This book presents a nice twist on the concept of vengeful ex’s. I enjoyed the story line and characters. Lots of twists and surprises through out the novel. Highly recommended for your beach read list this summer.

Woman fall for men who are charming and sometimes they turn into Freddy Kruger. A divorce is a nasty thing and this book is incredibly dark and twisted. You won’t be able to put it down.

One the first books on my shelf is The Ex's Revenge by Jo Jakeman. What started off as me reading for about an hour before I went to bed ended up becoming a read until 3 am session. This book was an amazing read that had me saying just gonna finish this chapter, to I cant go to sleep yet - not after that

The Ex's Revenge is a wonderful read with suspense, very few predictable moments and a lot of wait did that just happen?? I enjoyed the journey Jo took me on while I followed Imogen, Naomi and Ruth through the past individual hopes and dreams and acceptance of what was instead of what should have been.

The Ex's Revenge is a tale of domestic abuse with several plot twists and a dramatic ending well deserved for all parties involved. It is not exactly poolside reading but it is turn off the phone Friday night well into early Saturday morning read.

A much darker story than I anticipated. I thought it would have some humor but I was wrong. The story is well written and believable bur it made me want to yell at the women for taking such abuse and being afraid to fight him legally. Loved the ending!

Love a good psychological thriller, especially one set in Britain, and this was a very good one. Three women who have a lot to gain by the death of their ex make nice for the sake of efficiency. The ending was brilliant; karma to the rescue once again.

In oven, Ruby, and Naomi are great friends. They are such great friends that' they are going on a road trip together. Friendship what could be better.
Except, these women are all exes of the same man. No, they didn't always like each other. In fact, they disliked each other very much. Until the psychopath man, that was their ex went ballistic and tried to kill them.
Great read, clever concept. Characters work well together.

I really enjoyed this book. Imogene has a nasty divorce from her husband. After he shows up and demands the house or else, she decides to take revenge. She finds two unlikely allies is Phillip's two other exes. The women are totally different but in the same as they were treated badly by Phillip. The revenge is satisfying. This is an old story, but the author put a fresh spin on it. Her writing was very good. Worth a read and thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read it.

I was instantly intrigued by the plot of The Exes Revenge by Jo Jakeman and from page one I was hooked. What happens when not one ex-wife but three, have an ax to grind with an abusive ex-husband?

The women are brought together to exact revenge on Phillip, a man who has zero redeeming qualities about himself. I think this was fast paced, with solid characters and an interesting premise. I think a lot of people are going to read this book in a single sitting!

Jo Jakerman is an English writer, based in Derbyshire, whose talent is shining for more and more readers. “The Exes’ Revenge” is challenging in many ways that are original and fascinating. She provokes the reader to look deeper into her premise rather than just at surface appearances. She does it in a way that is not complex or confusing or challenging. Rather, her continuity is clean and her dialogue is clear. The story travels along in a stream of consciousness that makes it appealing to a reader who simply wants a story to settle in with.

Three women who suffered over the yeats with the same husband, an abuser using brutal control devices, find themselves bonded together, somewhat reluctantly, in retaliation. As a policeman, he deems himself bulletproof so all efforts by the women to control his irrational behavior only provoke more threats and violence. Their plotting is brought on by his own actions and deceitful behavior. If their actions become somewhat cruel, the ugly husband can only blame himself.

Jakerman’s story is full of twists, sometimes darkly humorous, and has brilliant characters. I believe most readers will find it enjoyable and a good book to muse over when things are not quite straight in their lives. Those with no such problems will find how the rest of us survive.

This is a very good story, told with wicked humor, of 3 women's response to domestic violence. Though the resulting violence is a little over the top, most of the story is more than believable and inventive.

Excellent psychological thriller. Well developed characters, world building and situational descriptions. The lay out of the chapters and titles make you want to keep reading, with a what will happen next thrown in. Imogene and Phillip are divorcing, or are they? Only Phillip knows how that will go and from the moment he tells her to move out of the house or he'll take their son, Imogene gets desperate, she'll do anything for her son to keep him safe and happy. Being in the right place at the right time lends Imogene help, with a can you trust an exwife or girlfriend thrown in. It is violent, nonstop action at times, and pure psychological suspense in others. Who's really good or evil in this, can a person be both?
If you have triggers from domestic violence, have a care with this. You'll be cheering Imogene to get a satisfying ending.

Warning: If a reader is triggered by descriptions of domestic violence and gaslighting, I would recommend they stay away from this book.

The author depicts domestic violence very well, showing the manipulation and coercive control tactics of the abuser as well as the vacillation and self-blame of the victim who is trying to extricate herself. It should be noted that domestic violence in the real world does happen in both directions, with one partner or the other being the abuser. In this story, the man is the abuser and the women (the ex-wife, the soon-to-be-ex wife, and the new girlfriend) the victims, past and present. The author also does a good job of showing how utterly useless it is to try to reason with a narcissist, unhampered as they are by a conscience, human compassion, or even logic.

Other reviewers have provided fairly detailed synopses, and I will not repeat their efforts here. I concur with those who appreciated the occasional snatches of humor sprinkled in with the darkness. As the plot thickened, I was reminded of a long-ago movie called 9 to 5, in which three co-workers finally snapped and took matters into their own hands to deal with their abusive boss.

If you like psychological thrillers infused with a bit of dark humor, I highly recommend this book. But again I would caution those who might be triggered by depictions of domestic violence.

In The Exes’ Revenge, Jo Jakeman puts a new spin on an old trope: three “exes” joining forces against an abusive ex-boyfriend/husband. I was captivated from the first chapter. This is a well written story that shows lots of emotion. The characters are all well developed and very believable. Throughout the entire story, the author kept me wondering how the women would extract their “revenge” without straying from the core of their own moral compasses. I thought Jakeman did a spectacular job in drawing the conclusion of the story in a realistic and satisfying way. This was a page turner that I didn’t want to put down. I loved how the three women—all very different personalities and backgrounds—grew to know one another and find inner strength through each other. A definite read recommendation!

Oh my gosh, this book was so so good! Even better than what I was hoping that it would be. The story revolves around three women - an ex-wife, soon-to-be ex-wife and the present girlfriend to a horrible man. Even though he wears a badge to serve and protect, to those close to him, he does anything BUT. Imogen, the main protagonist, is the soon-to-be ex, the mother of his only child. I cheered watching her, Naomi and Ruby join forces and grow stronger for themselves and each other to show this he no longer has the emotional and physical power to hurt them.

Excellent turns and twists in the storyline and the characters are so well developed that they seem real! I can't this book enough! #theexsrevenge #netgalley
