I really enjoyed this!!! It was entertaining while also educational, the voice of which this was written is funny and leaves no room for boredom. I very much enjoyed the different sections of others’ experiences besides just the authors’, this came across as more authentic. I’m glad to have read this and learned more than I knew before.

This was such a breath of fresh air! A straightforward book like this has been long overdue. I love the authors witty writing and her humour shines through whilst also being informative! A read for every woman!

I loved this book! It was smart, informative and brilliantly written. I think it should be given out to all teenagers! Honestly, i can't recommend this book enough.

I dont know her as a youtuber and read this book on impulse and it exceeded my expectations.

I found the overall experience of reading this book to be enjoyable, with both plot and character elements that unfolded nicely and with forward momentum. While not the best book I have ever read, I would pass this title along to other readers and librarians.

Frank and accessible, this is the type of books teens need! I think most parents would appreciate this title as a way to get some information into their kids' hands but maybe avoiding some topics they aren't comfortable discussing. It will really resonate with kids who know the author from her social media posts.

I first want to thank Netgalley for giving me permission to read this title. The book was an amazing read. I think that I will most definitely be ordering this book to put on the shelves at our library. I believe that the teens will thoroughly enjoy it.

Hannah Witton is a youtuber who I have enjoyed watching for a while now, so when she brought out a book I was intrigued to read it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the topics discussed were real, raw and entertaining. It almost feels as if Hannah is talking to you, its written very much in her spoken style which means you can hear her voice in your head as you're reading.
This book brings a great access point to learning more about sex, sexuality, gender, periods, body image , and just growing up in general, especially for those who aren't provided with good quality sex/PHSE education.
It was honestly written and humorous at the same time and because of this it made you want to continue reading. Hannah doesn't shy away when writting this book and there are things within it that she had not mentioned within her youtube videos which added to the read.
It was a fast paced read and I would definitely recommend this book to others.
I'd like to thank netgalley and Hannah Witton for providing me with an ARC to read and review.

Wonderful resource for patrons. Can be a little quirky at times but sex can be a difficult topic to discuss with seriousness and let's face it, sometimes sex is quirky, too.

what an important read!
Hannah Witton opens up about sex education and the importance of knowing not only how to have safe sex but how to enjoy the sex that you want to have. I loved every minute of this read.

Hannah is a gem and she's so great at conveying information that is not necessary the most chill to others. I absolutely love her candor and tone during this; however, it read a little like a textbook.

If only this book had existed when I was a teenager! Oh, how different life could have been for me! I'm absolutely thrilled that resources like this will exist for the next generation- open, honest and full of joy, as opposed to guilt ridden and purely scientific in nature. I'm not a frequent YouTuber and am probably outside the market scope of Hannah's audience, but this book really did sit well with me. I'm older than Hannah and find myself with a lot more life experience, but her genuine approach, warm messages and heartfelt themes are wonderful and much needed for young people (and some older people too!)

I have watched Hannah on YouTube for quite a while and was quite excited to read this book by her. While I am a bit older than the target audience for this book I still really enjoyed it. I could feel Hannah's voice throughout the book, but I there was also a lot of very good information about relationships, sex, and other topics. I love that she invited other writers to talk about topics that weren't her expertise. Overall this was both informative and entertaining.

As a teen we had sex education in college. You know, putting a condom on a banana as a means of learning about the practice of protection etc. I was lucky enough to have a cool teacher who let us get everything off our chest at the beginning of Term 1. Everything humanly possible and of a teens mentality , was put out there. She would ask us to get all our filthy thoughts or words of our chest and then we were not to mention them again in class and was to take the class seriously. I found it downright hilarious and was the first one to speak up, mainly because the other children were either too shy or scared that this was a test and that they would get in trouble. First word that came out of my mouth was the F bomb followed by a class full of laughter and more people getting involved in the discussion. My Point is I believe it is highly imperative and beneficial that adolescents or teenagers as such or however you prefer to say it, should have open communication about this aspect of their life with an Adult. Sometimes, obviously it can be awkward for teens to have that conversation with their parents and the one thing they are more likely to turn to is an book or guide. What Hannah has done , has opened a door for these individuals to be able to better understand the inner workings of sex and all aspects regarding it. Perhaps even boosting their confidence to feel comfortable enough to have an discussion with their parents or ask them the odd question here and there about matters related to sex.
This is by far one of my longest reviews I have ever produced as I feel strongly on this matter. I have an almost teen boy and I hope he knows that I am more then happy to help him through that stage of his life when he reaches it. I know he is far from it though because he is level headed and that kind of stuff just downright scares him at this point.

Great novel and a definite must read especially for those who need some extra help in that department.

You may find my review on my blog at a later time as I am overloaded with so much stuff to do.. Congrats Hannah you have done an amazing job compiling essential content that is so very handy and that kids will be only to happy to utilise,

I got an ARC of this book.

I teach a sex ed class in the local county jail for the juvenile inmates. This book would not have held their attention in the slightest. The book is not bad, but unless you are a fan of her videos or her voice you may find it a bit basic. I enjoyed the book for the most part, I can't say I learned anything from it which is reassuring when it comes to teaching my own class, but also sad because I always hope to learn something when I read a book.

Witton is clearly up on her game when it comes to information about sex and relationships, but there was some information that was not entirely accurate for the US. One of those was getting paperwork results for STI tests. I have never received paper results. I have been tested in multiple states in the US and never gotten a single piece of paper. Witton explains that some places also use the internet to give results, but says that if you are positive then it says it right in the online screen. Every testing facility that I have used will not give you positive results online. They will make you call in to get those results so you can schedule treatment. The other issue I had with the testing section was the results in the US take drastically longer to get. Clinics say it takes weeks and going to my personal doctor takes at least a week. The few rapid tests are read in minutes, but most results take weeks even in cities like SF. So I am glad that the UK is doing great with getting results that quickly, but that is not how the US works. I only care that she didn't specify that there are differences in the countries because in the chapter that discusses sexting and age of consent, she does.

My next issue is the US prosecutes teenagers who sext as sex offenders and child pornographers. There is no community service or fine. It is registration for being a sex offender and prison time here. That is completely glossed over and made to look like everything will be ok, but be careful. In the US it is a huge deal and can ruin someone's life. So please, if you are under 18 do not take or send nude photos or send sexually explicit messages. If you partner is under the age of consent, it does not matter if their parents say it is ok. You can still be charged for statutory rape. Remember that I work in a law office and see these cases on a daily basis. When it doubt, don't do it.

The LGBTQ chapter was so underwhelming I am annoyed that it was included. I am impressed that Witton admitted to being straight and cis, while then going on to say that she interviewed people on the subject and allowed them to give the education. That was great. It is so rare that queer people are given a voice that I am happy it was handled this way. However, the chapter had no substance. Even at 14, the youngest age that the book is recommended for according to the introduction, none of that information would have been helpful to the baby queer that I was then. I am thankful that she tried, but it just fell flat for me.

The rest of the book was pretty tame, nothing glaringly wrong or shocking. The book read as very much a beginner guide to sex positive sex education for young teenagers. I could have done without the author giving me her break-up story that spanned through the whole book. That just felt masturbatory, pun intended. Overall, the book felt very weak. I have not watched her videos, but from the voice she uses in the book I can imagine that they are engaging and more helpful that this book was. Her voice was too big to be trapped to a medium that only had one expression. I can understand why she has fans and I hope that my voice is as engaging as hers when I am teaching.

Covers a broad range of topics involving sex and relationships in an easy to understand manner without undermining any of the topics.

Wow! Felt like a teenager talking to a teenager but in a great way! This book should be mandatory in public school sex ed classes! Absolutely amazing! Thank you netgalley for the free arc in exchange for an honest review!

A good sex education guide for teenagers. The guide can be used by parents or by teenagers. Hannah explains easily the main topics and she added reference to additional resources as websites and books.

A sex positive book written in a frank, humorous and informative style that young adults will relate to. The first person narratives help add diverse voices to the book. I would have found a book like this valuable when I was growing up and will buy it for children. Thanks to Hannah Witton for this important book for teens and sourcebook fires and netgalley for the advanced ARC.

Witton has crafted a relatable, humorous, and informative take on all things pertaining to sex. This guide is aimed toward teens, but pulls no punches when it comes to being frank and open about things like masturbation, porn, fetishes, etc. Witton uses this platform to advocate for better sex education, which I am 100% on board for. A few male voices are interjected within Witton’s narratives, and she does attempt to address all gender identities, but it does feel like Hannah’s voice would appeal more to those who identify as female. Hannah is open about the fact that she is not an expert, and mostly uses her own experiences or those of her friends to illustrate her take on issues. Being that Witton is from the UK, she does use some slang that might be unfamiliar to American teens, but not to the point that would detract from their understanding. One drawback is that while Witton makes clear that each individual is the only one who can make decisions about when or if to be sexually active, she does not address religious beliefs around sex. For teens who have strong religious beliefs, a section about how religion might play into your sexuality and that’s okay (for the individual, not for everyone), would make this title stronger.
