Preload perfection! Finally we get Lennon’s story and what a story it is. It touches on several sensitive issues and is beautifully written with all its heartbreak and emotion and grief. This is one for the tissues because the tears will come. His backstory is intense and tragic and explains his personality and actions. I loved Lennon from beginning to end. And his love interest, Georgia, is strong, smart and a terrific heroine. Her connection with Lennon is intense and beautiful and just what he needs. I’m sad to say bye to this series. I will miss the guys and their SOs but look forward to reading again in the future. I voluntarily reviewed a NetGalley ARC. |

Lennon grew up in the same group home as the other members of Preload but as each of his bandmates find love he is beginning to feel isolated. He has endured a horrible childhood and his only solace has been music and drumming and when that may be taken away as well he hits rock bottom. Georgia is a successful neurosurgeon who has never felt she has lived up to parent’s high expectations. When she meets Lennon he calls to her in a way she has never felt before and she will do anything to help him heal so that he may find purpose in his life once again. Georgia and Lennon have so much in common as they are both damaged by their pasts and they have made the driving force in their lives their careers and feel isolated from others. They are perfect for each other as she gives him strength and comfort at a time when he needs it the most and he makes her feel loved. This is an emotional story of healing, love and new beginnings that you won’t soon forget. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. |
5 Finding Strength in Love Stars!! I've been waiting for Lennon's book since I started this amazing series and Ms. Cole did not disappoint. Both Lennon and Georgia are two people that are at polar opposites in their lives, but that's what makes this story so captivating. He's given up on life and carries a burden that would weigh down the best of us and she desperately wants to live her own life and out of her father's shadow. I devoured this book. I cried and felt emotions that I wasn't really expecting to feel in this book. Ms. Cole has done a spectacular job of making me feel their pain, sorrow, the strength they find to overcome what they think is a life that will never be complete. It's amazing what love can do and bring to your life giving you a whole new outlook and this is what Lennon and Georgia discover once they allow their hearts to open up to it. Georgia literally saves Lennon from a life that doesn't include the music that runs through his veins. This made me love her more than I already did. This book for me is my favorite of the entire series. I walked away from this story with a heart heavy with so many emotions that it took me a few days to get into a frame of mind to write my review. Ms. Cole has quickly become an author that no matter what she writes I will read it! |
Lennon Reborn is a book that will make you an emotional mess. I had to pause several times and blink at the ceiling. From birth, Lennon's life hasn't been easy. I was so hurt and angry for him with what he went through in this book. Then, I got happy all over again because I knew he'd make it. Despite his initial struggles and his tendency to be a bit of a dick, I loved him and mostly felt like hugging him a lot. I felt that Georgia was a good match for him - she didn't take crap and she saw right through his posturing. I haven't read the other books in the series, but I have to recommend you read Lennon Reborn. It's sad, happy, frustrating, liberating, painful yet soothingly beautiful. It's full of love that Lennon could see if he'd only step out of himself for a bit. "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." ~ Lao Tzu I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book. I have never read any books from this series until now, and though i read them out of order it was still a fantastic read. Very emotional story and it really touched me when reading it, the romance was the perfect blend of sweet but sexy and with a few surprises along the way in the story i could not put the book down. I will now be going to look at the other books in the series as i need to know more about the bandmates. A book that i could not put down but that was also very touching in how it dealt with dark themes and the struggles of the characters. |
Gabe and Helena have this magnetic chemistry and connection in this novel, and despite his occasional arrogance, I was in love with Gabe from the beginning. Those feelings did drastically change, but luckily his redeemed himself with me by the end. I liked Helena, her character was strong, beautiful, and loving - but something about her didn't grab me like Gabe did. Not sure why she just didn't "wow" me. This story is a combination of funny, sexy, happy, sad, devastating, frustrating, and incredible. Why do I list all of these adjectives? Because, Unforgettable takes you on a fabulous, yet horrible journey and Eva Charles' writing ensures that you feel all the feels whether high or low. As stated in the blurb, this novel does deal with the death of a child, so have ample Kleenex on hand, it was brutal. However, it was handled so sensitively and beautifully. I did not read the part of the blurb about the death of a child prior to reading this novel so I didn't see it coming at all, but it was purposeful and just added to the incredible qualities of this novel. Unforgettable is a tear-jerker, but also fun and romantic and definitely a fantastic read. I am now a huge fan of this author and cannot wait to read more of her wonderful writing! Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review! |
I loved the latest installment of the Preload series. This is the story of Lennon and Georgia. Lennon and the bandmates and their family were in a horrific accident on their way home from a concert in NYC. Some are hurt worse than others but for each one of them the accident changes their life drastically. Georgia was on her way home when she came across the site of the accident. She helps Lennon as much as she can until the ambulance arrives. Lennon as the drummer of Preload....that is what helps him battle his demons. Now that he has lost his left arm from the elbow down....he doesn't know what to do so he withdrawals from his Preload family. Georgia battles her own issues...her family always makes her feel that she is never good enough no matter how hard she tries. She starts to visit Lennon at the hospital...a connection that neither of them expected started to form. They both have their demons to battle but together they start to find happiness and surprisingly to them....love. We get to learn Lennon's story in this book and it was absolutely heartbreaking....warning you will need a whole tissue box. What he has been through will break your heart. Together both Lennon and Georgia heal each other....they are so good for each other. I have read all of the Preload books and this one was my absolute favorite. I highly recommend this book to everyone....its a damn good story and easily a top read for me. Well done!!! |
Another beautifully touching story for one of the Preload rockers. We've had hints of Lennon in the previous books but we get to know him here. His lady is the master of her own art, pediatric neurosurgery, and comes with a wealth of family issues. It's emotionally taxing but worth the tears and moments of laughter. As the last book for the guys it works as closure also. It's unnecessary to read the books in order but it helps in knowing the characters. I received my copy from Netgalley and wrote my review voluntarily. |
This one is for me the best one in the series. The story from Lennon is heartbreaking. His past is sad and heartbreaking and it still affects him in every step in his life. But after all that he is going through what happens after the bus crash is for Lennon even wors. Although he is in dark mood he has somone in his corner. A successful doctor Georgia help him step by step to come in the light. Amazing story with great characters, great love story and amzyng chemistry between Lennon and Georgia. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly |

Lennon finally getting his HEA! Preload is almost done with a grueling concert schedule and so close to an 8 month break when the bus they were on is in a serious accident. Neurosurgeon Dr. Georgia Starr was on her way to a family dinner when she came upon the accident so she helped to stabilize the injured. Everybody was banged up in the accident but the most seriously injured is drummer Lennon McCartney losing his arm above the elbow. Lennon Reborn is the final book in the Preload series where the reader finally gets to understand Lennon and the healing he goes through between physical and mental issues that he needs to deal with. Scarlett Cole has written a story that makes you understand why Lennon is the way he is and the healing both him and Georgia go through. The end result is Lennon fighting his way back to drumming and love that he and Georgia have for each other. You need to start with The Purest Hook (Second Circle Tattoos series) to get Dred and Pixie’s story and then all to the Preload Series straight through, you will enjoy all of them. Received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review. |

This was so good! The characters and story were amazing! All the feels! I stayed up all night to read it! This side This is definitely something awesome! Definitely check this out ! |
Lennon's story didn't disappoint in this highly anticipated fourth novel in the Preload series. Lennon McCartney's early life was a nightmare and although given a second chance, the scars of his early childhood still run sufficiently deep for him to just wish his life away. During a journey to a gig, the tour coach crashes leading him to sustain life-changing injuries. However, with the assistance of a woman who cared for him at the scene of the accident, he's given reason to hope for a better future. Now he just has to take it. Dr Georgia Starr is an esteemed neurosurgeon but despite her stellar reputation, she still doesn't garner the respect from her father in the same way her brothers do. When she witnesses a coach crash, she helps care for an injured man until emergency services arrived. Despite the difficult circumstances, his plight becomes her concern. Their lifestyle may be dissimilar, only, she sees a man she can help and in doing so, realises she's giving her heart to him too. Although I'd only read one previous book in this series, Lennon for me is the character I wanted to get to know the most. As couplings go, he and Gia are not two people you'd expect to be in a relationship. With vastly differing backgrounds, why would they be? Yet, fate stepped in due to unforeseen and heartbreaking circumstances and brought them together. The result? They learn from each other about taking a gamble in life by not settling what is familiar, even if it seems like the right decision to make. Gia gives Lennon the courage to face his life-changing injuries head-on; to accept help to overcome his disabilities so he can get back to what he loves doing. In return, Gia realises that it is possible to be around people who love you for who you are and not what you are. One outstanding aspect of this novel is the quality of the writing; from the dialogue to the facts provided within the narrative. The emotions of the protagonists can be felt by the reader along with caring attitudes of those close to Lennon and the frosty indifference shown by Gia's family. Of course, plenty of chances are provided to catch-up with the other band members and their significant others. Their banter is entertaining as always and adds another meaningful dimension to the overall enjoyment of this novel. This satisfying, unexpected romance, is both sexy and emotionally fulfilling and I couldn't be more happy for Lennon and Gia. 5 stars ***arc generously received courtesy of Swerve-St Martin's Press via NetGalley*** |
My Review: OMG, I thought this book might break me. The beginning of it was shattering to read...serious, tears running down my face and not being able to breath through the crying moments. And honestly, that heartbreaking, shattered feeling sticks with the story for a long time...because Lennon wasn't in a good place mentally when the book began. After the events at the beginning, he's broken. The only thing keeping him from giving up entirely is Georgia, the surgeon who saw the accident happen and pulled the whole band out of the bus. But in Gia, Lennon finds a purpose beyond himself...because as messed up as he is, he sees that she needs someone to pull her away from becoming completely caught up in her work. They need each other and it makes for a beautiful evolution for both of them. The family dichotomy was also interesting in this one. Lennon grew up in horrific circumstances, but he has his family through the band and his family that he found in foster care. On the other hand, Georgia grew up in one of the most influential families in NYC, and has no one. Her family is only about what she can do to further their name and fame, nothing about supporting her as a person. While Lennon has this full tribe, Georgia doesn't have anyone. As a result, the two can really relate to one another in a way that's unexpected. I've adored every book in this series. Every time a new one comes out, I think that Scarlett Cole can't top it...for the depth of emotion and heartbreak...because every single one of these guys grew up in horrible circumstances so they all have a tragic backstory. But every time, she does it. I think Lennon Reborn is my favorite, but I've loved the entire series. But don't worry...you can pick and choose which of these books to read. They all work as stand alones, BUT I do recommend you read them ALL!! I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review. |
Lennon Reborn Preload series book #4 Review Copy Provided By the Publisher Release Date: May 1, 2018 I was not ready for this book. I've been mentally preparing myself for Lennon's story since the first book in this series. All of my preparation didn't save me from the heartache. I was shattered. I fell in love with Lennon at the beginning of the series. He was a jerk who often said hurtful things to his band mates. Band mates is putting it lightly; these are his brothers in every way that counts. No matter how much Lennon pushes them away, they never give up on him. One of the things I adore most about this series is the sense of loyalty and love between the men. They've all walked through their personal version of hell, but they formed a family. When Lennon's life is shattered during a tragic tour bus accident, he's ready to give up...on everything. Without the ability to play drums he feels he has no purpose. Even writing this I have a lump in my throat. I can vividly see the scene of the accident playing through my head. The hopelessness and devastation in Lennon's voice guts me. Georgia is a celebrated neurosurgeon. She comes from a long line of neurosurgeons. Her father and her brothers often make her feel awful by picking apart and diminishing her accomplishments in surgery. Georgia is the kind of heroine that I love. She's struggling with her family, but she's so strong and capable. The way she takes Lennon in hand without coddling him is amazing. She's the perfect balance of sensitive and firm. She doesn't let him wallow. It would have been so easy to just take care of Lennon and do everything for him. But she knows that's not doing him any favours. I think Lennon was thrown off balance by her. He wasn't expecting her. In true Scarlett Cole fashion, the chemistry between the hero and heroine was off the charts! Lennon is crazy sexy, and Georgia is happy to love up on him all the damn time. And who can blame her? Lennon has so many layers, and as each gets peeled back, he's able to grow a little more. It was amazing watching these two get stronger together on every level. It's like they fed off of each other and brought out the good stuff. This was a tough book to read. All The books in this series are difficult, but Lennon's story has such an intense feel of anguish. Scarlett Cole has the ability to draw the reader in and really make you feel what the characters are going through. The emotions of the characters often felt like they were sitting on my chest. I loved every second of it. When this ARC landed on my kindle I wasn't sure how I felt. I was excited because I've wanted to go on Lennon's journey for so long, but I was also sad. I didn't want to say goodbye to these characters or the series. I'm not sure I've ever had such a visceral reaction to fictional characters before. I fell hard and I don't want to let go just yet. Or ever. I'm glad that the Preload guys got their HEA's. But what makes this so realistic is that even though they all found their soulmates, they each still have more growing and healing to do. The journey continues, but now they have the loves of their lives walking through it with them. I suppose this could be read as a stand alone. Though I strongly recommend starting from the beginning with, Jordan Reclaimed. There are so many intimate details that carry throughout the series. I think you'll have a better understanding of all the guys if you read from the start. |
Wow! I have never read any of the Preload books by Scarlet Cole, but received this through Netgalley and all I can say is WOW! Now I know I will have to go back and read the others. The emotion and feelings this book brought out in me were so close to the surface. The books starts with a bus crash and injuries, and never lets up from there. Lennon is the drummer of the band, Georgia is a neurosurgeon and although there was never any reason for them to meet, the bus crash and Georgia being in the same place at that time gives us this plot. A wonderful read. Both characters had so many issues that I just rooted for them throughout the whole book. I was never sure til the end if it would work, but knowing this was a romance, I felt pretty sure they were going to get their HEA. Loved it! |
What a gut wrenching book. I do mean that in the best possible way. The amount of emotion in this book is encompassing. I cried through most of this book, happy tears, sad tears, heartbreaking tears and joyous tears. This book has it all. Ince I started reading I couldn’t put it down. *Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this for my honest opinion* |
Lennon Reborn is the fourth and last volume in the Preload series by Scarlett Cole. I haven’t read the first two yet (Jordan Reclaimed and Elliott Redeemed) however I read and reviewed Nikan Rebuilt that I loved. So I was waiting impatiently for this novel and I must say I was (almost) not disappointed. The beginning of the story is my first “almost”. I wasn’t expecting AT ALL what Scarlett held on store for us: a bus accident in which all the Preload family members are, women and children included except for Lexi who is in another country. Of course we are in a romance and this is an author who knows what she risks if she makes a previous hero die. LOL. But for a while you must not be squeamish. Georgia Starr, our heroine who’s a doctor, witnesses the accident and quickly intervenes. That’s how she meets Lennon and falls under his charm and vice versa. Lennon has a tragic past of which we have a glimpse in the previous volume (and probably the ones before) and he reveals it gradually to us before unveiling it to Georgia. He has several demons to fight in this story but he’s his main one. The heroine triggers a main change in him and it’s for her that he decides to go forward. Georgia is a great neurosurgeon renowned among her peers and patients but not with her family. She’s not in an open conflict with them but we see the difference between the relation she has with her blood family and the one between Lennon and his soul family. This relation is my second “almost” because this was lacking a true end to close the story and have a real HEA. Concerning the relationship between Georgia and Lennon, it’s really simple and classical: they meet, they fall for the other and yield fast to their desire. Quickly they profess their feelings. Perhaps readers will find this relationship too simple but when writing this full of emotion story, Scarlett wanted to focus on Lennon rebirth (hence the title) and not on a potential conflict which would have needed him to be disturbed in the heroine’s conquest. In any case, I perfectly understood Scarlett’s choice and I think sincerely she was right. There are love scenes between our heroes but I didn’t found them very well described. Fortunately it’s not an important element for me so that didn’t influence my rating. The secondary characters are very, very present, on the heroine’s side as on the hero’s side. The other members of the Preload group annoyed me a little at times because even if I understood their worry, I thought they were too much on the hero’s back. With what happens in his life, he needs perspective and they had trouble accepting that. I put myself in the hero’s place and I just wanted to tell them to get lost LOL. It was my third and last “almost”. To conclude, what I missed was really a closure for Georgia and her family, all the other aspects being secondary. Lennon Reborn is a beautiful end to the Preload series and the epilogue is very beautiful. Now I can’t wait for the last volume in the Love Over Duty romantic suspense series expected for August. |
5 incredible stars!! I love Lennon so much. I think I am in love with the entire band!! This author has once again blown me away!! This is book 4 in the “Preload” series. This can be read as a stand alone. But don’t do it, these guys are delicious and damaged and you do not want to miss all that! 💚...Lennon and Georgia...💚 Lennon~ this is my family. These 4 guys and their families but I don’t fit. I’m just the extra. I’m jealous of all they have. It’s a struggle everyday to get to the next day. And then I see the light. This beautiful face leaning over me and she’s an angel. Am I finally going to get to let go?!?! Georgia~ my family is a mess. Always a competition, always an ultimatum, always negative. My father is brilliant and so are my brothers but I am too. Jealous, that is what they are. But they are all I have so I deal. And then one day I happened to be in the right place at the right time. This beautifully sexy man thinks he is going to die one me. No not today, but will he hate me forever?!?! 💭 ... My thoughts ... 💭 Amazing!! Ok so I knew I would love to learn more about Lennon through the series but I never thought I would love him like this. I mean he was seriously screwed up in the other books and I was on the fence whether he was just a little too much. Nope he is perfectly broken. Oh he is great!! And Georgia is the perfect match. She fit him perfectly. I even love her. She is one hell of a woman!! This group of “brothers” is beautiful! These men are broken and put back together by some really great women. But put them together and you can see all the love they have for each other. I could have read this in one day but I have a horrible family crisis and couldn’t read for a few days after I started. So, first off I am sorry for the late review. But seeing as it just released yesterday I suggest everyone grab a copy now so you can see all of what I am talking about!! This is one hell of a read. The energy is beautiful and the words jump off the page. Not once in this book did I feel the need to “take a break” or “skim a little” and for me that is rare. This series is full of ups and downs and some really incredible characters. **I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review** |
This is the last book in the Preload series and I am so sad, I never wanted the boys stories to end, but oh boy when they say going out with a bang, Scarlett Cole has turned out one heck of a read, I'm going to miss these boys, but you never know, we may get a holiday revisit with all the boys and wouldn't it be great to get the second circle tatts in too. I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion |
