Amazing Origami Boxes is a lovely book for anyone keen on crafting their own paper boxes. The text offers a wide variety of styles to suit any occasion. I am not an origami expert, and looking through the instructions, at times I got a little lost. However, that could simply be my inexperience. Those more used to following such directions would probably have less trouble. On the whole, if you are a beginner, I would think a little trial and error on plain paper would be needed first, until you get the hang of it. In any case, this is a well-presented volume sure to please crafting enthusiasts. |

This book features detailed instructions and diagrams for making small origami boxes in a variety of designs. The opening pages of the book show symbols and what they mean in terms of paper folds. Very detailed but easy to understand. My previous origami experience has been definitely more basic designs, but I'm pulling out my origami paper and ready to give it a try! |
This book is wonderful. It makes me want to travel a half an hour away to the only craft store that carries origami paper & buy some to try to make all these boxes. I have been fascinated by Origami since I was a child and my oldest son was fascinated by it as well when he was a child. This book would have been well used by either of us. I have already tried a few of the boxes using regular printer paper I cut into squares but they turned out horribly because I obviously cant fold paper well. This book will be good for anyone that is into paper crafts. It explains things well and the pictures are clear. The explaining of folds is really helpful. |
I was surprised to learn that the author of this book, Tomoko Fuse, has over 100 books to her name! Now that is quite the achievement, and no doubt someone very experienced in origami. This book offers 20 different types of origami boxes with varying difficulties. The book starts with a 'key' to show you what all the different symbols mean and how to make the folds, which is very helpful. I find the diagrams to be easy to understand, and the photographs of the boxes were very helpful, so you can see exactly what the end result *should* look like! A good book for any crafters who want to add another string to their crafting bow. |
