Emily Havistock finds Adam Banks quite attractive and after they hit it off at the bar the two seem to be spending more time together time passes by and Emily is excited that maybe she has finally found “the one.” Her best friends are excited for her and Emily is thrilled when Adam finally wants her to meet his mother.

Pammie is not quite the person Emily was expecting and before too long she realizes that in Adam’s eyes Pammie can do no wrong so she better learn to make the most of her relationship with his mom. It’s just that it is so hard when it seems every effort is thwarted by Pammie.

Emily is starting to feel resentful of Pammie because she feels she’s always being upstaged by her. Wait until you see what Pammie does at a family event the couple is hosting. Still Emily perseveres and thinks eventually Adam will come to her side and realize just how unfair his mom is to Emily.

Why Emily put up with so much from Adam and Pammie is beyond me but it sure does make for a fun read. Yes, I think the story could be a bit over the top at times but frankly, it was almost fun to see what Pammie would be up to next in her attempt to keep Emily away from Adam. If you enjoy domestic thrillers give this one a try.

Im finally getting around to all these psychological thrillers that have been sitting on my shelf and this one left me a bit indifferent. A suspenseful read with twists and turns... it was just ok

Boy, this was a very readable and very twisty book! Right when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the author threw me for a loop with one of her many plot and character twists. Two words that kept coming to mind while I was reading this book were paranoia and monomania.

The Other Woman is an excellent read, especially with its unexpected ending, and I highly recommend it.

Yessssss Sadie Jones ten times Yesss! Suspense. Emotions. Great great read! Amzingly written. I read it a while ago and failed to post my review but I just remember not being able to put it down. So much greatness.

This book's fine.

That's the problem. A fine plot, but the characters are a bit trite. Pacing's slow, not fast, wrapping itself at the final chapter. Why wait to the end to showcase a resolution that would've worked sooner?

But, it's fine.

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones is a believably intense & perplexing book.
Get ready for the MOTHER-IN-LAW horror story. This story revolves around Emily, her boyfriend Adam and his mother Pammie. Emily and Adam meet & fall in love. Be prepared for Pammie, the conniving MIL. She seems to be kind and sweet, except when Emily is around. This brings Emily to believe that Pammie wants her out of their lives, but doesn't understand why.
No one really believes what Emily says about Pammie, especially not Adam. How will this end? You should read to find out.

Emily and Adam falls in love quickly. (Emily is a bit push and falls head over heels within couple of month) She recommends she meets his mother.. There everything begins. (Not to give more)
While reading, I wanted Emily to leave Adam but she kept going back even though she seems very unhappy and keeps blaming herself. And what about Noah, Adam's brother keeps calling her. Talk about dysfunctional family dynamic...
Even though I didn't like most of the characters, I couldn't put it down so I could find out if Emily will find another way to be happy.

It was our book club pick. (I recommended this book) Most of our group agreed on one thing- we all hated all the characters especially Emily and Adam. Yet most of us did finished it. Some of our bookclub buddies predicted the ending but I didn't. I had to finish to the end to see what happens and it kept me up at night. It was not what I expected (at least for me). I would recommend for anybody who enjoys twist.

I really enjoyed this book! I'm usually pretty good at guessing the ending, but I didn't see this one coming at all.

Adam and Emily are madly in love, but Pammie, Adam's mother is just plain mad! Or is she? A fun read with lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end. Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this title.

I thought it was a well written, addictive psychological thriller.
I can’t wait to read the next book by this author, The First Mistake.

OH my word. This book was super cringeworthy in the best way. I kept thinking "Someone in the book is absolutely crazy..." but I couldn't figure out who. My jaw was wide open the whole time I read it and the ending SHOCKED me. I read it in one plane ride and have recommended it so highly!!

There are definitely some twists and turns in this novel, however I kept thinking to myself, why didn't the main character just leave Adam? Obviously, once she was in too deep, she was in too deep, but there was a moment where she didn't say that she loved him, she was using him in a ploy to "win" against Pammie. This didn't feel at all like how the Emily of the beginning of the novel felt like.

Pammie herself, was not as vicious as a mastermind as I would have hoped for. She came off as annoying and shrill, but nothing past that. And Emily didn't do much to be the fierce competitor that I had hoped for. I was looking for MONSTER IN LAW levels of comedy/ spitefulness.

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones is a page-turner. However, it had me shaking my head at a few points. The story of a woman who is swept off her feet by the "perfect" man only to be disliked by his mother is not a new idea....Hell, some of us have experienced it. However, I didn't find her perfect man to be even likable, so I found it frustrating that she would suffer through all the trials his mother brought upon her. Furthermore, I found it unrealistic that she would continue to endure this behavior without confronting him. I was also confused about the behavior of Mr. Perfect's brother throughout the story. Nevertheless, it was fun to hear of the different extremes the psycho mother created. Jone's writing is good and the plot twists kept me interested. Overall, it was a quick read with an unexpected ending.

I tried... I kept at it, but every time I would go back to this novel I just kept thinking to myself, "Why am I putting myself through this when I have SO MANY books I need to read?" So, I threw in the towel so to speak.

I could see why for some this novel could be a good read, maybe... well, I'm trying really hard. For me however, the storyline lacked originality. When I first requested this book, I had my doubts after reading the synopsis, I thought to myself, "I wonder what makes this one different?", but, I requested it anyway due to the feedback I was seeing among friends on Goodreads. Well, I guess I'm one of the few that just couldn't get behind this one.

There wasn't much to this storyline, at least up to the point I gave up, that I felt hadn't been done in a "monster-in-law" type story. Perhaps if the story had been told from Pammie's POV, the mother-in-law, maybe this would have brought an original element to the story. I think this would have given the reader a bit of creepiness or even further decent that we the reader look for in our thrillers. Who doesn't love to get inside the mind of a villain?

Furthermore, I really just didn't care for the characters. Between Emily and Adam, I don't know which of the two appeared weaker. Neither could ever seem to show any spine when it came to Pammie, which is just beyond ridiculous.

In the end, I'm sad to say, this is not one that I would recommend.

I listened to the audio version of this book. The story is about a love gone wrong and how perceptions can be wrong. What you believe to be the truth isn’t always so. How when you at least expect it things can change in an instant and those you though was your enemy may be a foe. I really enjoyed the narration and how feelings were interjected in the story.

I loved this book! I spent the whole first part of it just absolutely convinced I had it figured out. The author did a fantastic job getting me to empathize with the main character. Then, in one chapter, I was like, wait a minute. Am I wrong? Do I have this figured out incorrectly? Then...BAM! Yes! I did have it wrong, but it was wrong like the Sixth Sense. The clues were there, I just misinterpreted them. Such a good read. I highly enjoyed it and cannot wait to read more from this author.

This book was amazing. I read it in one sitting, and stayed up until 2am because I couldn’t put it down. I loved the story, thought the characters were multidimensional, and was blown away by the ending of the book. If you’re a fan of thrilling page turners, I highly recommend The Other Woman.
