I could not get into this book, sorry. Trying to clean up my netgalley. Didn’t realize that I was forgetting to leave reviews on netgalley itself, My apologies.

I just really didn't enjoy this one. Way too many characters for me to keep track of and by the end of the book i just really didn't care. I also just don't think this author's writing style is for me. I can see why many people would like this as it's a very Clue-esque type of mystery. I love Clue, but i just didn't connect with this one. I think I also went into it expecting for of a thriller but really it was just more of a mystery for me. I think it would be great for people more into mysteries.

Not a terrible book-- the premise is interesting enough: six people awake in a hotel room with a corpse; if they don't figure out who among them is a murderer, everyone dies. There are some chapters that dragged and some just upped the ante. Decently paced, this was an entertaining debut with a solid climax..

A good entry into the Locked Room Mysteries.
Morgan Sheppard is a well known, some say hack, mystery solve on daytime television. He awakens handcuffed to a bed with five strangers in a hotel room. Stranger yet, there is a body in the bathtub!

The novel moves back and forth between past and present as you slowly learn more information to solve the crime. The characters are not sympathetic nor likeable which makes the mystery less engaging. But recommended to all that love the locked-room style books.

Ended up DNFing this one. I could not get invested in the characters. I typically enjoy locked room mysteries, but this one wasn’t for me.

Chris Mcgeorge's novel Guess Who has an interesting premise, but the execution falls flat for me. Trapped in a hotel room with 5 strangers, tv personality Morgan Sheppard has 3 hours to solve the murder of the man in the bathroom or the entire hotel will blown up by explosives. As the timer counts down, secrets are unraveled as he tries to figure out which one of the strangers around him is the murderer.

Overall, I enjoyed the premise and the closed circle mystery aspect. There are some elements reminiscent of the Saw movie franchise. The gathering and piecing together of clues worked well until about halfway through the novel. Once the "big twist" was revealed, the plot just snowballed downhill from there. There were just too many pieces that were revealed so quickly that it felt a bit outlandish.

Oh, man. I'm disappointed by this book. I'm catching up on some of the older titles left on my Netgalley shelf, and I was very excited about this "locked room" mystery. When done well, those are among my favorite stories. Unfortunately, Guess Who wasn't very well done. The clues are somewhat clever, but all the characters are despicable and extremely unlikable. If I can't get invested in at least one character, it ruins the fun for me. Readers who enjoy a cast that's all "love to hate" may find more enjoyment than I did.

This was an okay book for me! The pace was good, but the plot didn't really hold my interest! but overall, it was an enjoyable read.

Deliriously trying to catchup on some of my backlist titles - my apologize for such a late review.

This was a classic whodunnit, locked door mystery - and I enjoyed the parts of the book that took place in the room. The flashbacks weren't as interesting to me. Unfortunately, I disliked every single character; I wasn't rooting for anyone! And when that happens, it is difficult to feel committed to the plot and finishing the novel.

It was entertaining enough, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to others.

*Thank you to Chris McGeorge, Hanover Square Press, and NetGalley for this ARC!

Oh wow! This book kept me guessing on the edge of my seat! McGeorge crafts a beautiful story full of suspense, confusion, and desperation. You will be right next to Sheppard, the main character, trying to solve the mystery of his lifetime. Great buy for someone who enjoys to try to figure out the endings of the books, or just really loves a good mystery!

I thought this would be more fast-paced, but it was actually really slow. It was a lot like the movie Saw - that much is true. However, the actions of the unlikable characters are ridiculous and it just never really comes together into a good book.

“Guess Who” by Chris McGeorge sounded like it would be an amazing read based on the synopsis. I was super excited to read it. I think what made it an ok read vs a great read is that the pacing was a little off. It was slow in places. It definitely had some good elements, especially the first half of the book. It was fun and the perfect mix of suspense and even a little horror. Once we reach the second half, I am not exactly sure what happened, but it just was not the same. Overall, the premise was great but the execution fell flat.

A murder mystery that’s reminiscent of Saw. It opens with a group of people in a hotel room with a dead body. The main character has 3 hours to figure out whodunnit. That’s about how long it took me to read the story. If you’re a mystery fan I think you’d like it.

Im afraid this book didn't do it for me. I tried reading it twice but it just didn't grab me beyond the first third of the book. That said, plenty do like it so its probably just me.

As far as locked room mysteries go, this was a bit of a miss for me. The first third of the book absolutely held my attention and I was eager to see what would happen next, but as the plot wore on, I found myself losing interest.

I like a mystery that gives the reader enough clues to be able to have a pretty good idea of the culprit, without totally giving it away and making it obvious. This book managed to fail on both counts. I had the killer in the room pegged extremely early on, but with no actual motive to speak of - the author was just so adamant that it couldn't be this character, that of course it had to be, right? There's really no meat to the mystery until the author gives you more or less a full reveal via flashbacks. Again, these were well done in the early parts of the story but quickly became a case of telling, not showing, the reader why things were happening. I also found that most of the characters lacked personality past the very basics necessary to advance the plot, and everyone's motives seemed flimsy at best.

Flaws aside, I did mostly enjoy this book, if only as an entertaining popcorn read that didn't require a lot of effort on my part. I think it could have been much better with deeper character development and less info-dumping on the characters' past (rather than sprinkling bits throughout to give the reader hints as to what may be afoot). There were a few fairly unique elements though, and the mystery plot itself was very intricate, even if certain parts didn't totally satisfy me.

While not a perfect take on the locked room mystery trope, it was enough to keep me reading through to the end.

I really wanted to like this one but it was a rough ride in the end. It started off strong and with potential! In the end it just seemed it was quite drawn out and it just left a bit of a ok-I-got-it-enough kind of taste in my mouth on the unveiling of it all. This was my first kind of locked in a room mystery thriller and it just may not be my cup of tea.

This is like escape room come to life mixed with a little saw. I loved the premise of this book it's fast paced, suspenseful, and keeps you guessing. You don't know who is good or who is evil. A definite edge of your seat read.

I'm always looking for a good beach, vacation or travel read, and Guess Who? filled that need . I would definitely say that it grabbed hold of me interest quickly. The characters are layered and surprising at times. The pacing was fast for the first 3/4ths of the novel, and the ending became predictable. I was very entertained and would recommend Guess Who? as an escape read.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

I had to DNF at 35% no matter how much I tried I couldn't get into this book. It got to where I was forcing myself to pick it up and it felt like a chore!
