In ‘One Way or Another’ we meet Calder Benedict. Calder is one of the Benedict sisters. The Benedict sisters come from a lot of money, but they all work hard too and aren’t spoiled or anything. Calder works hard for her charity and is very successful. But the thing Calder isn’t successful in is finding a nice man. But when Calder meets Adam Stone things finally seem to look up for her. Adam is hardworking and doesn’t seem to be interested in Calder’s money at all.

From the moment I started reading this book I wanted to keep on reading. I was just so curious what would happen next. And this was definitely something due to the writing because this book was really not for me. For starters the characters just didn’t really spark my interest. The Benedict sisters where four sisters, one twin. And they all have different fathers. Yes, four different fathers even with the twins. Well.. I know this can happen, there’s a very small change of this happening though and this was just a little to much.

The romance between Calder and Adam was just something I couldn’t feel. I didn’t feel their chemistry. And for someone who has trouble trusting people, it seemed to me Calder trusted Adam very fast. I just didn’t really believed there romance, and I really wished I did. I just missed that butterflies in my tummy feeling a good romance novel makes me feel.

What I also didn’t really get was that book cover. It just doesn’t seem to fit this book if you ask me. The Benedict sisters are rich New York woman, and Adam supposedly only wears very nice clothes. That cover makes me think of a sweet country read, the opposite of what this book was really.

Like I said earlier, the writing in this book is good because it still made me want to keep on reading. I just wanted to know what was going to happen. But this book wasn’t for me.

At over 50% of this book we're still finding out all about her sisters which will have their own books, the one intimate scene so far was skimmed and the writing is just boring me. The description and other reviews have had me hanging on this long, trying to make it to the end but this is a DNF for me.

This book was Calder's story she is one of four sisters who each will be getting their own book I just loved the relationship and banter between the girls although from a wealthy family they are all likable and down to earth. She and Adam were opposites and although there was an attraction between them you would not think they would work together but right from the first meeting you kinda get that these two are perfect for each other. This is a great start to the series.

I loved this book. The book was mainly about Calder and Adam. Calder had three sisters by a very flighty mom who had been married and divorced 6 times. The only reason they all had their considerable fortune still was the grandfather who left everyone money thought only men should control things. The girls would get their trust when they turned 30, but the family money could only be controlled by a male heir (of which there was not one yet). Adam and Calder were raised very different but the sparks flew between them. The girls had a wonderful relationship with each other, but tolerated their fathers (4 different ones) and their mother. I can't wait to follow up with the next book in the series.

I received an advanced copy for an honest review.
Great story about the bond of 4 sisters dealing with a headache of a mother nd a variety of fathers. In their rich lifestyle they do not shy away from the belief in real love.
The focus of the story is on Calder and Adam. Two people drawn to each other, an lost love at first sight story. Their are mishaps and adventures, sexy scenes and everyday talk. A really good story, and I look forward to more stories about the sisters and whether or not they find their true loves too.

Mary J Williams has a corker of a series emerging centred about a feisty quartet of sisters. The first of the series, focuses on Calder Benedict who is a hardworking and committed leader of a charity.

I enjoyed the pace of the novel, the descriptions of the sisters' interactions, and the well-roundedness of Adam, the ex military fixer ( in a good way) who is Calder's love interest. You've got to love a man who adores his mother!

My only very minor criticism is sometimes the sentence structure took a while to get used to. it was largely confined to opening sentences of paragraphs in the beginning of the book, but they slowed the pace of reading while I mulled on meaning.

I am waiting for next in the series, these Benedict women are all so different, and I am looking forward to whatever Mary J Williams has in store.

Loved the book. The first book in the new series about the 4 Benedict sisters Calder, Bryce, Aldi and Destry. The story of Calder and Adam is fun and witty. Held my interest throughout the story. Story is about strong and witty Calder finding her other half Adam who is also strong and understanding. Absolute delight to get to know all the four Benedict sisters, Mrs F and Adam.

Enjoyable read. Even with all the drama in this book it was still a cute fun story. The inevitable fact that opposites attract is a huge factor in this story. Calder & Adam couldn’t be more different but that difference is what attracts each other. Both are strong, steady & successful in their fields & the Chance meeting outside a club starts it all. With a few setbacks & a deliberate set up they muddle their way through the trouble brewing to find the secure relationship neither thought they’d ever have. Recommend this book.

Calder Benedict was one of the four Benedict sisters who each had the same mother but a different dad. Even her twin, had a different father. She was rich but not spoiled. All she really wanted was to be loved but she really didn't believe it was possible but she didn't believe she could ever trust a man with her heart. That was true until she met Adam Stone.

Adam hadn't been born into money but he was a successful businessman and he had never been in love. He had never wanted that for himself of believed it was possible until he met Calder and she made him want a forever kind of love. She got under his skin and checked off all the right boxes. Even though she was rich, she was down to earth in so many ways. They fit perfectly and he was protective of her, and she was a calming force that he sometimes needed.

This was a beautiful love story. There were some f-bombs, which I don't really like and there were sex scenes that mostly faded to black, which I appreciated. The story was well written and helped the reader connect to the characters. I loved the connection that was built between the Benedict sisters and between Adam and his mother and closest friends.

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very good contemporary romance. The background story ends in a cliffhanger, but the main story here ends in a HEA. This is one of those books with more emphasis on romance than sex. The sex scenes are not detailed, just alluded to. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Mary has delivered another wonderful story. The first in her new series we are introduced to four sisters. Growing up in one of the wealthiest families in New York, they have learned to depend on each other and have each other's backs. In this first story we meet Calder and Adam, and we follow them as they discover people with different backgrounds can find happiness together.

I originally received this book as an ARC through Book Funnel and this is my opinion of what I've read...

Each and every time I've read a novel by May J. Williams, I find myself surround by a dozen different emotions- which is why I like to read her books at least twice before I post my reviews. She writes stories of strong women and the men that love them. Ms. Williams did not disappoint this reader with this new sizzling series. It reminds me (in a way) of Nora Roberts. THIS is what readers of contemporary romance want-that spark and sizzle and how Ms. Williams make us fall in love with her characters and all of her books over and over again.

This is a NEW series about the 4 Benedict sisters, Calder, Bryce, Aldi and Destry. The relationship between Calder and Adam is panty melting HOT! To say that those two have sexual chemistry is putting it mildly! You'll want to grab a glass of ice water and a fan! The sisters have a close bond and this is very evident in the story.
Ps- I liked it so much that I bought my own copy!

I really liked this book. I loved the relationship of each sister and their different personalities. I can't wait to read more about each sister. Their mom was something else and I'm curious to see what happens in the end.

One of my favourite romantic authors at the moment. All the ingredients you need for a romantic read with likeable characters and a feel of comfort food but for your mind while reading. Any fan of romance stories can’t go wrong with this author or this story.

My first book by Mary J Williams and I am impressed. Have to say I totally loved this. It was smart and witty and held my interest the whole way through. What wonderful characters and storyline along with a few twists. Great strong women that I'm looking forward to reading more about in the following stories in the series.
