The truth is I could only take 15% of this novel. The writing did not appeal to me, and the introduction of so many characters, and their alternate names, was just confusing The beginning just felt so scattershot.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

***4 Stars***

I highly recommend this book, great character development and well written with non-stop action. This was a complex read, with many intricate story lines. I should have made a flow chart at the beginning to keep track of everything that was going on, because one particular story line I lost some interest in because there was so much to follow. I read a fellow Goodread's review that compares this book to the show "Homeland", and I couldn't agree more. This story involves government conspiracy, terrorism threats, love affairs and complex relationships.
The story begins when Kate single handedly stopping a school shooting at her daughter's school. When news outlets immediately portray Kate on the news as a rightful hero, Kate takes her daughter and they go on the run as it turns out they have been hiding their identity from the government as Kate has been accused of treason. From that moment on this book never slows down in intensity and action.

I was pretty excited when I first read the plot of The Truth Itself by James Rayburn. It seemed to be something new and fresh, different than what I typically read. However, I was disappointed. The storyline was a little too jumbled and bounced all over the place too much. There was so many moving parts that I had a hard time keeping track who was who and what connection each person had with the others. At one point I thought that this may be a series and I just forgot to read the other books, but that was not the case. I think the plot had good promise, but wasn't carried out very well. Unfortunately this was not the book for me.

Thanks to Quiller & Brown and James Rayburn for providing me with an advanced reading copy.

Thriller following a widowed mother with her small daughter. Kate is an ex-operative who exposed a cover up which led to the death of her husband. She runs to find Henry Hook in Thailand to get help. There are a lot of subplots and twists as no one can be trusted. Overall a thrilling read.

The finger and the airplane sets this one apart like no other I have read recently!! It is even a believable scenario. Too much sex adds in as if two people were writing the book.. You should have stayed on the high road and for that I gave it 3 stars instead of 5
