I enjoyed this devotional for moms. Each day was short and sweet, rightly so for moms who sometimes don't even have a minute to brush their teeth. I enjoyed the practical examples from every day life with toddlers which was used to explain the lesson from the daily verse. There was a few days which really had "wow" revelations when the example was 100% spot on with where I'm currently at. I also liked how they brought our parenting back to how God parents us.

Title: 3-Minute Devotions For Moms Of Little Ones

Author: Barbour Staff

Genre: Christian, Nonfiction, Devotional, Motherhood, Parenting, Toddlers, Spiritual

Plot: In the crazy busy days of newborns, diaper changes, breastfeeding, crawling, teetering first steps, endless snacks, more diaper changes, potty training and temper tantrums, it can be very easy to forget to do simple things like brush our teeth and read our Bibles. This handy little devotional takes into account our limited time, attention spans and attention spans of our tiny charges to deliver small bite-sized bits of encouragement and spiritual comfort. With a little something for everyone in here, this devotional is a wonderful thing to have on our shelves and to gift to every mom we know who has her hands full with raising tiny people.

Add in a mini bottle of wine and maybe some dark chocolate or tea and this becomes a wonderful little gift bundle.

Likes/Dislikes: While I enjoyed this book and loved the short entries and overall theme of encouragement, I felt that some of the entries were a bit guilt-trippy and others were very repetitive on the subjects of rest, doing literally everything to raise godly babies (when most of us are probably just trying to get them to stop peeing in their pants and eat their dinner), and a couple others. Overall, cute and I intend to get a copy for my expectant sister. Just not my personal cup of tea.

Rating: G-all ages, geared mainly toward moms.

As a toddler mom, I definitely need short devotionals because I struggle to even find one minute of peace in my day, and often that comes only if I stay up well into the night hours after everyone else in my family is asleep. This devotional set gave me the encouragement I needed in bite size chunks. I was able to connect with God and learn more about my faith while not taking too much time away from my work for my family. This collection is encouraging and sweet, and I recommend it to any new mom struggling to find time for faith in the messiness of raising young children.

I really love this cute little book!

I devoured the whole thing upon receiving it because I enjoyed reading it so much but will go back through and do one each day as well so I can spend more time pondering each one and striving to apply it. It is well written and includes great versus and insight. I really felt like it helped me come closer to God and give me an outline of how I can be a better daughter of God and mother to my children while teaching my children about their divine inheritance.

I loved how she really illustrated that our best way of teaching our children is through our example, yet that we do not have to be perfect to be a good mother and example. Motherhood can be exhausting and difficult at times, but I feel better equipped to happily endure more challenging times through the tips and advice that she gives.

If you are (or seek to be) a more Christ centered home, this book is invaluable and can help your home become a haven for you and your children.

This is a great devotional for moms who don't have all the time to sit down and read their Word in the morning. Using this to jump start your day and get some time with God in is very useful.

3 Minute Devotions for Moms of Little Ones, was an approachable and user friendly guide to improving relationships with God, your husband and children. It addresses some of the most frustrating challenges that a new mom or mother of young (infants-prek) children will face.

The introduction was well done and included suggestions on how to use the book and break down the three minute time frame. I found it encouraging that I could glean encouragement from such a short time period but the sections are written not only to fit that time restraint but to uplift, inform and sympathize with the plight that moms face on a daily basis. The tips found within admonish you to not only nurture your little ones but to care for your body physically, your mind mentally and your spiritually relationship with our Heavenly Father, and to love your husband who can often feel forgotten in the frantic trenches of motherhood. The devotions can also help center your mind on what is of importance as you battle the little things that seem so big.

My only concern with the book and I am expressing this as a homeschool mom myself, is that the book includes a devotion about a mother feeling led to homeschool her children after the teacher having trouble with her twins. I am a proponent of homeschooling, however, for a mom that may not have that on her heart or for a mom who is restrained from the ability to do that, that devotion may be a source of discouragement rather than encouragement.

Overall this was an encouraging and uplifting read.
