, whose boyfriend of two years suddenly bailed on her leaving her with the mortgage on their house. At Women's Choice, where she works, she wants more responsibilities but her boss has refused to give her more than her weekly beauty column. Besides, Sarah knows nothing about celebrities.

Following a tip-off from a friend at Law Enforcement, Sarah's boss, Katrina asks her to look for journalists who would be willing to travel to Europe to cover a celebrity scandal. A musician is on the run after his band member is found dead. Turns out the celebrity in question is the same guy she met at a bar the weekend before. Desperate for this job and hopefully a career boost, she persuades her boss to let her do the story. Her boss finally gives in and sends her to Europe with Nick, her colleague and the magazine's photographer.

We follow Sarah on her journey to Europe as they travel from Barcelona to Paris and Amsterdam following leads, their encounter with shady people, and even losing her personal effects—passport and laptop—following a hit-and-run.

Hot Pursuit is an entertaining novel, filled with interesting and quirky characters and an interesting storyline. Sarah as the main character was well developed and relatable. Nick was just plain annoying but I warmed up to him as the book progressed. Overall a good read, and I highly recommend.

I received this book from NetGalley and Pantera Press in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an easy to read rom com, some of the story was a little far fetched but an easy summer read while sat by the pool.

I read Hot Pursuit by Rebecca Freedom courtesy of NetGalley. I struggled for the most part with this book particularly with the main character Sarah who is an ex-beautician working in a lowly position in a celebrity magazine with aspirations to be a journalist but who somehow knows nothing of the celebrity world - her personal life is not going well either. I thought her character in particular aggravating and too over the top. For me the storylines throughout were a tad unbelievable and improbable. Fell short of my hopes and expectations I'm sorry to say.

If you’re looking for that perfect summer holiday getaway read I can highly recommend Rebecca Freeborn’s Hot Pursuit.
A book spanning different countries, a race against time to crack the truth of a missing (presumed dead) Indy band member, a heart broken girl and her former one night stand photographer working together on her first case as a journalist – what could possibly go wrong?
Sarah Burrowes is a kick ass chick who comes across as a determined, fearless woman who isn’t afraid of working to get what she wants. She want take rubbish from her womanising photographer, and gives as good as she gets from those trying to stop her from getting to the truth of her case. She is the perfect lead female character for this story and you’ll love her from the first page to the last.
The story is fast paced with many twists and turns right until the end – but Sarah is always at the very heart of the novel and we are reminded throughout of her vulnerability as well with the involvement of her now ex-boyfriend James.
The banter between Sarah and her photographer Nick is funny and also a wonderful look at the dynamic the 2 of them have – I couldn’t wait to see what would happen there.
Honestly grab this book now for your holiday bag, you won’t be disappointed.

Loved the intricated story that is solved throughout the book. I start the book waiting for her to end with the rockstar, so I’m waiting for a common sweet kind of story. So for much of my surprise in the second and third chapters I’m hooked on the story and it’s nothing of what I was expecting. It’s a surprisingly a great story with a good criminal mystery involved that doesn’t get solved until the very end. Nonetheless, it also has the main character love life exposed and her doubts about with who should she be. I loved the story and recommend it to everyone who likes a bit of mystery and romance. I would have liked an end with a few more pages to be able to see more into the future of the character but loved it anyway.

An enjoyable book to read. Nice characters and a storyline that while at times seemed so ridiculous, was enjoyable to read.

This was a typical Rom Com, ‘read on the beach’ type of book. I read it in approximately 3 hours, in one sitting. It’s got all the hallmarks of a standard romcom, a little bit of humour and a little bit of darkness and the guy gets the girl in the end .
Not much else to report.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

This one was just a miss for me I couldn’t get into the story line or characters I would try this author but I didn’t enjoy this one. I feel Iike I didn’t even retain it because my mind was wandering but she definitely has potential!

A beauty therapist turned journalist lands a bog scoop by deceiving her boss and sets off from Melbourne to Australia to chase the news. Add in a broken heart and sexual flirtations in spite of this and you get an idea of what this book might be like. The characters were unlikeable - to be fair unbelievable in their actions and the plot thin. It is frankly asking you to suspend disbelief that someone who has worked in journalism for 8 years in a gossip magazine doesn't know popular band members. But this is not the only leap in faith you have to take can someone supposedly intelligent enough to graduate from university really not understand technology? Can they really take the number of stupid decisions that this girl took? The author gives the reader no credit for their intelligence in this frankly ridiculous narrative. This book was just not for me.

I tried my best to get into Hot Pursuit but it was so far fetched I finally gave up. I didn't really understand the beauty therapist/ journalist aspect of the character who came across as quite ditzy- felt I knew exactly what was going to happen after the 1st chapter!

A light but twisty and fun read - perfect for a holiday. Lots of humour, bendy plot hijinks and suspense - if you like chick-lit with a side of darkness, then this should be right up your street.
