It has been a weekend of weddings here. I finished Death Do Us Tart on Friday, perfect book to read just before the royal wedding. I love Ellie Alexander's series based in Ashland Oregon and her bakery Crew from Torte. This was a great read. So much more than a book just about a wedding. There was the beautiful wedding of The Professor and Jules mom, but also great twists with in twists of story lines. Lance, Carlos, Thomas, not to mention the staff and changes happening at Torte, Even the nasty Richard Lord in the mix. I loved this book, I love this series and I know you are going to as well! This one is out June 26th and is published by St. Martin's Press.

I absolutely love this series, and this was a great addition to it. I love the mystery plotting, character interaction, and relationships, and the setting of Ashland and Torte. The mystery in this one involves Lance's family and was another one that kept me guessing with just enough clues. I'll be continuing to read this series as long as Ms. Alexander keeps writing them!

This is the first book I have read in this series. What a sweet and fun read. This sure will not be the last time that I read a book in this series. In fact, I want to go back at the beginning and get more familiar with these characters. Although, every woman needs a "Lance" in their lives. He is the best guy pal that women could have. He is not only not afraid to get his hands dirty when it comes to solving a murder but he also brings the flair and laughs. Jules is not to be counted out. She may not have had the stomach like Lance but she was willing to go along.

Actually, it was really Lance and Jules that played a huge part in helping to solve the case. Jules did also contribute some very yummy treats. I do want to touch on the other characters; they were interesting. They didn't just play minor roles in the story. Bonus: There are several recipes in the back of this book that will have you wanting to make them all.

I love a good cozy. And this was one. It was a page-turner.
Although Till Death Do Us Tart with it's catchy title is #8 in the
Bakeshop mystery series. It is written as a stand alone.

Most of the characters appear in previous installments. Like
Jules mom and her soon to be husband 'The Professor'.
Jules ex Carlos appears in prior installments too.
Jules and Carlos met and were married for a brief time when they worked together on cruise ships.
After their divorce Jules returns home and begins running the family business the bakeshop.
Many changes are being made. With remodeling in the bakeshop and part ownership in a winery.
Jules has her hands full with business.
And then when a murder happens at her mom and the Professors
surprise wedding Jules is stuck helping solve with case.
There are twists and turns that keep you wondering just who dun it.
And why when it is discovered that maybe Jules was the intended victim of a poisoned glass of wine.

I have read a couple of the other installments in this series and I have to say I really loved them all but hands down this one was
my favorite!

The book also includes recipes from the Torte the Bakeshop.
Including Pie Fries made from pie crust with Raspberry Jam to mimic Ketchup.
And Chili Verde a Chicken and White Bean Chili. I plan to make!

Till Death Do Us Tart is the eighth book in Ellie Alexander’s Bakeshop Mystery series. The books in this series are fun and easy-to-read cozy mysteries, with interesting mysteries and a well-developed cast of characters. Ms. Alexander’s writing style is so descriptive and vivid that I often felt I was right there experiencing all the excitement and delectable food along with the characters. The author provides enough background information that each book in this series can be read as a standalone.

Juliet “Jules” Capshaw works in her family’s bakery, Torte, in the quaint Shakespeare-themed village Ashland, Oregon. Torte is thriving and is undergoing an expansion project. Her mother, Helen, is engaged to Ashland’s lead detective, Professor Doug Curtis. The happy couple each wanted to surprise the other with a Midsummer Night’s Dream wedding on the summer solstice, but because Helen wanted everyone in their community to be invited, they couldn’t find a venue large enough. Jules didn’t tell them, but she found a venue, created a decoy event, and with the help of her friends and the Ashland community, planned their dream wedding. Jules’ estranged husband, Carlos, who is the executive chef on a luxury cruise ship, and his teenage son, Ramiro, who lives in Spain, will also be in town. Her friend, Lance, returns to Ashland after being gone for three weeks and shares some of his family history with Jules. Even though Lance’s father was elderly and ill, when he passes away, he thinks his brother, Leo, is responsible for his death. Jules has a lot on her plate, but she can’t refuse to help Lance figure out if he’s right. Things escalate when someone is served poisoned wine after the ceremony. Once again, Jules and Lance are right in the middle of the action and are able to assist the police in their investigation.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every title in the Bakeshop Mystery series, and this latest release did not disappoint! Jules and her staff are busy with the restaurant expansion, as well as planning a surprise wedding for her mom at the winery. Jules' husband Carlos is in town to help with the wedding, and we finally get to meet his son, Ramiro. The mystery this time revolves around Lance and his family. As always, there are recipes included at the end of the book, and tons of mouth-watering prose about Torte's many delicacies. Highly recommended for readers of cozy mysteries and foodies. Juleit Capshaw returns in this latest installment of this delicious series. Romantic quandaries are mostly resolved but left slightly open-ended, while an upcoming wedding and murder round out the plot.

What a deliciously good series! I love all of the folks at Torte. In this installment of A Bakeshop Mystery, we meet more magnificent characters as author Ellie Alexander takes us on a ride with many delightful twists and turns. Love is in the air, but someone is not in a celebratory mood and poisoned wine gets served. Who was the poison meant for? Why? And who did it? These questions will compel you to keep turning the pages. This book can be read alone, but I highly recommend you read the others in the series, not because you have to, but because they are so good.

Love is in the air in Ashland! And a little poison and murder too! I loved having Lance back as himself, even sharing a little of his family history we had no idea was coming! The grand wedding event we've been waiting for was perfect! Jules and her crew keep getting more amazing with every book. Ellie has left us with a few cliffhangers though, and I can't wait to see what she does with them in the next go 'round.

Another fun entry to the series, Alexander's quirky characters keep things entertaining! This time Jules is dealing with change on every front - her mom's getting married, her almost-ex is back in town with news, and her bake shop is undergoing major renovations. What else could happen to throw a wrench in this other than another murder? Jules has a lot of decisions to make, and nothing like a little murder to keep you moving.

All I can say about this amazing book is WOW! I have loved this series from the beginning and spending time at Torte with Juliet, her mom and the rest of the crew is always a pleasure especially when, as in this story, her husband Carlos and his son Ramiro make an appearance. It is a puzzling mystery with Jules' friend Lance convinced that his formerly estranged father has been murdered and then Megan, the detective Lance hired to look into the case being poisoned and later killed. Was the poison actually meant for Megan or, as Megan believed, was it meant for Jules? The plot has several twists and turns, but it is the description of the setting and food being prepared for Helen (Jules' mother)'s wedding that will make this a book that you will savor. I only wish I could move to Ashland and eat at Torte every day!

The latest book in the Bakeshop Mysteries is an absolute GEM. The time has come for moms suprise wedding to the professor and it's everything you'd expect it to be.

All the beloved characters show up again, only this time we get to meet Carlos' son Ramiro. I enjoyed Jules relationship with Carlos and would be excited to see more in the next book.
