My Review: This was my first time reading Soraya Lane, but it definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed reading this book. Full disclaimer...I'm a HUGE SUCKER for a wounded hero and three weeks before the book begins, Tanner was in a horrific accident where a bull won. He's not in good condition, but that sets up this story beautifully. Second disclaimer...I love second chance at love stories...and this is definitely one of those. When the two were eighteen and on the cusp of heading to college, Lauren dumped Tanner with no warning. He never understood it and it took him so completely by surprise, he never really recovered. But neither did Lauren, because it was definitely not something she would have chosen to do...but she had no choice in the matter. But in the present day, Lauren is a world class physical trainer, so she's the perfect person to rehab Tanner. His sister bribes his way into Lauren's Fijian vacation...and we have the perfect setup for a rekindling between these two. Like I said, I really enjoyed the book. There's some incredible chemistry between the two...alongside the conflict of all those hurt feelings from before. They're also in Fiji, so you can't top the romantic, beautiful ambience that sets up the book. Overall, I just enjoyed everything about this book. It wasn't super-deep emotionally, but I enjoyed every minute of reading the book. Like I mentioned before, I will definitely be reading this author again. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review. |
This is a fabulously written story, I couldn't stop turning the page, Tanner is a bull rider and has an accident where he is severely injured. Lauren is a physio therapist and is the one trying to help him. Can they both learn to trust and let fate decide |
Tanner Ford had been severely injured and, has to come home to the family ranch to heal. problem is that the best physical therapist he knows is Lauren, his first love. It's been years since her first live walked away and never looked back. Now Lauren has to get Tanner better and back to where he needs to be physically. The heat between these two is just as combustible as it was when they split up years ago and neither of them knows how to deal with it. without getting burned again. This story is downright molten! Two people who have NEVER stopped loving each other but, aren't sure whether they can deal with the pain of losing, once again, if It doesn't work this time! |
This is a great second chance trope romance. The story was a little different in that the hero was a bull rider who had suffered some major injuries and the heroine was the Physical Therapist hired to get him healed and strong enough to go back on the circuit. It's even more different, because he actually has to join her in Fiji on her vacation to get her to work with him. They have a past which makes it all uncomfortable. The story was good and kept me flipping the pages. I liked both Tanner and Lauren. The more remote characters were also fairly well developed and easy to like. In another review, someone said the story was predictable. Well, it is a romance. Romances end in happy ever afters...thank goodness! |
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. I enjoy second chance romances but they really need to have a good reason for the break up. I understand Lauren's parents and their ultimatum that she break things off with Tanner so she could focus on her schooling but I just don't get that she could not tell him the reason! It was fun to watch as they tried so hard to not get involved again, then when they did get involved, they wanted it to be a fling, and then finally came to their senses and realized that they loved each other and could make it work. While I understand that they had a history, it still bothers me that Lauren could not keep their physical therapy at a professional level and became lovers. At least this was a side job that she was doing as a favor and not her "real" job as the Rangers PT doc. I liked how they found ways to resolve the things that kept them apart and got a great HEA! |
All Night With the Cowboy by Soraya Lane Contemporary romance. He’s determined to make it back to number one in bull riding competition. He’ll do whatever is necessary to heal including working with the woman who broke his heart. So even though he despised her, her hands massaging in a therapeutic way should mean nothing. I admire her for working for her dream career. I didn’t care for his determination to continue bull riding. He kept saying to himself that he would quit for the right reasons but I didn’t feel it was genuine. Two minor scenes that pushed me out of the story: Caught on the plane in what looked to be a compromising position - why didn’t she go and talk to the flight attendant? She just went back to her seat to watch movies? On a small private island in Fiji, they make love in the sand. Um. I wold think sweaty and thus sticking sand. That scene just had me thinking “uncomfortable”. Overall, a good romance which is my bread and butter. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. |
Soraya Lane takes readers back to River Ranch where the Ford family make their living and navigate the woes of love and family. Tanner Ford is in dire need of physical therapy if he's ever going to get back on a bull. Lauren Lewis is just the woman he needs, but their past makes it difficult to work together. Not even the tranquility of a tropical island can lessen the tension between them. I didn't love this story as much as Cowboy Stole My Heart, but there is no denying the heat that simmers within every scene. Even when Tanner and Lauren believed they would go their separate ways their own thoughts belied their intentions. My sympathies immediately lay with Tanner, so I didn't like that he was the one constantly punished for expressing his hurt over Lauren's decision to end their relationship. I honestly had a hard time connecting with Lauren. She just seemed like a coward who blamed her decisions on the pressure from her parents or her determination to fulfill her own dreams. I understood the choice she made, but then she shut herself off from fully enjoying the life she worked so hard for, so what was the point? That's the only part of the story that just didn't jive to me, however, I can certainly say that when Lauren and Tanner put the hurt of the past aside they are explosive together. I liked that the setting switched up and it wasn't solely in Fiji or solely at River Ranch. It actually made the story seem to go by faster and also not feel so closely linked to the first story in the series. I'm very eager to see if Cody or Angelina will be getting their own stories. They've been on the outskirts of the last two stories so far, but the Ford family seem like they're not finished with us readers yet! *ARC provided in consideration for review* |

All Night with the Cowboy is part of the River Ranch series by Soraya Lane. It is also a charming second chance romance story. While it is part of the series it has Mia’s brother, Tanner, who has been on the rodeo circuit, so he is newer to the story-line and plus a tropical setting. I liked this change-up with the setting though it does begin at the ranch. Bull riders do go places other than ranches or to rodeos. There is more than a little bitterness on Tanner’s part, so it reads almost like an “enemy to lovers” story, too. I can’t say that I really blame Tanner for his feelings but the two of them were very young when Lauren left to pursue her PT training and career. Having been seriously injured he can be glad that Lauren is one of the best physical therapists around anywhere. Now he is just as serious about getting back on his feet. Likable characters in an all too real situation of recovery makes the story entertaining. Their chemistry seems genuinely believable. Now is their time to get it right. |

I truly enjoyed this wonderful second chance romance. Lauren and Tanner are both good strong characters that are passionate and strong willed. They were high school sweethearts and Tanner had thought they would be together forever. Right up until Lauren broke it off with him and left town without a glance back. Now they are reunited and forced into each others lives. They have no choice but to deal with the past. This book is very well done and I think everyone will enjoy it. I definitely recommend. |
Thank you St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All Night with the Cowboy is a second chance romance story about Mia's brother, Tanner Ford and his ex-high school girlfriend, Lauren Lewis. Tanner Ford is a professional bull rider. He was passionate about it than managing his family's business and enjoys the thrill until he had the first accident in his career. He was injured badly and he needs rehabilitation to get back in shape. After twelve years, he never thought he'll see the woman who broke his heart and she happens to be his physical therapist, Lauren Lewis. They'll be spending time together in Fiji for weeks. With unresolved issues and lingering feelings, things are awkward and tense between them. Lauren unintentionally broke his heart years ago. She'd chosen to pursue her dreams by getting a degree in Physical Therapy sacrificing her relationship with Tanner. It was heartbreaking but she wants to be successful career woman. She worked hard for it and years later, she became one of the best. It was rewarding and after all these years, she still loves Tanner and she hopes he'll forgive her. I really liked Tanner and Lauren's story. I love the angst and sexual tension here. I can easily relate to Lauren for being an obedient daughter but I wished she told Tanner the truth on why she broke up with him. Fiji was such a romantic getaway and a perfect setting for this book. Such a beautiful paradise! Breaking up in the past was the best thing that happened to order for them to grow as a person and achieve their aspirations in life. If the opposite happened, they'll be miserable couple and might resent Tanner in the future for choosing love over career. It's all about making sacrifices and compromising. Their relationship just felt authentic and I love it. |
Beautiful second-chance romance! Lauren was forced to leave Tanner behind years ago, and he can't find his way to forgiving her, especially since he has no idea why she did it. Now, years later, she's a successful physical therapist and his latest bull ride busted him up enough to require her services. As long as they can keep it strictly professional. Yeah, I didn't think so, either. They're off to Fiji for a few weeks so she can combine her planned vacation with the relaxing therapy that Tanner needs. Sparks fly almost from the moment they meet again, and Lauren's commitment to maintaining professionalism is put to the ultimate test. These two are so clearly made for each other, but they're the only ones who can't see it. There's a bit of suspense and intense storm activity that drives them home sooner than expected, but we still had to wait a while for them to find their way to their HEA. I loved the scene with Tanner and her parents - it was long overdue and hit the spot perfectly. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through NetGalley. |

I didn't care for this book. It didn't work for me as a romance, just two people who broke up after high school and never got over each other. I won't be posting a review or eating elsewhere. |
I enjoyed the novel, the story was engaging, there were emotional scenes, there were sexy, romantic, steamy moments that had me swooning. There were moments of growth and maturing, forgiveness and forgetting. There were two people, and their families, who truly loved and cared for each other, trying to find a way back to each other, and it wasn't easy, it didn't happen overnight, there was work that needed to be done, things that needed to be talked about. And even though there were this amazing chemistry and burning attraction, true adoration, they still had to do the hard things, have the difficult conversations, find the place in their hearts to forgive and forget, and find the desire for compromises and growth. An interesting novel, a story that is a perfect mix of the raw reality and real life with the fairytale-ish happily-ever-after, that only comes after the hard, rough, and difficult times. A story where the hero and heroine are truly equal, and I cherished that more than I can express. ~ Four Spoons |
This book has a lot to offer: a smokin’ cowboy, a dedicated but loving physical therapist, a good tropical setting and a second chance for a couple that was meant to be. I truly enjoyed reading about the two main characters, bull riding but injured Tanner Ford and his physical therapist Lauren Lewis. Years ago. Lauren, though very much in love with him, left Tanner to pursue her medical career and now has settled in the area as a physical therapist. Tanner has had his first major accident as a bull rider sand now needs to get back up to speed. Lauren agrees to work with Tanner to help him do just that. To help with his therapy and though somewhat reluctant to work with him because of their history, Lauren agrees to accompany Tanner to Fiji. How can things go wrong for a young couple obviously still harboring a smoldering passion for each other in a tropical paradise? This book was a fairly good romance. I believe in second chances and found this one second chance try at a love that was meant to be well done and an enjoyable read. Both Tanner and Lauren are likable characters, who are willing to pitch in whenever and however necessary. Their smokin’ hot love is palatable and the author shows it can survive on a tropical beach, where Lauren is working to bring Tanner back up to speed? It was interesting to watch them overcome their past history with its memories, nuances and many, unanswered, lingering questions. This is a good summer read, and also can double as a beach read for to any reader looking for one. The writing is well done. The characters are also well done and interesting. The plot is not the strongest I have encountered but still the “getting there” managed to hold my attention. Good book for a summer beach read or if you enjoy a good romance. I received this from NetGalley to read and review. |
All Night with the Cowboy by Soraya Lane River Ranch #2 Second chance romance genre in which injured bull rider Tanner Ford meeting up with doctor of physical therapy and first love of his life Lauren Lewis – they head off together to an island paradise where she will heal him. This book had potential but for some reason I had trouble seeing why the two were actually attracted to one another. They were both career driven but their careers were totally opposite to one another and after years apart I am not sure that there would truly be so much chemistry still there for the two of them or why Tanner would still be so angry with Lauren. The reason they broke up is iffy in my mind as another option or two could have been found that would have allowed them to stay together. The two seemed immature at times for their age. I can’t put my finger on why this was not a winner in my estimation but will say it was an okay to good read with plenty of steam between them and a HEA ending. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars |
3.25 🌟 This was an entertaining 2nd chance story focusing on two very stubborn people. I like Lauren and Tanner and I enjoyed seeing them reconnect with each other after a 12 year separation. But, I have to confess that I had a hard time connecting with either of them. There wasn’t any one thing that stood out, but I just didn’t click with this couple and their story. After meeting the Ford family in Mia and Sam’s book, I had high hopes for Tanner. I did enjoy his story, just not as much as I had hoped. |
**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review** Although this is the second book in a series it can totally be read as a stand alone story. This is a second chance at love book where book characters we together as teenagers but broke up and found each other due to outside circumstances later in their lives, starting with animosity and where the chemistry is still very much there between them. Tanner has taken some nasty injuries with his last bull ride and his sister has arranged for him to meet up with Lauren on her holiday in order to get the best PT she could find. Both have struggled after the break up in finding the right partner for their life and it is only after meeting again that they both discover that they are still in love with each other, but have trouble admitting to each other and themselves what they really want. Its a lovely story of reconnection, love and a happy ever after with a decent epilogue that leaves you feeling happy. |
The first book in this series, Cowboy Stole My Heart, was the first book I read by this author. I enjoyed it so much I decided to go back to some of her earlier work and was able to find Soldier on Her Doorstep at my local library…I LOVED that book. I was super excited to get this book as an ARC and couldn’t wait to dive right in. While Tanner and Lauren are both great characters, I just never really connected with Lauren. I felt that her reasons for leaving Tanner when they were younger didn’t add up. For someone who is so smart, it seems to me she should have been able to figure something out. I do somewhat understand her thinking taking money from her parents for college made her more independent than if she took money from Tanner, but not to the extent she seems to think. C’mon…I’ve known tons of people who have worked their way through college and done just fine. Sure, it’s a struggle and there will be a lot of loans to pay off when you’re done. But taking money from mommy and daddy is not “doing it on your own” in any way, shape, or form. So Lauren’s conviction that she did the only thing she could have back then really rubbed me the wrong way. That being said, I actually agree with Lauren and Tanner at least taking a break and finding out what life was like single when they were younger. Unfortunately, the way it all came about made them both somewhat bitter…especially Tanner. Tanner and Lauren obviously cared about each other deeply, even all the years they were apart. They have great chemistry and, despite my not-so-great feelings about Lauren, I liked them as a couple. But still, something in this story fell flat for me. I’m starting to realize I tend to be a lot more nit-picky when I’m not totally immersed in a story. While I really liked this story a lot, it didn’t grab me the way the other stories I read by this author have. Therefore, I noticed little inconsequential things and that took me even more out of the story. I’ll definitely be trying out my books by this author since, although it wasn’t my favorite, it was still quite an enjoyable story. |

Thank you Net-Galley, Author and ST. Martins Press for the ARC of this story. No form of payment was received. I love second chance romances and this one was super good. This author knows how to pull readers in and keep them pulled into the story. I read this book pretty fast as I couldn't put it down. Tanner is a rugged cowboy(bull rider) who was injured while riding. Lauren is hired by Tanners sister to help him with his PT to get him back in shape to ride again. It has been 12 years since they last saw each other and it's not easy to be around each other. I loved how even after the time apart once they got past some of the hurt the connection was still there. The question is can they both move past what happened and find a way to be happy with each other or will they only get the time on the island and still end up heartbroken in the end. I recommend this story full of feels and bull riders..also I loved that Lauren works for the Texas Rangers (we don't get baseball in the story line but I still loved it) |

I have read and loved Soraya Lane’s work for a long time. In fact, I can safely say that I have loved everything that she has written. This book, while still being above average and entertaining, isn’t on par with her usual work. I absolutely love a hot and rugged cowboy and a daredevil like Tanner Ford is enough to get any red blooded woman’s pulse racing. The book starts with him suffering a near fatal injury and at a crossroads to his future and career. So the last thing he needs is a blast from the past - his first love, his high school girlfriend and possibly the only woman who he has ever loved. A woman who left him and who he has never been able to forget or forgive. Lauren Lewis has given up the love of her life to get where she is today. A physical therapist who has made a big name for herself she has made sure that she is respected and trusted by not only her athlete patients but also their significant others. But it seems that fate has thrown her together with the one man that never wants to see her again. Will their second chance be a success or a huge mistake? This story had lots of potential. Who doesn’t love a great second chances romance? Especially one that takes the hero and heroine to a tropical island and has the heroine trying to heal the hero with her hands on his body - in a professional and medical way of course ;) But the chemistry and the heat fell short for me. The ending was nice and emotional but I just wish that the rest could have been just as satisfying. |
