Just when you think you cannot love Kingsley anymore, Tiffany gives us The Chateau!! This book is magic, its the heart and soul of kingsley. The man IS Tiffany's gift to women. Kingsley was always a favorite of mine, in the series, however, this story has moved him up a notch or two. We learn so many insights into Kingsley in the pages of this story. We learn insight into Soren through Kingsley's almost coming of age, coming out, finding himself. One would think this being the 9th novel in the series, among countless novellas we would tire of these characters, however, Tiffany brings them back to life every single time. Its like visiting an old friend, or just coming home. The prequels are especially fabulous, they just make all the pieces fall into place. They have a way of closing the circle, filling in the holes, or simply refreshing your memory. Completely fell in love with Madame, love her character, love her strength. I adore the connection between her and Kingsley. The side not so side characters were perfection. If I ever make it to Paris, I need the call the number, and repeat the words to get me in. The Chateau sounds like perfection to me. I completely and utterly loved this story. The twist the turns Tiffany had me gasping throughout. Oh and of course there is laughter I mean we are talking about Kingsley Edge here!!! Three words for Ms. Reisz's "You did well" |
Short Take: An erotic thriller? Well, you’re half right…. Hello my beloved nerdlings! It is I, BookNerd, Ruler of the Dark, armed with a riding crop, a parakeet, and a bag of powdered sugar, here to bring you something entirely different! Well, not entirely. You see, I received an advance copy of The Chateau to review, and who am I to turn down a free book? The author, Tiffany Reisz, generally writes “adult romance”, to put it euphemistically, and, although I enjoy dipping my…. uh…. toe into some naughty novels on occasion, I have never tried to review one. So, after much consideration, I have decided to keep my site to USA family-friendly standards, which means that I can discuss as much blood, violence, and gore as I like, but there will be not a hint of a naked [censored]. On with the review!! (Due to some other life stuff, I’m afraid this one will be a bit of a quickie.) (Heh.) Although Ms. Reisz is best known for her Original Sinners series, and although the main character in The Chateau (Kingsley Boissonneault) is a character in the Sinners series, this one is billed as a standalone thriller. The year is 1989, and Kingsley is an agent for a very high-level, secret, “assassinate the assassins” agency in France. Colonel Masson sends him on a mission to locate and extract Masson’s nephew, Leon. Leon may have been abducted and imprisoned in the titular Chateau, an extremely secretive cult dedicated to [censored]. In the Chateau, men are the servants, women are the queens, and the beautiful, mysterious, and imperious Madame rules over all. As a work of erotica, The Chateau is way up there. The [censored] scenes are beyond [censored], and even the dialogue is great. It’s all very dreamlike and surreal, and the “Alice Through The Looking Glass” theme adds to the enchanted atmosphere. There are Dark Secrets, to be sure, and some allusions to bloodshed, but I don’t know if I would classify this one as a thriller. You see, for all the violent [censored], at no time did I feel that anyone’s life was in any real danger. During his time in the Chateau, Kingsley was handled with silk gloves. Literally. I don’t want to give away much of what he learns in the last couple of chapters, because the revelations ARE fun, but there was very little in the way of a thrilling climax, at least as far as the mission (rescuing Leon) is concerned. There are plenty of other [censored] [censored] [censored] throughout the rest of the book, however. Overall, if you want a bit of steamy [censored] fun, you can’t go wrong with Ms. Reisz. Let’s just say, in her books, it’s the quality, not the quantity of bodies that matters. The Nerd’s Rating: Four Happy Neurons (And a bottle of lotion, because this long winter has my skin really dry. What?) |

Did not finish, I think I was a tad lost, but looked up and saw that the characters are from a series and I think I would enjoy more if I read it prior. |
Imagine my immense elation when I was given The Château by Tiffany Reisz from Netgalley as an ARC-one of my absolute favorite authors about one of my favorite Sinners. Kingsley is a 24 year old lieutenant in a French military agency because he throws caution to wind with his life since he feels numb to everything around him, but when he learns of his new assignment he feels a spark of his old life alight. Kingsley draws one in with his French charm and hidden yearning to be a submissive that has not been tapped into in over seven years. How must it feel to be haunted by a love that hasn't dimmed during that time, but only makes it's appearance during your dreams? The Château keeps you on your toes (or on your knees depending on what you like) with it's erotic thriller nature, while weaving a story so riveting that you can't help but want to be a part of it. Madame brings Kingsley into her home and introduces him to her way of life that leaves him questioning what his future would like if he chose to stay. Once again Tiffany Reisz has created a world with words that makes you begin to wonder, "What lengths would I go to in order to capture a emotion that felt lost for so long?". Definitely a solid 5 star novel that will keep you craving the next one. |
The only appropriate reaction to this is:
KINGSLEY! KINGSLEY!
KINGSLEY!!!
I had to pinch myself when I saw Tiffany Reisz was writing another novel about Kingsley — the news was just too good to be true! Kingsley Théophile Boissonneault was and remains my favorite character in The Original Sinners series. I feel like I should write the author a thank-you note for writing The Chateau, and not only for writing it, but for making it available on NetGalley this month, too. This book could not have come at a better time. When I had hardly any desire for reading, when I only kept on starting books and leaving them, and when I had a terrible cold, King's book was just what the doctor ordered.
The author, as I've learned long ago from her many erotic stories, has the best wicked imagination. Especially when it comes to Kingsley, although I admit I'm extremely biased when it comes to this particular character. Truth be told, Ms. Reisz could have written a whole novel about King reading the newspaper, and I would've found it interesting. The Chateau isn't about that; it is the story of Kingsley's time in a sex cult. It was the beginning of 1989. I was about a month away from being born, and Kingsley was sent on a mission to a sex cult, because of course he was. If anyone would be sent on a mission to a sex cult, it would be Kingsley Edge. But the story didn't start with that mission. It started with him.
The most compelling part of The Original Sinners series to me was the relationship between Kingsley and Søren. You can't speak about Kingsley without mentioning Søren. So, of course, The Chateau started with Søren. Kingsley was 24, living in Paris, doing unofficial official work for the French military, and years after parting ways with Søren, his dreams were still haunted by that blond monster who smelled like winter. Then he got a new assignment: rescue the nephew of his commanding officer from a sex cult. In that cult men served women. For Kingsley, who hadn't served since Søren, it wasn't just another assignment, but also an opportunity to satisfy the submissive part of himself.
The 24-year-old submissive Kingsley was just so freaking beautiful. I was quite taken with him. Luckily, lots and lots of pages were dedicated to the erotic games the women in the château played with willing Kingsley. The most intense game was the one Madame played. Madame, the owner of the château, was quite an intriguing character with the air of mystery around her and with extensive knowledge of Kingsley's life. While the other women Kingsley met in the château played pleasurable games, Madame, a sadist, played a cruel one. However, it did answer questions that had plagued Kingsley about himself and Søren. Søren, again. Always Søren.
As was the case with, I believe, all of the books by T. Reisz I've read, the story in The Chateau took some unexpected turns. Kingsley assignment turned out to be more complicated than saving his superior's nephew from Madame's home. The château and Madame hid big secrets for Kingsley to uncover. I guessed one twist, at least. What was interesting was how Kingsley's observations about that place and its owner reflected in the underground kingdom he built and ruled some years from then. That was a nice touch.
In the end, like in the beginning, there was Søren.
Kingsley leaned forward, wanting to kiss Søren, and it seemed —for once— Søren would let him. At the last second, however, Søren brought his hand up and clapped it over Kingsley’s mouth.
“If you ever try to kiss me again without permission,” Søren said calmly, “I’ll eat your heart like an apple and throw the core on the ground and let the worms have the rest.”
The Chateau is a book all Kingsley fans, all Søren fans, and really all Original Sinners fans should read.

I am always in awe of Tiffany Reisz. The Chateau, like all her other books, hits every note for me with smart and dialogue, dry humor, well-defined characters and an original plot. The story of Kingsley in his 2os going undercover in a French commune ruled by women is twisty and twisted. It's the kind of book you can go back to and enjoy different levels of detail each time. |
Genre: Erotic Thriller Type: Book 9 of The Original Sinners series POV: Third Person. My Rating: 4.5 <a href="https://imgbb.com/"><img src="https://image.ibb.co/cSYWh7/oie_transparent.png" alt="oie transparent" border="0" /></a> This is the first time that I can call an Original Sinners book my absolute favorite in the series, even if it's not the most emotionally intense. it is a <b>SUPER FUN</b> book to read, with a gripping mystery, thriller really. its twists and turns, while most often predictable and not very shocking to me, are very well written. it is a book written more like a love letter, to Søren and Kingsley's love, lamenting their separated years and trying to figure out the main reason for it, I have to admit I think we as OS fans never fully realized the real reason why they separated after the events at ST.Ignatius, there was always 'Why' in the backs of our heads and I love that Mrs.Reisz decided to put an end to the speculation, unaware of it as we are. <b> THE STORY </b> we encounter Kingsley Boissonneault as a young, devilishly handsome and bright, 24 years old in Paris in La Legion HQs, tasked with a mysterious mission in a Chateau where a young officer of the legion went missing, playing a game against the enigmatic and mysterious Madame who is owner of said Chateau. Madame was appropriately intriguing, Kingsley seeks answers from her not only about the missing officer but also about the nature of Søren. beautiful eroticism reign in the Chateau, it is "civilized" and no man who enters the Chateau would reasonably want to leave. honestly, since this book can be read as a standalone , I can give you 100 reasons to read it, the penmanship, the incredible character writing, the eroticism, the mystery, the magic of a world only Tiffany Reisz can concoct , a world that transports you to better places, where there is <i>"a home and a family, children, comfort, safety, lust, pain and love"</i> <i> of course, the love, always the love. </i> <a href="https://ibb.co/e2iBFS"><img src="https://preview.ibb.co/iXntUn/arc_netgalley_echange.png" alt="arc netgalley echange" border="0" /></a> |
Kingsley Boissonneault liked living on the edge. As an operative with a French military secret agency, he endured many aspects of the job. But his latest assignment was nothing like the others. Infiltrating a sex cult might sound like a dream job for him, if only he didn't have to face his greatest fear. When it comes to Kingsley, I know I'm going to be entertained. He has always been one of my favorite characters in the series. He's confident and adorably cocky, and in this book we also get to see his vulnerable side. This is the time when he was still trying to find a footing and we get to follow his journey of pleasure and pain. Madame is a new character that I love. Her brand of sadism was completely different than Soren, but not less painful. I admire her ways of putting Kingsley through his paces. I certainly wouldn't mind being an occupant of her chateau haha! I really love the part with Madame and Kingsley. She played a significant role in his life and helped shape him to be the person he ended up in the series. And I will always love Soren. However in this book I feel like I wanted to know more – something that I am not already privy of when it comes to their relationship. The Chateau is a story of recognizing one's true self. It gives a glimpse of Kingsley's psyche during a lesser known period of his colorful life and would satisfy the insatiable needs of The Original Sinners fans. |
5* Kinky Kingsley Stars I was so excited to be able to read and catch up with some of my favorite characters from the Original Sinners Series. This story centers around the much loved Kingsley in his younger years when he was serving with the French Foreign Legion and what he got up to in his “off” time. His curiosity and experimenting in these early years set him up for his future as the King of the Underground. This book had some new and very interesting and loveable characters. I was so happy to have glimpses of Søren throughout the book too. This series has to be my all time favorite series and once again the book was very well written and flowed well. Thank you Tiffany Reisz for giving us another fix into the lives of our beloved sinners. Thanks to NetGalley, Tiffany Reisz and 8th Circle Press for letting me read and review this ARC. |
A dangerously sexy novel that will be sure to delight readers looking for something a little bit darker. |

I needed more Kingsley in my life and I was not disappointed. He's just my favorite character in the Original Sinners series! He's sarcastic and witty, basically everything I strive to be. |
C’est magnifique. Vraiment. Formidable. First things first, I need to say I am a lover of the Original Sinners books. I have read them all. I read most of the novellas and the Christmas freebies too. I’m not a stand-alone reader. Every book has been amazing and added to the richness of the body of work. You know I am team King? Did you know that? Because I am totally, utterly, completely Team King. And this book gave me my King in spades. 24 year old King no less! Do you hear the giggle in my voice? I am totally giggling. I want to be the one who meets King at the phone box. Please can it be me? My beautiful Kingsley, he joined the French legion and he has a mission to find a lost boy who has been taken by pirates. But this is not Peter Pan. It could be Alice Through the Looking Glass though. Tiffany writes of strong women, of men who are complex and of relationships that are just right. The Chateau gives us a glimpse into the moulding of King and his club. King can’t stop the dreams of the boy with white hair who always wants to win. I wonder who he is dreaming of. I love the smell of winter. |
The Chateau, An Erotic Thriller, Tiffany Reisz Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: Mystery and Thrillers, Romance I love the Sinners series ( and the side stories), adore Kingsley so was expecting to love this. Sadly though I didn't. Its the same hot and sensual writing, King is a gorgeous young man here and we see echoes of the man he will grow into. There's lots of memories of Soren here, him and King, that weird but very symbiotic relationship they have and I thought I'd love the way how some of the gaps in the stories were filled. I just didn't connect with the book though, felt it was just stretching the series too far for me. As ever though I can see others love it and that's how it goes. Not all books suit all readers. I really enjoyed the way the sensual and erotic sex was blended so perfectly with the stories in the Sinners series, up to this one. Here it seemed as though the sex took the place of the story, that lovely balance that's been so perfect for me was lost with Story taking a back-seat. That never works for me, I need a solid story to hang the sex on, or it just becomes meaningless. I think its time for me to part with this series, stick to re-reading the first eight books and enjoying the shorter side stories as they come out. . Stars: Two, sadly a fail for me but of course others feel very differently. Subjective taste books...we'll never all agree. ARC supplied for review purposes by Netgalley and Publishers |
C’est magnifique! This is the story of Kingsley after he left boarding school and before he became the underground king of New York. It’s a dark, sexy, and lovely story with all the feels and sighs that I’ve come to expect from Tiffany Reisz. This is a fantastic addition to the Original Sinners universe. I received a free e-book copy of this title from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. |
The Chateau is erotic, titillating, scintillating and downright dirty!!! Filled with mystery and intrigue at every turn that will keep you guessing until the last page. Kingsley is an agent in a very secretive French Military agency. While recouping from his last mission he is recalled to duty for an assignment that is quite out of the ordinary. He must infiltrate a top secret sex cult known simply as The Chateau. While inside Kingsley is tasked with finding and returning home his commanding officers nephew. There are many things about The Chateau that will make Kingsley feel like he belongs. Things that will make him question himself and what he would do if given the chance. "Not all problems are meant to be solved, "she said. "Some are meant to be endured. All too often we learn more from living with the question than we ever would from the answer." The Chateau was utterly delectable in a dark and debasing manner that will have you seeking out the dark that resides in us all. This was my first read from Ms. Reisz and even though this is a standalone and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it, I think I'd get even more from it if I had already read the Original Sinners series. ** Received ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review** |

A delightfully dirty tale of young Kingsley. I love this series. I love these characters. There were a few things that happened where I wasn't sure if I skipped over reading something or if details were left out. |

Another stunner of a novel from Ms Reisz! Not only is it a powerful story line with known characters, it pulls you into the other characters' lives too and you find yourself second guessing their links to each other and to Kingsley. I think that anyone would enjoy this, not just the avid Sinners fans who are already neck deep in this world and couldn't get out even if they wanted to (which none of us do, just for the record) A definite summer read, and a naughty little story for those with a dark side! |
Brillant! Torture émotionnelle et psychologique! Wicked, leery, unputdownable. Behind every masterpiece, there’s a master with a dream. If Soren is the master, Kingsley is the masterpiece. If Tiffany Reisz is the master, The Chateau is the masterpiece. There are two things what I know for sure: 1) I’m going to biuld an altar for Tiffany Reisz. 2) I highlighted the whole book. How I’ve missed this. Missed this world, missed Kingsley, missed this pain. Missed the boy with hair like June and eyes like January. ♥ „If there had ever really been ice int he boy’s veins, it had melted decades ago.” What to say about this magnifique book? When I read, I enjoy losing myself in the atmosphere, finding that I can "see" what is being played out before me on the page. This book and the damn talented Tiffany Reisz have that just ability. I was hooked from the beginning. This story deeply fascinated me. The reading of this novel rekindled my love of Histoire d'O. It has awakened a deep desire to re-read that book. This is not a typical romance. It is intellectual, honest, poetic, intense, nothing short of brilliant. You don't see this type of depth in many romances. This isn't a light, breezy read. It's serious and thought-provoking, but not without laughs. It will make you think about real love and intimacy and what it really means to value it. It's also much more than romance. It's about personal redemption and sacrifice. This book is why I love literature and passionate about it. Beautiful, touching and enchanting writing. This book deserves to be read and enjoyed. |
The Chateau By Tiffany Reisz is a stand alone erotic thriller set in the Original Sinner world. Personally I think you’d enjoy it more if have already read the previous books and fallen in love with Kingsley. Here we get to see young Kingsley sent on a mission into a “cult” where he meets Madame the woman in charge in The Chateau, who takes her inspiration from The Story of O. The Chateau is a house where the women rule and men serve. I have never read The Story of O but I think I need to. We get to meet some new characters such as the Madame. She is such an interesting character. A sadist and a brutal one. But not in a physical sense. She is fascinating. We also get some old characters. Søren’s presence is all through the story. Even when he’s not there. He is still there. Tiffany has yet again created an amazing story with out of this world characters. She took us into Kingsley’s past and made me fall in love with him all over again. I swear she is the reason I’m single. No man can compare to a King or a God. She also had me in floods of tears which I was not expecting. And I wish I could quote the part that made me cry. But it would be a spoiler!! Just go read it. |
Would you play a game if you didn't know the rules? How would you pass the test? Simple, you pass the test by taking the test. This book was an amazing journey that sucks you right into their world and make you crave for more. I felt like an Alice in kinky wonderland for a while. This book, the plot, the writing and characters are all so delicious I want to live with them. Kingsley works for a secret agency and he gets a new assignment: to find his boss's nephew Leon. Every other agent failed at the start but King being a King and masochist on top of all gives him advantage where others who tried failed. He gets into the chateau which is a whole new world of intrigue, sex, games, mind games, rules and fun. He finds Leon but things are not as straight forward as the information he was given. This isn't a cult, it's something much more intense and perfect for him. His time in chateau reveals more of Madame past and unexpected twists. Her story is a bit tragic though. The building itself is described in such manner a reader can see himself walking down the corridor. There is so much symbolism in this book, it is a joy to read it and it keeps the reader on edge till the end where there are some big revelations. I loved how King adopted some lines for himself (appearing in previous books) Pick one (referring to the dildos) You're letting me choose? It doesn't make much difference to me. It'll make a big difference to you. I loved how the characters interact, and their dialogues made me laugh at time. They are really good. It's amazing to watch how Kingsley is jaded at first but in the chateau he is more playful and becomes more alive. We can see through the book how Kingsley changed and how he and Soren were always connected despite the time apart. The Madame – she is femme fatale in this book. She doesn't show any weakness and she is a master game player. The puppeteer. When you think you figured her out – you don't. She surprised me with every decision and every line and she played her part perfectly. There was a moment I wanted to choke her but that's how it is with the best characters, you sometimes have love-hate relationship with them. Her games were the best and they keep you in suspense to the very end. She is brutal sadist and I would love for her to meet Soren for once. I wonder how they would interact (and torture Kingsley)? Overall this was one amazing book. I would recommend it to all Original Sinners fans and everybody who loves great erotica with mind games suspense and some action. |
