In the anthology are three stories of shifters from authors Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden, and Kate Baxter.

Bearing His Name

The most humorous of the three tales, Ark is a great big bear shifter who tells Jade, “I am not crazy, just Greek.” His loud, raucous family reminds me of My Big Fat Greek Wedding with all the cousins, aunts, and parents who “help” the couple out. Jade is new to the shifter world with a complicating factor that her sister is pregnant very possibly by Ark or one of his many cousins.

Owned By the Lion

Keir thinks he has found his mate in a woman whom he has known for years. The problem is Ally has seen Keir’s reputation firsthand as a ladies’ lion who has women after him and ex-girlfriends coming out of the woodwork at every turn. He has much work to do to convince Ally she is the one for him.

No Need Fur Love

Owen is the second in his pack that has just moved to a small, rural Idaho town. He brushed up against Mia in the local bar when he was sitting there feeling lonely. Mia is a wood nymph who is determined to get pregnant as a political maneuver before her father forces a mate on her. After their encounter, Mia does not realize that once a wolf finds his mate, he never lets her go. Owen is determined to track her down even if it means war between their kinds.

All three stories are a light read and will be enjoyed by fans of these authors. One of my favorite things about anthology is discovering new to me writers and their created worlds.

Bearing his name by Eve Langlais - 4 stars.
Intriguing and hot read. Twist caught me off guard.
Jade was the feisty girl with a strong mind and I really liked Her character.
Ark, when I got to know him better he was a Good one shifter with Alpha attitude

Owned by the Lion by Milly Taiden- 3 stars
Nothing Special, just ok read with shifters, misunderstandings, and HEA. Had potential for a lot more

No need fur love by Kate Baxter - 4 stars
Set in the world of Thanks fur the last night anthology -Characters from it are only mentioned. Owen was a character that kept me intrigued. And Mia - she's a wood nymph! That took me by surprise!

The Big Alpha in Town is a collection of three stories by Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden, and Kate Baxter. They were all fairly quick, light reads. There were some that I liked more than others.

Eve, of course, was my favorite—Bearing His Name. I want more books about this family of bears. This novella was the one that had me flipping pages to see what would happen next. I always enjoy the humor of her books and the unique characters and storylines she writes. If I could rate this book on its own, it would be an easy 5 stars.

Kate Baxter’s No Need Fur Love was a shifter romance with a twist. Not many shifter novels I’ve read include nymphs and the like, but I think her addition of this supernatural race was an asset. I didn’t like the heroine very much until the end. She was selfish and inconsiderate. The ending helped, but I kind of wanted more. The story read a little incomplete, and that may be due to it reading like a second book in a series. Kate is new to me, and I would be open to reading more of her books.

Milly Taiden’s Owned by the Lion was a little slow for me. I thought the story was good, but it dragged a little for me in some places. I loved the characters and their relationships, but I was a little lost after a while on who is who. I felt like I was dropped in the middle of the series. Still, the characters were well developed, and the writing was on point.

Overall, all these books were well written and fun.

4 Stars

The big alpha in town is three stories of shifters finding their mates. I'm not gonna lie... bearing his name and owned by a lion were a bit off for me. They are readable but I found that bearing his name was filled with too much detail but lacking more of a backstory. I feel it would make a great full length novel.

Owned by a lion was better but we were thrown right into Keir and Allys story. We know of Xander if you read thanks for last night but here Ally is a mystery and the hate she feels for Keir is just th were. We are are unaware of the chemistry between them. Then bam mate.

Then we have no need for love. We get a story of a werewolf finding his mate... a wood nymph. It was great to have something a bit different. It was enjoyable and you could actually connect to the characters and it was an interesting story. All in all okay and I did enjoy it.

Three sweet and sexy shifter tales from three terrific authors.
Bearing His Name by Eve Langlais – Bear shifter Ark meets his mate when she sends him a postcard informing him that his one night stand with her sister has resulted in a pregnancy. Ark is determined to prove that the baby isn’t his but that Jade is. This story is classic Langlais – funny, sexy and great.
Owned by the Lion by Milly Taiden – Lion shifter has a lot on his mind. His father is pushing for him to find a wife, settle down and come work with him. Ally has issues of her own. Her mom is ill, she’s moved to a new town and then there is this hot lion who has got her purring one minute and yowling the next. Fun, slightly angsty, totally sexy and terrific story.

No Need Fur Love by Kate Baxter – Wolf shifter Owen Courtney is feeling a little left out. His alpha has found his mate but they’ve moved to the Podunk town of Stanley, Idaho where the pickings are not great for the rest of the pack. He is happy for his alpha he just wants a bit of that happiness for himself. He is pouting in a bar when wood nymph Mia Oliver hits on him. She is looking for a good time with no strings. Owens wolf isn’t having any of that, he is claiming his mate. Mia is a smart and strong woman who is being held back by her father who wants her pregnant by any means necessary. This story took me by surprise in a good way. I totally enjoyed it.

The Big Alpha In Town is the short story sequel of Thanks Fur Last Night.
You`ll enjoy the three sexy and funny shifter short stories.

Bearing his Name by Eve Langlais

As Zeus hocked up with a cat woman at a Halloween party; he might have impregnated her.
Add throwing shoes, slammed doors and a angry `koukla` and you´ll get a fast paced mating story.

Owned By The Lion by Milly Taiden

A overgrown manwhore want`s to win a pissed-of Latina over.
His sneering and threatening former bombshells didn`t help much in this case.

No Need Fur Love by Kate Baxter

A well calculated one night stand turn`s out to be the challenge of her life.
A prey hunting wood nymph found herself torn between her independence
and growing attraction for an virile werewolf.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed all three stories but I have to say that No Need Fur Love was my favorite. I think it would have been great if the author could have expanded on this story. Bearing His Name was hilarious!! I was cracking up the whole story!! Owned By The Lion was just okay for me.

“Bearing His Name” by Eve Langlais
***** Five Stars!!! Jade’s sister Ruby is preggers (bun in the oven), and Jade wants the father to take responsibility and help her sister out. Unfortunately, Ruby doesn’t remember the handsome “God” that she went home with. It was Halloween and she was a sexy kitty picked up by “Zeus” at a party. So Jade sends out cards to the potential males that might have been the one that got her sister knocked up.
Ark decides to investigate this mysterious woman who has sent him and his cousins’ cards claiming that one of them got her sister pregnant. When Ark finally meets Jade, he finds she is his mate, problem is it is possible he got his sister pregnant! What a conundrum! I loved this one, my favorite from all three. It was funny and charming, and so darn cute!
Please! Please! Please! Where is Ruby’s story?? Or is it out already?
“Owned by the Lion” By Milly Taiden
*** 3 stars – Keir is a womanizing lion who has many fans running after him. He only wants Ally and he goes from being able to charm any woman to hitting a brick wall with Ally.
Ally is Keir’s mate, she is sweet, and charming but she isn’t just going to fall into bed with Keir like so many woman before her.
“No Need for Fur” by Kate Baxter
**** 4 stars – Owen is finally ready to settle down, he wants to find his mate and lucky him she walks right into the bar he is in and sits down next to him. Mia is looking for a one-night stand and she thinks that Owen is just the hunky man for the job, but once he starts spouting things about “mates” and “forever” she knows he is going to be a clinger. It helps that he is good in bed and leaves her breathless.
I voluntarily read this ARC provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review of No Need Fur Love

Loved it! This is my first Kate Baxter read and I’m pleasantly surprised. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick shifter novella.

Mia, a wood nymph, seems to secure her birthright by producing an heir. She doesn’t want strings attached, so imagine her surprise when she ends up mated to a werewolf following a one night stand!

It was sexy, fun, and action packed! I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Didn't love this one. All of the stories felt rushed to me. The slapstick humor of the first was very off putting to me. The second I felt like needed to have read the rest of the series because he start was confusing. The third was just a whirlwind rush.

I liked this trio of fun paranormal stories by these authors. They were quick and easy to read. These ladies have such great imaginations and somehow manage to make you feel like you can relate to the characters/stories even though you are human. The stories and characters grabbed me from the first one and I was engaged until the end. This is the way paranormal should be!

If you are in the mood for some shifter love than these three ladies usually deliver . This anthology has clearly shorter examples but still it’s a great way to sample their styles.
Bearing His Name
So what do you do when you meet your fated Mate only to be told you might be her sisters baby daddy? That’s the conundrum that Arc has to face when all he wants to do is lick honey off Jade. Expect fun, mayhem and of course someone with a rather hairy back !
Owned by the Lion
Hmm Keir meets his Mate only to realise that he’s known her family for years without actually meeting her before. Trouble is his womaniser ways are notorious and Ally isn’t one to put up or shut up ! My biggest niggle here is Keir is a lion shifter but never actually shifts .
No Need Fur Love
Yes I’ve read sexy Werewolf stories before but I don’t recall a Wood Nymph so kudos for giving readers something different with just enough angst and suspense to hold my interest.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

SHIFTER LOVE! Yep, I do enjoy feisty, butt-kicking shifters!

Bearing His Name - HA! Fated mates, an accidental pregnancy, and a bear with a one-track mind. LOVE IT. Honestly, Ark's family is INSANE in the best way and I dug them. Plus, he met his match in Jade. Even when there was a slight possibility he'd knocked up her sister, she was still drawn to him. Naturally, she fought it every step of the way. But when fate bites, you eventually just have to accept it, right?

Owned by the Lion - I had a REALLY hard time suspending disbelief that someone who knew Ally's mother as well as he did had NO CLUE she had another daughter. That kinda threw me. Plus, I was a little confused on some of the relationships between the characters. Maybe that's me, though. Because, you know, there was that whole "why didn't anybody tell me Arlene had another daughter?" thing.

No Need Fur Love - I'm always down with a werewolf finding love in unconventional places. Like with a nymph. A nymph who doesn't really understand the specifics of a werewolf's mate bond or how it will affect her in the long run. A nymph who has some sticky family dynamics she needs to deal with. What can I say? I like surly wolves and oversexed nymphs.

The Big Alpha in Town is a fabulous collection of incredibly entertaining and engaging stories by three literary goddesses. Each story wrapped itself inexorably around my heart and refused to let go. They threw me into a whirlwind of mystery, suspense, and good old-fashioned love. Nothing could tear me away from a story once I started reading it. My attention was completely captured by the incredible characters and outstanding plot, and my heart was lost from the very beginning. I cannot express my deep love and appreciation for each precious gift from these fantastic authors! You know when you have found the ultimate prize, and I have found that in these fantastic authors whose works of art both enthrall and delight. Their talent is tremendous, and they hold the gold standard in the romance industry.

It feels like I am finally able to breathe when I fall into their meticulously crafted worlds and surround myself with outstanding characters that steal my heart and a beautifully complex plot that gives me whiplash while trying to keep up. Each scintillating tale will evoke very different and yet very deeply felt emotions nonetheless. It doesn’t matter what these extraordinary talented ladies write because I will love it no matter what. Can you say that about your favorite authors?

Whatever you do DO NOT miss out on this exciting and awe-inspiring collection of wonderful romantic suspense! Run, drive, or race to get your hands on this fantastic collection. It will blow your mind and flood your heart with a depth of emotion that will shock you!

Bearing His Name, I thought it was a very funny short story. With the small exception of the stalker

"Owned by the Lion" by Milly Taiden.
I did enjoy but it was just ok. I did like the characters. and was glad to revisit them from a previous book."
the 3rd story, "No Need Fur Love", not really a fan. It was ok, but not great.

The Big Alpha In Town consists of these:

•quick but fun stories √
•OTT Alpha shifters √
•possessive shifters √
•steamy scenes √
•meeting their mates √
•steamy banters √
•sexual tension √
•fast-paced √
•great secondary characters √
So, basically all stories have that.

The fun in reading this is the journey these shifters's go through to convince their heroines that they are their "mates".

Imagine yourself having that surprise in your life.

A lot unrealistic yes, (Welcome to PNR, people!) but the point is, this is enjoyable if you are into stories like these. Which I am.

My favorite among the three stories will be from the first book, Bearing His Name by Eve Langlais. Why? I just like Ark. He's charming and quirky and his actions are a bit ridiculous, but in a charming way. Again, IMO.

Followed by Kate Baxter's No Need Fur Love, then Milly Taiden's Owned by The Lion.

All of theses are enjoyable if you are into reading insta-lust. Because we are talking about shifters here. And if you're just looking for a quick read and just to pass time, then this book is for you.

Three short, fun-filled, insta-lust, written by the authors known to bring steam on their books.
